As Freya looked around, she saw Sacha.
How did she end up in a baby supplies store?
Sacha held a pink baby onesie, admiring its beauty.
After a while of contemplation, just as she was about to put it back, she noticed Freya standing at the door.
Surprised, Sacha asked, “Freya, what brings you here? Are you shopping for the baby too?”
Walking in, Freya replied, “Just passing by, thought I’d take a look.”
“Oh, I see.” Sacha thought she came here specifically.
“But if I find something suitable, I plan to buy a few things.” Freya stated.
Enthusiastically, Sacha helped pick out some items, “These that I just looked at are nice.”
All were clothes suitable for Freya’s little son.
Freya liked them and commended Sacha’s taste.
After hesitating, Freya asked, “Are you alone in this baby store?”
Sacha, feeling shy, softly replied, “Yes.”
Freya asked tentatively, “Are you pregnant by any chance?”
“Yes,” Sacha answered.
“Congratulations,” Freya expressed with a smile.
Feeling distressed, Sacha explained, “I want to marry, but Evan says he’s busy, wants to register first, I want the certificate, the wedding, to be in Country M, even though my mom’s gone, my dad’s still here, I don’t want to disappoint him, I want him to walk with me down the aisle.”
Freya agreed with Sacha.
Her thoughts were right.
“Need any help?” Freya asked.
Sacha grinned, “I don’t want to trouble you, Evan also doesn’t want me to talk to you.”
“Why?” Freya inquired.
“Evan’s busy, he doesn’t want time off,” Sacha explained.
After a pause, Freya suggested, “How about you wait for my message?”
Freya would first ask Elijah. She could not decide on her own.
Sacha was still in a dilemma as she feared Evan would be upset.
Freya proposed, “Once I have an update, I’ll inform you, then you can discuss with Evan, alright?”
“That sounds good.” Sacha smiled happily.
Carrying the purchased clothes, they left the baby store, headed to the supermarket, bought some fruits.
Leaving the mall, Freya asked, “How did you get here?”
“I took a taxi, alone at home, so I came out for a stroll.”
On reaching, Freya had the driver drop Sacha first.
Getting off the car, Sacha thanked her, “Thank you for the ride.”
“Well, I’m not a stranger. I ‘m your sis-in-law.” Freya smiled.
…
Elowen noticed the driver with numerous items.
“Did you go shopping, Freya?” She asked, surprised.
“I got off early, so I went to the supermarket.” Freya explained.
Observing the clothes purchased for the child, Elowen teased, “You know you are a mother now?”
Elowen understood that Freya couldn’t find time for the child since she had been focusing on work. And she supported Freya working. However, Freya returned early or late, practically had no time to spend with the child.
Elowen thought both Freya and Elijah should take out some time to be with the child. They could take the child out to play two to three times a month.
Freya understood Elowen’s intention, “I’ll be done with this soon.”
She had just taken over Wesley Donaldson’s role, lot of things to handle. And she didn’t have time at all.
Elowen organized the purchased items, washed, set everything in place; the fruits Freya bought were Kai’s favorites. After washing and cutting, she brought them inside.
Kai played with blocks, while the baby was sleeping.
Placing the fruits on a soft carpet, Freya sat cross-legged beside her son, playing with him. Kai played diligently, building a magnificent ship with blocks. Freya fed him fruit while Kai continued playing, paying no attention.
Freya quietly watched without disturbance. She played with her son and waited for Elijah; it was nearly eleven when he returned.
Unbuttoning his cufflinks, Elijah started, “Freya, I need to talk to you.”
About to share Sacha and Evan’s matter, Freya paused, asking, “What about?”
