Eddie was about to play the video for Adam to watch. Suddenly, the phone rang. Eddie answered the call. On the other end, there came Ronan’s screams of agony. Eddie’s grip tightened. The screams were too horrifying, making his heart pound.
He tried, “Mr Vega.”
There was no response from the other end, and the screams continued for a minute. Eddie listened for a whole minute. His face turned pale. He couldn’t imagine what kind of inhuman torture Ronan was enduring.
The phone suddenly hung up. Eddie was left dumbfounded. He couldn’t make sense of the situation.
Did the person who called him intend to make him hear Ronan’s screams?

“What’s wrong? You look so pale,” Adam asked.
Eddie shook his head. “I’m fine, just worried about Mr Vega’s safety.”
“That was him on the phone just now?”
Eddie nodded, then shook his head. It probably wasn’t Ronan who called. It must have been ordered by Elijah’s subordinates. But he couldn’t figure out the significance of that call.
Just then, the door suddenly burst open with great force. Several tall and sturdy men dressed in black suits rushed in. There were about six or seven of them. Leading the group was Evan. He raised his hand. “Capture him.”

“Search,” Evan ordered. Even he personally took part in the search.

“I’m Ronan’s cousin, and I think I have the right to know about his situation.” Adam gathered his courage.
Evan became interested in him, “I’m curious why you’re interested in this matter. Could it be that you’re also involved?”
Adam hesitated.
How should he answer, yes or no?
If he answered yes, would he also be captured?
He decisively shook his head, “I’m not involved.”
Evan didn’t capture him and left with Eddie captured. The fewer people who knew about Freya’s situation, the better. After Evan left, Adam’s legs felt weak. He moved to a chair and sat down. Looking at the scene, it seemed that this matter was far from trivial.

Evan, with Ronan’s assistant, arrived at the place where Ronan was being held. Ronan was severely injured and still lying in bed, with an IV drip attached to his hand. “You are the person Ronan trusts the most, yet you know nothing. Do you think I will believe you? You don’t need to rush to speak. I’ll give you time to think,” Elijah turned his back, “Let him think things through.”
As soon as his subordinates heard that, they immediately understood and pressed Eddie to the ground, unleashing a fierce onslaught of punches and kicks.
