The next few days Logan Brown was nowhere to be seen, and Kent didn’t make a point of asking after her, just patting her on the top of the head to soothe her.
Every time this happened Elena Bush would puff her face out and complain, “Aren’t you afraid he’ll see you?”
“Afraid of what?” Kent smiled dotingly, “You’re my only sister and I’m not allowed to spoil her a bit, are you?”
Elena Bush’s dumbfounded smile deepened.
Harvey would occasionally mention Logan Brown, but always in a ‘that guy’ tone, and Elena Bush was amused by his little grown-up look, and the corners of her lips curled up in a nice smile.
It was only on the fourth day that Harvey threw his arms around her legs and said, “Mummy, I miss Daddy.”
Elena Bush gave a start.
She missed him too, but she dared not take the initiative to call him at this time for fear of disturbing what he was about to do.
Harvey looked at the silence and said carefully, “Mummy, did I make Daddy angry and that’s why he hasn’t shown up?”
Children are always extra sensitive to things like this, so it didn’t take long for him to get worried, and with Logan Brown missing for so long, he couldn’t help but worry.
“No way.” Elena Bush denied it immediately, “He wouldn’t be mad at you, he’s just too busy with work.”
“But Daddy didn’t ignore me before because of work too.”
“There are times when he’s too busy to get away, we just have to be good and wait for him to come home, okay?”
She stroked the top of his head, a gentle, light smile in the back of her eyes.
Harvey hesitated for a moment, then grunted, “Then I’ll forgive him this once! If there’s another time he sneaks off like that for days on end, I’ll go out and find Mummy another man!”
Other men?
Elena Bush just felt amused and helpless and rubbed the top of his head.
Harvey and Elena Bush made out for a long time and after a while Kent urged them to go to the bridal shop to try on their altered dresses.
Blanche smiled at her as she got into the car, and she could see that it was an apologetic smile, and must have guessed that Logan Brown’s absence for a few days had something to do with Abbie.
She silently clasped her hand and patted it, “Blanche, I never thought Kent would ever fall in love until I met you, you are the only woman he loves and the only person he cares about, so all you have to do is give him, and yourself, happiness and that will be enough.”
As for the rest, don’t worry about it or mind it.
She and Logan Brown had been through much more, and while she and Kent were only just getting together and had more to face in the future, she wished with all her heart that the two of them could stay together.
Blanche was silent for a moment before smiling back, and it was genuine.
The moment Blanche tried on her wedding dress Kent was almost angry enough to shove her back into her original dress!
She was so beautiful, so gorgeous.
Blanche looked at him and remembered how she had reacted when she had gone with him to the styling shop to change into her dress.
“Kent, you didn’t do that earlier because you didn’t want me to look pretty for anyone else, did you?”
He’d put her on his mind much earlier than she’d thought.
Kent froze for a moment at the sudden question.
Blanche Ran looked like she had discovered a new world, “Why are you reacting like this, did I guess it?”
“……”
Kent’s face was flabbergasted, and he cleared his throat to play it cool, “You’re thinking too much, I’m just afraid this wedding won’t go ahead after you’ve charmed a bunch of people at the wedding.”
“Nonsense.”
Blanche gave him a blank stare.
It was then that Kent looked squarely at the woman in front of him, the corners of his lips following suit, “But you’re so good looking, I really don’t want to share your beauty with anyone else, you just need to let me see it.”
“What about the wedding?”
Kent sank down in depression and pressed her tightly into his arms for a moment complaining, “I wish you could shrink so I could put you in my pocket.”
“You’re a …… person.”
Blanche was helpless for a moment and wondered when the man in front of her had become so worried, was she the kind of woman who would seduce another man?
Kent wrapped his arm around her waist affectionately and dropped a kiss, “The wedding dress looks great and there’s nothing more wrong with it, go change back into it.”
“Yes, my boss!”
Blanche nodded repeatedly, not forgetting to snicker.
Watching her go back to her dressing room Harvey just jumped up in his seat on the sidelines, “Uncle, I’ve noticed you and Daddy are getting really alike!”
“I look like Logan Brown?”
How was that possible.
“Yeah.” The little one nodded without hesitation, “You’re getting so petty! You’re just like Daddy!”
They all like to keep their women hidden from others. Thinking about it he couldn’t help but worry about the future of his little one being like himself.
He shook his head helplessly at the thought, as if there was no turning back.
Kent couldn’t help but laugh at his appearance, “But don’t worry, I will definitely take good care of my child, and won’t be like your daddy, who has to guard even his own son.”
“NONONO,” Harvey said in a serious way, “It’s too early for what you’re saying.”
“Little man.”
Kent picked him up in a hug and deliberately messed with him.
Harvey giggled out loud at the teasing.
Elena Bush’s mood seemed to warm up a little as the two of them played, and a light smile was on her face.
Before she could interrupt their banter, a phone call from a man she hadn’t heard from in days appeared just in time.
She covered her chest to restrain her somewhat uncontrollable emotions before she got up and went to the side to answer the phone!
“Logan Brown!?”
“Yeah.”
The man’s husky voice had a distinctive magnetism that she could easily distinguish at first hearing.
The two held the phone in silence for a while, as if they were feeling each other’s breath.
“Where are you?” He asked softly.
“The bridal shop, just came out to try on wedding dresses and gowns with Kent and the others, that’s about it, later ……”
“Wait for me then, I’m coming over now.”
Logan Brown made a quick decision and hung up without giving anyone half a chance to react.
Elena Bush froze in her tracks, looking at the phone and at the two men jostling aside.
Blanche quickly changed and came out, and Kent hugged Harvey and called out, “Harvey, how about Uncle takes you out for a nice meal?”
He was answered by a cheer from Harvey.
Elena Bush hesitated for a while before walking up to Kent’s side and saying, “You guys go ahead, I’ll wait here for someone.”
