Alder’s POV
I wanted to go and see Cindy. That’s what she wanted me to call her, so I think I will do that. I miss her so much, even though she had just left the palace. Three days. She will only be away for three fu****g days, and yet I am feeling this way. She told me she loved me too, so she’ll return, right? I had never felt this scared before. In my hundred and eighty-seven years, I have never been scared or feared by anything. However, she is different. I think she is all I have, even though I know I have everything else in my life.
When I noticed that Vlad was not on the training ground, I got paranoid. I looked for him, and someone saw him heading toward the palace. I rushed there and sighed in relief at seeing my beautiful mate in our bedroom. She assured me that I was her only mate, and I felt happy about it. Though I still have a bit of anxiety and worry that she may leave, that’s why I always wanted to go wherever she might go.
She was with Charles, Mia, and Sheena. I don’t think she will have trouble with her friend, Lincoln, because I saw how much he respected her and how close they were. I was concerned, however, that he may see something unusual in the Blue Moon Pack and become scared. That is not going to be good for our species since it might threaten us once everyone finds out about our species. Shit! While Cindy was busy doing whatever they were doing, I was thinking too much. Charles had not contacted me yet, so I assumed that everything was OK and had been handled by my mate.
They left the other day, and I was itching to teleport to the Blue Moon Pack just to peek at her. I could do that, but I didn’t want her to think I was too clingy or didn’t trust her. Goddess, I really don’t know what I would do without her. As usual, the wolves continued to train. I didn’t want to be lazy and get nagged by her when she returned. This is the first time I’ve ever thought about the well-being of our species. Until I found my mate, all I thought about was improving our kind and finding her. Now, she’s all on my mind. Forgive me, moon goddess, but this is how I feel.
I am not saying that I am neglecting them. I was just expressing how much I care about Cindy and love her. I hope she feels the same. I couldn’t wait for her to mark me. However, I don’t think it will happen soon unless we find her aunt and talk to her. Moon goddess, please help me find her. I want my mate and I to be completely bonded. I never asked for a creator in my life. Everything I did was for her satisfaction. I grew up with a parent who always reminded me that I held responsibility for every wolf’s life, so I had to be the king they deserved. But this is different, and I want to fulfill my duties and responsibilities with my mate by my side. This is how her absence causes me to sulk and worry. Then I looked around.
My office is quiet, and I expect it to remain quiet until Lance and Charles return. No one comes in and out of here since everyone in the palace reports to me through our mind link. The head trainer assigned to look after the trainees is really good at his job. Each bracket has its own trainer, who looks after them personally. In their bracket, there are six groups consisting of different packs, and each group has its own leader in rotation. Everyone must have experience handling their group since they are tasked with teaching and training their pack members once they get back to their respective packs. As far as security is concerned, I hope this will prove helpful to them.
“Come in,” I said when I heard a knock on the door, and my head trainer came in. He looked worried, and I wondered what had happened. “What’s with the look?” I asked and motioned for him to sit down. I felt this would take a long time. I went back to my office after lunch and decided to go back before they ended their training for the day. I wanted to give them a few words to ponder.
“All trainees have significant potential. I gave them that. But they lack discipline and only listen to what they believe in.” He started. I waited for him to continue since he had not told me what his problem was. “I can handle males, but I don’t think I can handle women. They were very privileged, especially the sister of the beta female, Sheena. She’s way too arrogant.”
“Have you talked to her about her behavior?”
“Yes, Your Highness. Even the trainer in her bracket gave up on her. He was worried that he might do something that would anger our beta female Sheena,” he answered. Cindy wanted Sheena to take care of her own sister since they talked, and she requested that she take care of Lica. It’s also what I told Lance, even if I knew he was already pissed.
“What about her other pack members?”
“Those who were not in the same bracket as her were all fine with me. But not Devon, who was with her. She held him like he was on a leash or collar. The way she treated him was very alarming and concerning for me. I don’t like how she treats him either.” I think I need to meet Cindy, Sheena, and Lance to talk.
“Just handle her for now. Once your queen and Sheena, as well as Lance, come back, we will discuss this and give you an appropriate solution. You know that I don’t tolerate such behavior as well, right?” I asked, and he nodded. “But she is still Sheena’s sister, so I had to consider that. Depending on how she reacted or accepted what we agreed, the logical thing to do was to remove her from the program. This is just what Lance wanted.”
“Thank you, Your Highness. I was worried that others might think we were too soft to handle a she-wolf like Lica. I am just not used to being disrespected, and, so, as our beast, if we don’t manage to control them in time, they will definitely take over our body and do what he wanted to do.” I understand him. There are animals inside us that are somehow connected to our emotions in some way. It will cause a large problem if they are not put to rest because they won’t accept being belittled by anyone. As he left my office, I got up and decided to visit them as planned after looking into some pack reports.
I reached for the doorknob to open it, and when it swung open, Lica came in. When I saw her smile at me as if she were my mate, I furrowed my forehead and became angry. “Hi, I was wondering why you never returned to the training hall,” she said.
“I don’t see any reason for you to monitor me,” I replied with a stoic face. “Get back to your training,” I added.
“Don’t be so dense. Don’t you smell me? I want you.” She responded, and she was indeed aroused, but I couldn’t care less.
“Why would I care about it? Leave my office in this instance!”
“Because you are the only one who could give me what I wanted,” she replied, touching my chest, which made me growl at her. But she was too confident and not bothered. Instead, she leaned forward and tried to kiss me, but I was fast enough to avoid her. As Cindy will surely kill me first if she sees us before paying attention to this bitch, I move away, but she holds on tightly. I am stronger than her, so I managed to take my arms from her grip, which made her fall to the floor. Then I smelled my mate, and when I looked at the door, she was standing there with the others.
“Your mate has been rejected! How much better could she be than me?” Lica shouted, not knowing that Cindy was there to hear everything she was saying. “She’s a bitch, just like Sheena, who whores around. Is that what the royal Lycans wanted? “Women that have been passed on to different men?” she asked. I was furious, but I couldn’t help a smirk leave my lips because I already saw what would happen to her.
