Orion was wary of Zane. After all, before Luna lost her memory, she had a close relationship with Zane. He wasn’t sure if Luna had any feelings for Zane, but it was no secret how Zane felt about Luna. He pulled Luna behind him, his eyes showing both caution and hostility. “Why have you come here to see her?”
Zane ignored him directly. “I’m not here to see you.”
Orion squinted, his gaze unfriendly. “I warn you, don’t provoke Luna.”
Zane chuckled coldly. “You think you can deceive her just because she lost her memory? Let me tell you, I’m going to tell her everything you’ve done to her in the past…”
“You’re crazy.” Orion interrupted him, pulling Luna into the car and saying, “Don’t believe his nonsense.”
Luna remained silent, silently turning her head to glance at Zane. Zane was impulsive, and how could he stand by and watch Luna being taken away by Orion? He took a big step forward, wanting to confront Orion, but Luna stopped him with her eyes.
He paused for a moment.
“Luna…”
Luna said, “Don’t come find me again.”
Zane stood rooted to the spot. Orion opened the car door for her and told her to get in.
“Where are we going?” Luna asked.
“To the office. I have some work to handle,” Orion replied as he started the engine.
Luna frowned. “Why are you taking me with you?”
“I want to keep an eye on you at all times,” Orion said, freeing one hand to hold hers. “Since you have nothing to do at home, just accompany me at the office. After I finish, I’ll take you out for something delicious.”
In reality, he was afraid that Zane would tell Luna about their past, even though Luna had lost her memory. If Zane filled her head with nonsense, she would inevitably have doubts. That would affect their relationship. They had finally been given a chance to start over, and he wouldn’t allow anyone to ruin it.
Luna knew very well, but she deliberately asked, “Are you afraid that person will say something to me?”
“No way.” Orion denied directly, “He’s young and irresponsible. I’m afraid you’ll get hurt.”
Luna thought to herself, it was you who would hurt me, right? But she didn’t show it on her face, instead she smiled and said, “I’ll listen to you. I won’t see him anymore or believe his rumors.”
“Uh-huh.” Orion tightened his grip on her hand, relieved.
“Drive safely,” she withdrew her hand.
Orion held the steering wheel with both hands and said, “I’m a skilled driver.”
Luna lazily leaned back.
At the company, Luna sat on the couch while Orion attended to business matters. She played with her phone and searched on Baidu for what to pay attention to when burned. Avoid spicy and stimulating foods, as well as seafood, which are allergenic and can cause itching and increased growth of wounds during healing.
“I want to have seafood hot pot tonight.” Luna said.
Orion looked up and smiled indulgently, “Sure.”
Luna smiled, “You’re so good to me.”
“I’d give my life for you,” he said.
Luna found it amusing, jokingly saying, “Then give me your life!”
“Come and take it,” he reached out to her, “Come here.”
Luna walked over. Looking at his broad palm, she reluctantly placed her hand on top. Orion held her hand and gave it a slight pull, pulling her into his embrace and encircling her. Luna resisted in her heart, involuntarily pushing him away. But Orion held her even tighter, calling her name softly, “Luna.”
Luna lowered her head, “What are you doing?”
Orion leaned in close, his cheek brushing against hers, his voice low, “I want to kiss you.”
