Orion firmly said, “Yes, she has amnesia. It’s true, Mom. Be nice to her and make up for your past mistakes.”
Debra nodded repeatedly, “I will, now that you have complete control over the Russo family, I’m not afraid of losing it anymore. We don’t need to arrange a marriage for you. Of course, I want you to be with the person you love.”
Orion said, “Let’s not bring up the past in front of her.”
Debra nodded, “I know.”
Luna glanced at the mother and son whispering to each other. Her heart turned cold; she was wondering if they were plotting against her again. Luckily, she had overheard a lot of information. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know if she would be harmed again.
Orion walked in and offered to help her wash the vegetables.
Luna pushed him away, “I don’t need your help. I can handle it.”
Orion said, “You just arrived at my house. How can I leave you alone in the kitchen?”
He worried, “I don’t want you to do these things…”
“Oh, it’s not that difficult.” Luna smiled, “Don’t get in the way here. Don’t you want to eat the food I cook?”
Orion blurted out, “Of course I do.”
“Well, then go wait outside. If you linger here, I’ll get angry.” Luna pretended to be angry.
Orion had no choice but to leave the kitchen.
Debra was in the living room, observing Luna and Orion’s interaction in the kitchen. In the past, she only wanted to find a daughter-in-law who could be helpful to Orion. Her dislike and rejection of Luna were mostly due to her family background and her job. Now that she calmed down and took a good look at Luna, she realized that Luna was quite capable in housekeeping.
Orion stood at the doorway. He wanted to marry Luna immediately and start a good life with her. He thought everything was perfect now. With a good mood and a good appetite, he ate a lot during dinner.
At night, when it was time to sleep, Luna requested her own room. Orion couldn’t force her, so he agreed.
Luna sat in an unfamiliar room, but she wasn’t afraid. Her eyes were calm and determined. In the middle of the night, Orion had a stomachache and couldn’t sleep, tossing and turning. Debra also kept rushing to the bathroom. It seemed like she had diarrhea. And so did Orion. He had to go to the bathroom five or six times in an hour. Debra couldn’t take it anymore and asked the driver to take her to the hospital. Orion struggled at home all night. The next day, he was severely dehydrated. He looked pale with dark circles under his eyes.
Luna pretended to be surprised, “What’s wrong with you?”
“I’m fine,” Orion insisted.
“Would you like to take some medicine?”
“No, I’m much better now.” Orion said.
…
Stratos City.
“Our important department managers and several executives have all resigned at the same time.”
When the assistant said this, Ronan almost got angry. He had just been discharged from the hospital, and now he heard nothing but bad news. This was simply unreasonable.
“What’s going on? How could they all resign at the same time? Without my approval, they should be compensating for breach of contract.”
The assistant whispered, “They’re willing to compensate, it seems like they planned it together. Someone is up to no good behind the scenes.”
Ronan snorted coldly, “Isn’t it obvious? Besides Elijah, who else could it be?! They suddenly left, that will cause a lot of problems with our operations. But the most critical issue is that many of the departing individuals had control over our company’s core business.”
Ronan held his breath, “Get Elijah on the phone for me!”
