Elowen smiled and said, “Why don’t you open them all and see for yourself?”
Freya seemed to understand and pointed at the various luxury gift boxes that filled the entire living room.
Elowen nodded.
Freya walked in, wearing her slippers, and opened the boxes.
Elowen stood by, unable to hide her joy. “So many people came early this morning and delivered these gifts one by one. I went to call you and realized you weren’t here. As the bride-to-be, you should think twice before acting. Look at yourself, you just had surgery a few days ago. Your face is still wrapped in bandages, and yet you ran outside in the middle of the night. Is that the right thing to do?”
Freya smiled and said it was not right, assuring her that she wouldn’t do it again. In the box she had just opened, there was a pair of high-heeled shoes adorned with diamonds.
She raised an eyebrow.
Elowen said, “These must be your wedding shoes.”
Freya proceeded to open the other boxes one by one, revealing custom-made dresses, festive red bedding, and over a hundred gift boxes. Inside were various wedding items, which should have been prepared by the bride’s side, as Freya had left everything to Elijah. Elijah had hired a professional wedding planning company, listing out everything that was needed, and had them prepared. Some things he even personally selected.
“Take a look at everything. If there’s anything unsuitable, there’s still time to change it,” Elowen said.
Freya looked up.
Elowen smiled and said, “That’s what the people who delivered the items said.”
Having never been married or planned a wedding, Freya had no idea what should be prepared. She coquettishly turned to Elowen, “Mom, please help me decide.”
She couldn’t tell what was missing. Elowen looked at her daughter. These were things she should have prepared herself, but she hadn’t done anything herself. She felt guilty towards her daughter and felt that it was her duty as a mother to do something to the best of her abilities.
“Alright, leave it to me.” Elowen said with a smile. She was very happy.
Freya went upstairs to rest. She was too tired.
…
The cause of the fire at Orion’s place had also been investigated. According to the police, it was an accidental fire caused by a short circuit due to aging electrical wires. The villa was severely damaged and could no longer be lived in. It didn’t even require repairs, only rebuilding. There were significant losses, although most of the valuable items in the house were in the safe, which remained intact. But everything else had turned into ashes, including the building itself. Orion didn’t choose any of his family’s properties and instead bought a new one. Luna wasn’t injured, so she was able to leave the hospital early.
Luna cooked food and brought it to the hospital. Orion, feeling sorry for her, said, “You don’t need to do all this. It’s tiring for you to keep going back and forth. I can order food, and the hospital has it too.”
“The hospital food doesn’t taste good and isn’t nutritious,” Luna replied with a smile as she brought out the cooked meal.
Orion looked at her. “Thank you.”
Luna raised her eyebrow. “Didn’t you say I’ve always been good to you? So, I want to continue being good to you!”
Orion felt a bit guilty, his eyes flickering slightly. “Although that’s true, I don’t want you to exert yourself. Are you getting used to the new place?”
“There’s nothing I’m not used to. The staff are the same, it’s just that the layout and decoration of the house are different. By the way, I brought extra food and Auntie’s portion. I’ll take it to another ward.”
“I’ll accompany you.” Orion got off the hospital bed.
“You’re injured.”
“It’s just my arm, not my legs.” Orion replied.
Luna didn’t refuse, knowing it was just for show. When they arrived at the ward, Luna placed the insulated box on the table.
Debra Russo began to doubt Luna. Although Luna always smiled and was considerate, Debra felt that Luna wasn’t as pure as she appeared. And she had only been in their house for a few days, yet incidents kept happening.
On Luna’s first day, Debra had diarrhea, and a few days later, there was a fire. Debra was almost burned to death. It was enough to make her heart skip a beat. Therefore, Debra intentionally sent Luna out.
“I want to eat an apple. Can you help me buy one?”
Luna nodded.
As the door of the ward closed, she immediately called her son over. “Orion, I have something to tell you.”
“What is it?”
“I think Luna might be responsible for the fire…”
At this moment, Luna was still outside the ward, and she overheard their conversation.
