Chapter 36 A DAY IN A VAMPIRE’S ABODE

Book:Mated To A Vampire Published:2024-6-4

“Go back to where I asked you to stay.” Jude instructs, in his human form. We were seeing his Vampire’s form fight but he had suddenly shifted into his human form, oh that’s creepy smart.
“Oh, alright, boss.” One of the members maybe his last Beta, nods, and nudges us to return to where we are coming from. Soon, Greg approaches and smiles at us but it translates into smirks as he comes in eye contact with Jude.
“Hey Alpha!” He smirks, and grabs hold of me, almost making me bump into his back.
“Stop, Greg.” I lash at him but he doesn’t budge. “At least, let Sophia and Isabella follow us behind.” I tell him and he stops in his tracks.
“Okay. We will go get them together, I won’t allow you go alone.” He replies, and we both head back there.
“Isabella! Sophia! Over here!” I call out to them and they come running looking back at Jude who is both frowning and smiling.
They soon reach where we stand and wait for them as Greg suggested. As Isabella comes near Greg, she smiles and touches his cheek and he blushes.
“Thank you, Greg.” She says, and he bows his head a bit, lifting it up almost immediately.
“You’re welcome, Luna.” He replies and I look at him.
“She’s Dylan’s Luna.” Our eyes meet and he answers my unasked question.
“Oh, really? That’s great. We are both linked now. Don’t worry, we will make sure we get out of here.” I say and smile.
Isabella smiles.
Greg smiles.
I smile.
Sophia frowns, pointing her pinky finger at the northern direction.
“Oh no! Are you being paranoid?” Greg says, and reach out to hug her but he’s been hindered by two souls, give or take, five.
I block him from doing so, and I hug her instead. Also, Jude suddenly joins us there and rolls his eyes at Greg. He’s damn jealous.
“I’m not trying to seize your mate.” Greg says, and Isabella sniffs hard as though she’s battling with stuffed-up nostrils. After hugging her and being emotional, I expect Sophia’s eyes to have started welling tears or probably, she should be pouting her lips but no she doesn’t. She looks damn emotionless and her eyes are as dry as leaves in summer. I loosen the tightness of which I held her close, and I cup her jaw.
“Try to smile, small girl.” I touch her chin and cheek but she nods her eyes in disapproval as she stares at the northern direction. This is getting creepy. For me to look back and ask what’s new right now from Greg and Isabella and probably Jude, oh he’s disappeared again, I see them trying to scan the direction Sophia’s gazes are directed to. They do so by staring at her then forming an angle from her eye to theirs then to the northern direction.
“Sophia, I hope everything is fine.” I ask her, rubbing her palms together.
“Speak up. What’s wrong, daughter?” Isabella says, tears welling up on her eyes. “Don’t be sad. We will get outta here.” And right now, she receives an hit from the back, it’s Jude trying to shut her up. I agree with him through eyesight, and gesticulate that to Isabella. Her hair stand on end when she discovers that she has said it loud.
“Don’t worry, kid. Okay?” She says and we start to move. But Sophia stops us in our tracks, and points to the northern direction, shaking her head in disapproval.
“And what about that?” Greg asks.
“A Rogue.” She finally speaks up, and we stare at her, dumbfounded.
“So so so….” Isabella stutters with an increase in her eyeballs, almost puking.
“You mean a rogue is approaching?” She struggles to clearly say and Sophia nods, shutting her eyes and opening ’em each minute.
“Then let’s escape.” I feign some confidence, and nudge them to escape.
“No, we can’t.” Greg says. “You can all escape. I’ll stay.”
“Why would you stay? Come on, let’s go!” Isabella barks at him, jerking his hands into sync and moving down the wilderness to the main hall, that’s past the main gate of the pack house.
“No, I will.” He frees his hands off of Isabella’s and Isabella staggers around a position, imbalance from the untold dislocation.
“Greg! Come on! Let’s go!” I bark at him, and sit on the ground. “I won’t go if you don’t.” Let’s see how caring a mate he is.
To be precise, as I sit, in the fraction of a second, all kinds of illumination in this packhouse go down and the packhouse becomes as dark as ever.
“Where are you?” Sophia says, swaying her hand to catch hold of Isabella or anyone. I hit my head on her nose inadvertently and she gives a bad tone but I curl her hair and they turn kinky.
“Mindlink Jude.” Greg says, timidly.
“So you can think of this?” Isabella says. Me and Sophia both agree and nod our heads, furrowing our foreheads even in the dark yet it can be seen very visibly.
“How can I? Who will do that?” I ask.
“Luna, please. Save us. Why did it suddenly turn black?” Greg says, his voice breaking.
“You brought us into this mess, Beta!” Sophia jerks, and runs away.
“Hey, Sophia! Where are you going to?” Isabella barks at her, and follows her behind. I clutch onto Greg and we follow suit.
“Let’s escape. It’s getting darker each minute.” Sophia says and gasps. Now, this won’t be much creepy if we heard the sounds of other members and Betas. No sound is heard, save the gasping and galloping sounds from Sophia and the rest of us. We look back and at least expect the object causing this to approach but nothing approaches.
“I think we really need to mindlink Jude, Isabella.” I tell her and she nods. Trying to mindlink him, her eyes glow into dark yellow, not dark green, dark yellow! Blood start to drool from her lips and her teeth grow separate and several inches away from one another, all in acute different sizes.
“Isabella?” I call out, calming Sophia down. Then she returns to her human self.
“I couldn’t reach Jude. My mind link is being blocked.” She says, trying to get a point from her statement.
“What…” Sophia mutters.
“What the fuck!” Greg yells, but I cover his mouth immediately. Then it starts to get more creepy.
Thuds approach and whimpers erupt from behind. Soon, the pack house blares with growls and uncontrollable snapping of bones. Coupled with those, the pack house is being illuminated. Not being restored to normalcy but by dark green eyes from all angles! Then the scowls and cries for help from other members is heard and we all panic thinking of what next to do. A day in Vampires’ abode and we are experiencing trash! Dang this, damn, dammit!
“Sophia?” Isabella says. “They are coming for you.”
“Run…” She speaks in a slurry voice.
“They are coming for you, Luna Isabella. Run!” Greg repeats after her, pushing her to go away.
“They are coming for you, Greg.”
“They are coming for you, Isabella.”
We both say at a time and it soon comes down into chuckles. No, we hide the internal smiles and look back at once.
The rogue is right behind us.
