Calista’s actions were sudden, catching Freya off guard. She couldn’t break free from her grip immediately and was instead dragged along.
Zane stepped forward to pull Calista’s hand away. “Let go!”
As Calista released her grip, she grabbed hold of Freya’s hair, as if crazed, intending to take them both down with her.
“You’re insane!” Zane was infuriated by her actions. “If you want to die, go ahead and die on your own!”
“No, I want her to accompany me in death!” Calista went mad, surprisingly strong. “If I’m going to die, I want her to be my scapegoat!”
Zane was cautious not to tug too hard on Calista’s hand, afraid of pulling Freya’s hair.
“Let go!”
He shouted angrily!.
Calista laughed maniacally. “I won’t let go!”
Zane narrowed his eyes, lowered his head, and bit Calista’s hand!
“Ah!” Calista cried out in pain.
Zane took the opportunity to pry her hand away and forcefully pushed her aside.
Calista stumbled back a few steps, her back hitting the window.
Zane pushed Calista again, “Get the hell away, you crazy woman! How dare you pull someone’s hair like a shrew!”
Calista slipped under the force and her body leaned backward, tumbling out of the window!
“Hurry!”
Freya sensed something was wrong and tried to reach out and grab Calista. However, she was too far away. She couldn’t catch her. Zane was stunned. He didn’t intend to push her down. He was just angry at the time.
“Someone’s dead!”
There was a commotion from the crowd below the building. Panic and discussions filled the air! There were already many reporters downstairs. They immediately rushed up. Freya knew the situation had taken a turn for the worse. She hurriedly grabbed Zane’s arm. “We need to go quickly.” she said.
Zane was still in a daze, mechanically following her lead. Instead of taking the elevator, she opted for the stairs. Taking the elevator now might lead them to run into reporters.
“Did I kill someone?” Zane asked, his voice filled with worry.
Freya tried to calm him down. “Don’t overthink it,” she reassured.
Right now, the most important thing was to get out of here. Perhaps due to their urgency, they ran down ten flights of stairs, panting for breath. Freya heard footsteps approaching from behind. She stopped and peered over the railing. There were reporters coming up the stairs. They definitely couldn’t continue going down, or they would collide with them. Quick thinking, she pulled Zane into the stairwell, finding a room to hide in. She pulled out her phone and made a call. The call was quickly answered.
“Elijah,” she said urgently, “I’m at the Globe Tower right now. There are a lot of reporters here. Find a way to lose them and come pick me up.”
“Okay.” Elijah didn’t ask any further questions. He hung up the phone and immediately rushed over.
When he arrived, he saw the reporters downstairs, as well as the police who had already arrived. His brow furrowed. He sensed something unusual. He dialed Freya’s number on his phone. “I’m here, where are you? I’ll come find you.”
“Probably around the 20th floor. I can’t go out because of the reporters.”
“Okay, got it. I’m coming to find you.” He ended the call and got out of the car.
Due to his previous interactions with the staff here for the wedding, he easily found a back entrance to avoid the reporters searching for Freya upstairs. He found her on the 19th floor. With the help of the staff, they managed to smoothly exit the building and get into the car. As the car drove away, Elijah finally spoke. “What’s going on?”
“I killed someone.” Before Freya could say anything, Zane anxiously spoke up. “It wasn’t intentional, I swear. She grabbed my sister and wouldn’t let go. I just wanted to push her away.”
Freya held his hand and whispered, “Calm down.”
Elijah called Evan and instructed him to go to the Globe Tower and gather all the information. And also, cancel tomorrow’s wedding.
A body dropped at the entrance. How could they get married tomorrow? This was so unlucky!
Elijah’s face darkened, emanating a chilling aura.
