“Who is … it?” I stutter, shivering and shuddering, staggeringly jerking up to grab hold of the door. My instinct tells me to call Rose but I hesitate, I’ll only get scared the more. Trying to stand up, my heart drops to my feet as I sight a dark grey eye stylishly beckoning to me to come over to him. I gasp, reloading my skulls to be sure of I’m actually in reality.
I stand up, and make my way to the door. At least, it will budge out if it notices I’m trying to escape. As I try to open the door, Rose turns the knob too, and it seizes. I gnash my teeth and exclaim some cuss words. I loosen my grip on the knob to let Rose in, and she enters. What she first does is laughter. She laughs just so maniacally.
“So you think you can escape?” She barks at me, leaning on the door. I take a step back until I land on my bed.
“Rose?” This is what I can only say.
“Yes, I’m Rose.” She says but in a hoarse tone. “And that is my wolf, Spark.” She points to the dark grey object.
“What do you want actually?” I muster some courage since I am freezing.
“I want you.” She says. “To be my mate.”
“Rose!!!” I yell, with every bit of the energy in me. “Rose!!!”
The door suddenly jerks open, and Rose comes in, panting and releasing sighs. She staggers near my bed chamber, and lies down near me. “Sophia, what’s wrong?” All I can do is stare at her, blankly.
“What’s wrong?” This is what she can only ask too, and I know she’s been asking this for the umpteenth time.
“What’s the name of your wolf?” I ask her again.
“I told you.” She sniffs, and places her left hand on her chest, slowing down her heart’s sudden great paces of escape.
“My wolf’s name is …” The door suddenly jerks open before she can remind me her wolf’s name. Rose enters. She gasps at the sight of Rose sitting beside me. Rose is not moved at all, she is waiting for her to talk. I squint my eyes to see if the dark green eye is still staring, and I can see that it is. “Rose.” I whisper but continuously. “That.” She faces the direction at once and her eyes catches hold of the dark green eye. Just one eye in a fluffy dark skin. It’s hiding behind the curtains. Rose’s clone has come much nearer to me but when she sees that Rose is going over to Spark, she tanks Rose’s hair aside, and rush to possess the wolf.
“Rose! She will possess the wolf and fight us!” I scream, as Rose lay on the cold floor as though she’s dead.
“It’s not a wolf.” I hear her say, and she stands up again. “It’s a Vampire!” She yells. I can see the other Rose sniffing in and out, possessing her VAMPIRE, as Rose said. Immediately, I try to mind link Dad but I remember he said that I xan only do that, when I click eighteen.
“Rose, what do we do?” I ask her, cuddling her shoulders in fright.
“Don’t worry.” She says, and her eyes turn dark green but it becomes normal again. “Dammit!” She says. “I can’t overcome this one.”
“Can’t we do it together?” I ask her, confused.
“You haven’t learnt to shift.” She replies, and stands erect as her clone approaches.
“We beg thee.” I say, reminding myself of my former self being colloquial.
“Don’t beg anything.” She yelps, and translates her hands into fists.
“That can’t help, Rose.” I mutter, releasing heavy sighs.
“I know it can’t.” She says,. “We have to summon an Alpha.”
She takes a step back, and whispers into my ears: “Go out now. Straight up the street, and then turn left. Escape right now.”
“But…” I say. I didn’t mutter.
“But me no buts.” She replies, whispering though. And as she did, her clone slaps her hard on her face, and she lands herself on the cold ground. I hesitate to leave. I can’t leave Rose in this situation but I’m the next target of my clone.
“Oh you stupid! Run!” She yells, her voice breaking amidst. I have no other option.
“I’m sorry, Rose.” I say, and run out of the room, shutting the door as I did. Then to my heels! I run, my heart dropping to my feet and my feet refusing to hit the ground. I look back every now and then to see if Rose is coming. But no! With much grief in my heart, and coupled with fear again, I halt and hurry out of wherever I found myself.
“Gosh…” I sob. “My father sent me her to complete my college years.” My heart races up and down as I stifle those words. Immediately I turn left, a hand clasps its own into mine and jerk me towards a different side. I look up to the person but I can only see dark green eyes in a masked face. Well, the person isn’t here to hurt me. I hope it will be Rose though. I drive him back but he overpowers me, and drives me deeper in the jungle. I look back and see three rogues speeding behind us. Just like flash of lightening.
“Were you able to defeat your clone?” I ask the object but it doesn’t give any reply. As we move deeper and deeper, my feet suddenly step on a soft spot, and I am being lowered into what I don’t know. Maybe a pit. My savior jerks me up again and the mask fell off. I stare at her painstakingly, and my memory tells me that it isn’t Martha, Anna or Jessica. It isn’t Robert, Max or Rose. It is Rose’s clone!
I release myself into the pit.
