Chapter 536 Seeking Revenge

Book:You Are My Mr Right Published:2024-6-4

“He works at the HY Research Center. When he entered, he was accompanied by the troublemaking vice principal,” Evan said.
Elijah immediately understood.
The vice principal’s fate doesn’t look good now.
Did he consider Freya as the target for revenge?
Was there a purpose behind that phone call he made?
With these thoughts in mind, Elijah stood up abruptly.
Could Freya be in danger at the school?
“Get a car ready for me.”
Elijah grabbed his coat. “Never mind, I’ll drive there myself.”
Evan wanted to say something, but Elijah had already walked out of the office.
He only tugged at his lip.
A slight smile appeared on his face.
It’s amazing how people can change.
He used to think that Elijah would never experience what it feels like to be nervous in his lifetime.

Freya emerged from Wesley Donaldson’s office.
And she immediately encountered a colleague who was looking for trouble.
This colleague wasn’t pleased with Freya, who was dropped into the department.
Taking advantage of her seniority in the school, she felt superior.
Treating Freya as if she were insignificant.
Just as Freya was lost in her thoughts, she accidentally stepped on the colleague’s foot, and she wouldn’t let it go.
Apologies were futile.
“Do you have eyes on the top of your head? As a living, breathing person, how can you not see me? Who do you think you’re fooling? You did it on purpose!”
Freya listened quietly.
She had already apologized.
But the other person wasn’t willing to accept it.
There was nothing she could do.
Because Wesley Donaldson’s office was not far away, and Wesley Donaldson found out immediately.
Wesley Donaldson spoke up, defending her, “Freya has already apologized to you.”
“She didn’t mean it. It’s obvious she was just brushing me off. I just put on these shoe covers, and she dirtied them. How am I supposed to enter the lab?” The woman’s name was Lane Glover.
She was in her early forties.
She had always been someone who liked to show off in the department.
With some abilities, she was quite arrogant!
“Just change to another pair, isn’t that simple?” Wesley Donaldson pulled her aside. “I’m retiring soon, why would you offend the incoming principal? What benefit do you get from it? Aren’t you afraid that because of today’s incident, you’ll face resistance in your future work?”
Lane Glover pondered for a moment. “Mr Donaldson, tell me the truth, who exactly is behind her? Look at her, she looks like a recent college graduate, holding the position of a principal. Regardless of her abilities, just based on her age and experience, can she gain people’s respect? Principal, look, I’ve been in this department for over a decade. I entered when I was in my twenties, and now I’m forty-one. Are you expecting me to bow down to her in the future… I…”
She couldn’t accept it.
If someone was better than her in everything.
She wouldn’t say anything.
But everyone in the department knew that Freya had connections.
She relied on someone influential to climb up.
Freya listened to her words, her gaze slightly lowered.
She had always known that others felt she had taken the back door.
Today, she heard it twice in a row.
It inevitably made her feel frustrated.
Wesley Donaldson spoke with a serious tone, “She isn’t without abilities. She used to work at Mede, and she was the one who brought back the research report from the previous time.”
“That’s not her personal achievement. In the end, she stole it from someone else.” Lane Glover didn’t think Freya was making a contribution.
Instead, she thought Freya was disgraceful.
She believed that with their abilities, they could achieve the same results!
Wesley Donaldson let out a cold snort.
There was some mockery in it, even using the word “steal”!
“What’s more important, your reputation or your life? Fake righteousness.” After finishing, Wesley Donaldson said to Freya, “Let’s go, ignore her. If it really doesn’t work out, when you take over, you can get rid of her.”
Upon hearing this, Lane Glover became anxious.
She grabbed onto Freya and spoke without restraint, “You only climbed up with the help of a man, right? Even if you have someone backing you, you can’t just casually drive me out of the department. Not everyone can handle the work here. If you dare to fire me, I will make sure you can’t stay here either! Don’t believe me, just give it a try!”
“How to try?”
A deep voice came from the other end of the corridor, not light but also not heavy, but it was enough to intimidate.
