Chapter 45: WHO IS MY MATE?

Book:Mated To A Vampire Published:2024-6-4

“Calm down, Debe.” I rub my chest, and sigh, demonstrating such to Rose’s Vampire. With a loud growl, Debe shatters the glass door and sends Robert to the ground. This sound is very loud, yet no students come to check what’s happening. As Debe hits Robert on all side, he turns into his vampire form too. Now, we have two vampires fighting because he didn’t allow Maxwell to go unpunished. Maxwell comes behind me, and hugs me. He places his lips on the back of my head, and mutters.
“It will be fine. Just stay calm.” He says, and i stifle.
“I’d like to see you, Maxwell.” I tell him and move an inch back because of the hot argument of the vampires, growling and grunting erupting each second. I’m not scared, I’m used to this sound. But they all did it fine, no student hear this argument yet it’s very loud.
“Why are no students coming?” I ask him, and he softly chuckles.
“Is that what you wanna ask?”
“No.” I respond.
“Okay. I don’t know much about vampires but maybe they did this in their mindlink.”
“Huh? You mean they are fighting in their mind link and not real life?”
“It’s real life but maybe they stop others from hearing through their minds.* He adds. “Come on, let’s go.”
“No. I can’t leave Rose alone.” I retort.
“She will be fine. Just let’s go, okay?” He nods slightly and smiles widely.
“No. I’m not leaving her behind.” I free my hands from his. He then shouts at the two vampires and they shift back into their human form immediately.
“You see, she’s fine. Let’s go!” He jerks my hands up, and flees with it. Robert looks at him, and runs after us. An inch to get to us, he turns into his vampire form and sends Maxwell downwards. I hit him with my fists and all the energy left in me but it doesn’t budge.
“Rose? Help!” I shriek at Rose and she shrieks in return. Then Robert changes to his physical form.
“Hey Robert. We’ll talk.” She stops him from shifting into his vampire form again. He breathes out, and pats me on my back.
“Sophia, right?” His eyes look very tired and stressed.
“Yes, it’s Sophia.” I reply him.
“I didn’t mean to shift. I got angry and my vampire took control. Now, you know my powers, don’t you?”
“I don’t.” I reply in a slurry tone but he chuckles.
“You do. Let’s go back into the office, and talk.” He muffles. “If not for this dickhead, we would have finished talking and i wouldn’t have shifted.” Rose then walks up to us and lifts me up.
“Rose, thanks for…” He sighs. “… for locking it.”
“You’re welcome. Only an hybrid can do that anyway.” She pouts her lips and asks Maxwell to go back to his class with gesticulations.
We enter his office again, but more carefully now since the glass door has been shattered by Debe’s claws. Or, lol, isn’t Debe her vampire? I’ll ask later. Maybe it’s Cate. Oh thou mind, stop bickering. He sits on one of the swivel chairs placed opposite his official chair. I move fast to sit on the official chair but Rose sits there before I can sit.
“Wow, that was very fast.” I remark, and she sighs. I see Max waving his hands at me, I wink in return and he returns to his classroom.
“So, Robert, can we retake the exams?” Rose asks again.
“No, you can’t.” He retorts. Rose sharply exhales and i sigh continuously until he asks me to stop.
“Okay, fine. It’s no problem.” Rose shrugs her shoulders.
“Kids, hear me well.” He speaks up. “The session has ended, next session is the upcoming month, that’s January next year.”
“Gotcha. Over.” Rose folds her arms and shrugs her head.
“Respect has been disabled in this era.” He says, frowning at Rose and shaking his head.
“Go on, Mister Robert.” I stop him from ranting.
“The students that are present in school today only came because it’s their day of…” He stops abruptly, and barks at Rose.
“Hey, kid. Get up from there!”
“Did his senses just return from the marketplace?” I mutter but I shush my lips with my fingers ’cause I remember how Maxwell muttered and I subtly saved him.
He shakes his head and forces Rose up from the seat. Rose sits beside me and he continues to speak.
“It’s their day of…” He stutters.
“Will you talk or not, Mister Robert.” Her voice distorts.
“Yes, I will talk.” He sighs.
“What’s the big deal? Speak up, you loser.” I bark at him, smiling and grinning alongside.
“Today is the day of…” He fluently speaks but Rose cuts in.
“Screw that. We are going back to the car park; Have a nice day. We will see you again.” She splutters.
She stands up immediately, leaving the swivel chair swiveling around randomly. I stand up as well, and as we hop into the spots left in the shattered glass, he speaks up.
“All students here have gotten their mates. They are here to celebrate and have some kind of coronation.” He sighs as he speaks and it sends us frozen on the spot.
“Can we still stay or we should just return back home?” Rose asks.
“Nope. The fact that you are here shows that you are gonna have some kind of fun coronation. You and your mates.”
“This man wants to get us back on our seats. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.” Rose grins, and we go back to sitting on the swivel chairs.
“Welcome Back.” He smirks, and clasps his hands as he places it on his chin, the end touching the table.
“What were you saying?” Rose asks questioningly. “We don’t have much time, please.”
“Yes. Time is not on our side.” I add and we both look at each other and chuckle softly.
“The fact that you came here unhurt shows that you have gotten your mate, and you’re either ready for the coronation or you’re here to watch others get marked.”
“Yes. The last statement.” I tell him.
“Even if you’re here to watch, you must have gotten your mates. No one would get inside this school unharmed without a mate.”
“This is getting reflective.” Rose says. “You mean you’re sure I have gotten my mate already?” Robert nods.
“What if the mate is not presently here?”
“We will summon him. Just go to the shifting room and scream his name.”
“Are you being sarcastic? This is no play.” Rose jerks back and sighs.
“No, I’m not. But you can mind link him if you’re connected already. But if you’re not, then use the method I suggested.”
Rose sighs, and places her left palm on her chin as she stares aimlessly at the table.
“What of me, Mister Robert?” I beat my chest, and wait impatiently for his answer.
“Your mate is right here.” He says.
“And who is that?”
He looks back, and I look back.
Both Jude and Maxwell are staying at the doorstep, beckoning to me to come over.
