Book:Mated To A Vampire Published:2024-6-4

Dylan’s POV
“It’s morning, Isabella isn’t up yet. It’s been a while I heard from Sophia but I think I’ll go visiting someday. My heart is free, so I don’t doubt her safety.” These words escapes my lips as I stare at the curtains which its being light have access to the streak of lights from outside, to illuminate inside the room. I can hear a knock on the door. Who’s there? Immediately, Greg mind linked me.
“Boss, I’m back.” He tells me and I reply immediately. “Where have you gone to? Where are you right now?” My brain is loading several questions at a time but he only gives an answer.
“At the Alpha’s penthouse.”
“I’ll be there, okay?” I reply him, and sit up on my bed. Immediately, Isabella enters my room without knocking. Dammit, we don’t use any other means! We knock on doors. Lol.
“Why didn’t you knock?” I tell her but blush, seeing her pinkish red lips and appealing physique.
“I don’t think I need to.” She rolls her eyes at me, and sits beside me. “How are you this morning?”
“I’m good.” I chuckle, and shut my eyes, bringing my lips near hers. My eyes open at once, after getting slaps on my chin from her. My eyes open to shock. Widely.
“What the fuck is that, Isabella?” I grin.
“I don’t give a fuck. Well, what I wanted to say is…” She says, standing up. I cut in, drag her on the floor, raise her again, and pin her to the wall.
She gasps, and shuts her eyes. She squints her eyes, doubting if I am doing this to her, for real.
It is not my fault. Duke is thrusting out of me. I’m trying to collect myself but it keeps telling me to allow him deal with Isabella. She didn’t do anything wrong though, I tell Duke. Since he doesn’t respond, Greg immediately mind inked me, and I lose the grip on Isabella’s throat.
“If only…” She mutters.”If only…” She mutters repeatedly. “I would have dealt the hell outta you.” She sobs.
“Thank goodness, you can only shift to a vampire if you are elated. You can’t shift if you’re annoyed or pissed off.” I chuckle, and scorn her.
“You honestly don’t see me as your mate.” She says. “I’ve been suffering a lot.”
“Well, you could have just been captured by the Vampire. You know, it would have been the best, Vampire with Vampire.”
“Why did you save me then?” She sarcastically asks.
“Because of this.” I point at the ceilings. She looks up. I swerve my hand here and there and her eyeballs follow. I had tricked her.
“That hurts. You’re a bitch.” She remarks, and I smirk.
“I’m a male. Not a bitch. I’m your mate.” I move near her, and pet her, patting her behind as she sobs. I count it puerile but maybe she doesn’t.
“Boss, we need you here right now.” Greg immediately mind links me. I loose hold of Isabella and she shakes. She wonders why I did that. Just so suddenly. I stand up, and jerk the door open immediately. I burst into the bathroom, and I discover that my bath tub is leaking. Dang! I go to Isabella’s room and she clears me off the road with a single finger. Her vampire form did that, I know. But what made her happy? Maybe she just cheered herself up. I go to Sophia’s room, I find out that it is locked. Duke comes out immediately without notifying me but not without grunts, howls, and snapping of homes, enough to scare Isabella. Duke jerks it open, and the door fell flat, giving the full road to me.
I shift immediately, and Isabella comes running. She enters, picking up the broken parts of the door, wondering. She looks at me but I rush inside Sophia’s bathroom.
“Oh, I’m naked! Why did you stare!” I yell from the bath room, and she chuckled outside.
“Well, I have seen you like this uncountable times but the last time I saw you like this was the time Sophia got into this belly.” She spanks her belly, I can hear that clearly.
I immediately bathe myself, and put on some clothes.
Then, into my car, I zoom off to the penthouse. I don’t want to shift, it’s a sunny afternoon, I might get trapped by a camera.
My car screech and went to a sudden halt as I almost hit the building. I have accelerated the car beyond normal. Greg comes out quickly, out of the penthouse. He comes to take me in but I object.
“So, Greg, where did you go?” I ask Him, as we both walk into the house.
“It’s a long story.” He says.
“That answer is vague.” I reply him, and we branch to another direction, leading to the Official Alpha House.
“How is Alpha?” I ask him, since he ignored me and didn’t tell me any of the long story. Not even an hint of what happened.
“Alpha is not fine.” He says. I keep quiet. Immediately my skull reminds me of what I heard. I always hear him tell me that Alpha is fine.
“Alpha is what?” I face him, requiring an urgent answer.
“Alpha is not okay.” He says again. “I just said that.”
“What’s wrong with him?” I splutter, and now we are at the doorstep leading to Alpha’s chamber bed. The left is his original room.
The door opens itself and I can see Karl seated on the throne.
“Dylan?” His voice is rough, and calling one’s attention. I rush to meet him, and bow down.
“Yes, Alpha! It’s Dylan.” I exclaim, slowly raising up my head.
“Why did you take so long?” He asks, again with a rough tone. He will cough out his lungs in no time, I think.
“Erm… It’s afternoon. I didn’t shift. I drove my car here.” I explain to him, and Greg nods. He’s raised his head too.
“Always be brave. Take risks.” He tells me.
“Okay, Alpha.” I have no time to argue. Greg is shocked at my reply but he keeps mute.
“Sit here.” He pats a stool near him, and pushes it to me. I grab hold of it, and him. He has almost fallen from the throne because the stool he pushed, pushed him too.
“And you, out!” He says to Greg, and Greg having changed his countenance, leaves through the door. He shuts it behind, and Karl starts saying his words to my ears.
“Sophia, your daughter.” He says, and keeps mute. I am surprised he mentioned her name. He’s never mentioned it.
“What about her?” I am almost standing up from the stool but he sits me down back.
“She’s in school, right?” I ask him.
“No, she is not.”
My heart dropped to my feet.
“Alpha, what?” This is the only word that can come out of my mouth.
“She is being attacked by rogues.” He explains.
“Rogues again?” I say. I raise my hope.
“Let me call the pack members.” I say, and stand up. I look up and down. “Alpha, thank you.” I gasp, and try to open the door. Karl just stares at me in disbelief and disgust. I shut it behind but open it almost immediately. “Alpha, what place in particular?”
“I thought you were gone.” He smiles widely. “Well, you lost your sense of smell?”
“No. I’ll do just that. Thank you!” I yell, shutting the door again. I take to my heels, gasping alongside. Greg comes running and we bump into each other, our noses suffering the biff. Not minding shit, I get into the car. He enters immediately too, and I shift the gear. As I try to swerve, Greg asks me: “Going to hunt or Save?”
“What does it look like?” I reply in haste.
I swerve the car, and soon I join the other cars on the road.
“Sophia! No! No!” I yell at myself and Greg try to drive instead but I slap him hard on his face. He places his head on his laps, and I drive into different zones, sniffing, trying to get signals.
“Over there!” Duke affirms, and I speed the car, going to the direction.
“Are you safe?” Isabella mindlinks me but I ignore, and give no reply. I stop the car from moving at once, and Greg and I get down at once, shutting the doors with a loud thud. We enter into the thick forest. I’m even shocked to have reached here so soon. I’m a crazy driver. I almost smile at this thought but the invisible smile disappears, and I frown instead. Greg tries to calm me down but no, I can’t be calmed down.
“What’s the situation?” Greg finally decides to voice out. He’s been grinning at my weird actions all this while.
“My daughter.. my daughter.” I manage to say, raising my brows and shutting my eyes. Repeating this, repeating that.
“Rogues?”
“Yes. Where is Sophia?” I let out a shriek.
It is now dark. We have been moping around this thick forest for a long time. Where is Sophia? Greg seems tired but he is still agile.
“May we shift?” He asks, and i nod.
“But we may get too tired, and we wont have any clothes on thereafter.” He adds.
“Stop countering yourself. Shut the hell up!” I reply in frustration.
“Sorry, boss.” He’s always been humble though he’s also a Beta. An Assistant to me though. Lol! We don’t like to call them Zeta or Gamma. Second rank of Beta is enough.
His humility makes me chillax a bit and I have a rethink: “Can’t we just strap off these clothes before shifting? So we will put it on after we shift back.”
He nods but says: “We won’t identity ourselves.”
“Smell.” I say, and he nods again.
We hide behind a tree, and put off all the clothes. We hold it in our hand and I can hear Duke jumping up and down since he will be out now. Greg breathes inside the cloth, to remember the smell and effortlessly locate it. I do the same and we start to shift.
