Eyes blue and black, the rogue drives towards Isabella only as we others take to our heels. Sophia stays behind, and check up on her but the rogue is already up on her.
“Greg, why are you such a coward!?” I bitterly say after getting a safe place to hide. But before I can repeat the statement, he goes back to where we escaped from.
“Hey, don’t you have her mind link? Why not mind link her instead?” I yell at him but no, he gives his wolf the control and zoom, he’s gone. I sigh repeatedly and my eyeballs dart towards and forwards this arena, in the dark, in terror. No Sophia with me, No Jude, No Isabella, No Greg mate! I really need to go search for them.
“Greg!” I scream at the top of my voice as I trail behind him. But I only get a response after few minutes and the response is my mouth being shut and covered with bloodstained claws, and I’m being driven away to where I don’t know.
SOPHIA’S POV
“Greg, thanks for returning to check up on mum but the rogue didn’t really hurt her. It just growled at her, and sniffed her scent.” I tell Greg who is in his wolf form, expecting him to shift back but he doesn’t. Instead, he lets out growls and howls as the rogue rises itself up a bit more than the normal level, returning almost immediately, and rising up again till it forms a perfect and fistful claws and dashes it towards Greg.
“Oh no Greg! Where’s Rose?” I mutter under my breath but sadly, I’m the only listener. Greg’s eyes switch from black blue into black yellow but the rogue doesn’t change its colour. Probably, Greg is being mindlinked. No, not Greg. Spark – his wolf. “What an irresponsible mate I have!” I spit on the ground and gulp down the rest forming afterwards. And suddenly, three wolves descend, just right here in my front. I do hear that one will smell one’s mate once one gets near him or her but I don’t think it’s the case now. Afterall, I’m not eighteen yet and I don’t believe that Jude is my mate. When we return to school, I’ll go ask Robert few questions about getting mated to a Vampire – he volunteered to respond to my questions, didn’t he?
These three have weird growling sound enough to scare wolves out of life. Coupled with that is the illumination shining in this arena by their glowing dark green eyes. Even if Jude is among these three, then he’s still a stupid vampire mate. My so-called mate killed my father, tortured my mother, kidnapped me? And he actually thinks I’ll get mated to him? Never! The fact that the moon goddess repeated the word “immature” doesn’t mean I’m his mate.
“Don’t come any nearer. Back off.” I tell the wolves who are obviously here for me. But they only get nearer and whooosh, two of the three lift me up just with the tip of their fingers, and where I am being taken to, I do not know. Where is Rose, where is Greg, where is mum? Where am I? As the wolves land me on the basement of a plank, I breathe out. I let out sighs of frustration and I furrow my forehead, annoyed by their silence.
“Who are you?” I ask them since the two that brought me here had shifted back into their human forms.
“You don’t need to know that. Shhh, be quiet.” One of them tries to silence me but I only become more vocal.
“Why would you say that? What the hell are you talking about?” I frown at them and the dim illumination from the vehicles reveals the frown. They reply with chuckles instead and as I frown again, they smirk.
“Free me, please.” I tell them and try to cross to the other side of the road.
“We can’t. Don’t bother, we will get others here too.” One of them replies, and drives me back to squat. I bow my head, and think of a way of escape.
“Please, leave me alone!” I hear cries of help from a far distance and my ears twitch. I release my fingers to point at the direction but no, I won’t want to let them know I have that ability, they could injure my wolf. Let me just remain calm and get more information from the victim crying for freedom.
“Leave me alone!!” Now, it’s a male voice.
“Leave us alone!” The male voice says, and now I know that he’s talking about him and his mate. Maybe because of my experience right from moping around the street and being hit by a vehicle then to staying in an unknown room where Rose’s clone appeared and almost took life out of me, then to getting inside a pit and being saved by Dad. Then getting home again and the attack by Jude. Oh my God, my brain rumbles as it loads and reloads these information.
SplitMoon pack, I’ll forever remember you for this evil you have done to me. We are now in the month of November. In a week’s time, we’ll get to December. Oh my freak, the school session will close then as well. What kind of life is this? Coming to live a wolf life and fighting for survival all day long? April next year, I’ll be 18, Yeppie! I can’t wait. The increment in the tone from afar jerks me out of my historical attachment as I shiver and stare rudely at the two Betas.
They were the one that led Isabella and I to this packhouse, that’s my thought though.
“Any problem?” One of them scoffs, and they smirk at each other.
“No. No problem.” I face a different side, and clear my throat.
“But why did you shiver all of a sudden? Your other ones are coming here soon.” He smirks as he says.
“But why are you smiling mischievously?” I retort, rolling my eyes at both of them.
“Oh, we are?” The two of them look at themselves, smirk, and face me again. “Thank you, that’s how we smile.”
One of them taps the other childishly and smiles mischievously again as he mutters. His mouth can only be seen moving, you can’t hear a damn thing as a human but as a special wolf, it’s as though the speaker’s been turned on and pitched to the highest frequency.
“She’s going to be a good mate…” He mutters to his second.
“Yes. Our Master, Ben, will enjoy.” He smirks back at him.
My heart drops to my feet, and I gulp down the saliva trying to drool down my chin.
“Ben?”
