Third Person’s POV
“Lica!” Sheena exclaimed in disbelief. She never thought that her sister was going to say such a thing about their queen. Lica looked at her and realized they were all there and heard everything she said. “I am really sorry, Your Highness, for my sister’s behavior.” Cindy raised her hand, urging her to stop talking and keep her head down.
Cindy walked closer, stopped in front of Alder, and kissed him. “I missed you,” she said after their long and deep kiss.
“You just don’t know how crazy I get for patiently waiting for your return.” He replied, which made her chuckle.
“I was actually expecting you to show up in the Blue Moon Pack,” Cindy said as she ran her hands over his chest.
“And get scolded by you? There’s no way I will do things that will make you mad at me, my love. I’d rather sulk here in my office than take the risk of making you angry.” He replied, which caused Lica to chuckle, so everyone looked at her.
“I couldn’t believe I heard this from a king,” she said.
“Don’t worry, you will never hear it from your mate.” Cindy replied, “If he ever finds out that you are such a sl*t, I’m sure he will reject you instantly. There’s nothing to like about you. I don’t think that you are good at anything either,” she continued. “Do you know what kind of people I hate?”
Lica didn’t answer but still appeared arrogant. “I hate people without class and decency. I hate people, especially women, who covet someone else’s property, spouses, or mates. And did you know that a person who had all of those qualities stands right before me? If I were you, what would you do?”
Lica’s jaw hardened as she knew she was talking about her. “Just because you got rejected, it means that the other woman coveted what was yours. You must have nothing and be insignificant. That’s why your mate didn’t want you,” she replied, smirking. “You can’t even mark your mate; why? Because you have a very weak wolf that couldn’t do a simple marking,” she added.
Cindy was furious but wanted to calm herself down. But what she couldn’t understand was the fact that something wanted to come out of her. “Sheena, take her away,” she said.
“What’s wrong, my love?” Alder asked, looking at her with a creased forehead. Then he looked at the others and commanded, “Charles, bring that bitch out! Now!” He exclaimed and held Cindy.
“What’s going on?” Mia asked worriedly. Cindy turned her back to them so they couldn’t see her eyes change color. Alder was worried that the witch in her had reacted to Lica’s comment. She might hurt or kill her, which he knew his mate would never want to happen.
“Go, Sheena! If you didn’t want your sister to get killed,” he added, and Charles understood, so he took Lica out, followed by the two other girls. Alder hugged her and decided to teleport her to the woods so no one would be able to see her, just in case she did something unusual. He knew there were malicious and virtuous witches and didn’t know where his mate belonged-not until they found her aunt and asked her. That is if she had any idea about Cindy’s past or her mother.
They were already in the woods, and Alder chose the part where he knew there were no roads for everyone to take. In addition, there weren’t many patrol guards patrolling. “Cindy,” he called. He noticed that her eyes were purple and not returning to their normal blue color. He feels that her power, which someone tried to hide as a witch, is slowly coming out. For whatever reason, he wanted to know why he did this to her. For him, the threat to Cindy’s life may be the main reason for this. But he’s not sure about that; that’s why he wants her memory to come back to make everything clear.
“My love,” he said, and she looked at him, but it was as if she was not seeing him. Her purple eyes dilated at the same time, and Alder was worried. “Come on, my love. Look at me; come back to me.” He said this before feeling the ground shake. He looked down and then at Cindy, who looked at him in his eyes with her golden brown eyes. As he knew, her beast was fighting her witch power and trying to take over her body in an attempt to overcome it. “My love,” he called her out again, trying to get her back to herself and control her body.
“MINE!!!!!” Cindy yelled and was about to mark him, but he avoided her. It was her Lycan who wanted to do that, and he didn’t want her to get mad at him after. He had to put some sense into her beast.
“Masha, calm yourself down. Cindy wanted to do that, too, but you have to let her know about this. Let’s not make her mad at us, OK?” He said that and that made Cindy’s wolf calm, so he hugged her. Then, after a while, he felt her hug him.
“What’s going on, Alder? What happened?” she asked.
“Are you feeling alright now?” He asked, and she nodded. “We will go back to the palace, OK?” After she agreed, Alder teleported them to their bedroom. “I am now certain you are a witch,” he said.
“Because of what happened earlier?” Cindy asked.
“Yes. Your eyes were purple, and you made the ground shake.”
“I can see you, but for some reason, I can’t hear you either. I know you are talking because I can see your mouth moving. But there was a force that kept me from hearing it. I felt it wanted me to embrace that force,” she said.
“I think we need to hurry and find your aunt. She has all the answers to everything we want or need to know.” Alder told her, which she agreed to. She saw how she couldn’t take control of her own body momentarily and felt scared that if that happened again, her mate wouldn’t be there to get her back to herself.
“Have you heard of Lance?” she asked.
“He’s coming back. He didn’t want to tell me about what he had found out and wanted to discuss it personally.”
“I hope everything is alright. He could have just told you, and not doing that means he found something not good,” she said.
“Or maybe he found something important that cannot be disclosed to others, and he was worried that someone may find out about it, so he is cautious.” Alder replied, “Stop having negative thoughts.” They never left their bedroom and asked one of the omegas to send them food instead. As for Lica, the mind linked Charles to detain her in the dungeon for the time being. He also called Alpha Remos to inform him of her disrespect and request a replacement trainee for her.
As Cindy was anxious about what had happened, she was also eager to discover more about herself during her childhood. Not remembering anything except meeting her aunt worried her. When she was still a human, she thought it was fine not to remember them. Whenever she asked her dad about her younger days, he simply answered, “You will know when it’s time.” Now that she thinks about it, she realizes that her father knew something.
