On the way, Freya remained silent, as if she was still mad at Elijah. Elijah freed one of his hands and reached out to grab hers, whispering, “Still angry?”
Freya ignored him; she silently agreed.
Elijah said, “You started it.”
Freya glanced at him. “I started it? Tell me, where did I start it?”
Elijah said, “You know it yourself.”
Freya sighed. If only she knew. He was clearly the one who got angry out of nowhere!
Wad he going through menopause?
Did men also go through menopause?
Or was that why he’d become so irrational?
Elijah’s phone suddenly rang. His phone was connected to the car’s Bluetooth, and he pressed the answer button. Evan’s voice came through, “Thorne is being unruly, banging on the door, shouting, causing a disturbance. I haven’t found a suitable place to confine him yet.”
Elijah’s voice turned cold. “Tie him up and shut him up.”
Evan said, “Yes…”
The call ended, and Freya spoke, “Keeping him confined indefinitely isn’t a long-term solution, and besides, Jack is sick now…”
Elijah turned to look at her. “Are you suggesting we let him go?”
“Not exactly.” Freya thought for a moment. “If we release him, he will definitely cause more trouble. If we want him to change for the better, there’s only one way.”
She would never let Elijah release him. And now she had two children to take care of. Leaving this troublemaker outside would only bring trouble upon herself. Her children couldn’t endure any more harm.
“What solution?” Elijah asked.
Freya found a pen and paper from the car and wrote down a medication name. “You can find a way, right?”
Elijah took a quick look and asked, “What is this medication?”
“A medication that will prevent him from causing any harm,” Freya said.
Elijah smirked, his little cat showing its claws again.
“I’ll find it.”
The car stopped in front of a plastic surgery hospital, and Freya got out. “I can handle this on my own.”
Elijah rested his hand on the steering wheel, staring at her. “Are you afraid that I’ll follow you?”
Freya sighed, exasperated. “I just want you to deal with Thorne’s matter quickly. When did you become so petty? Since you have the time, come in with me.”
After saying that, Freya turned around.
Elijah said, “I’ll come later.”
Freya heard him and waved her hand without looking back. “Okay.”
Although it wasn’t a major surgery, the necessary tests couldn’t be skipped. Adam Jackson would be the first to perform her surgery. The anesthesiologist administered anesthesia to her, and Adam Jackson stood in front of the operating table, smiling as he asked, “You’ve performed surgeries on others, but now you’re lying on the operating table. How does it feel?”
“I don’t feel anything,” she said.
“Do you trust me this much?” Adam Jackson asked.
Freya smiled and said, “After seeing you yesterday, I remembered something.”
“What did you remember?” Adam Jackson asked.
“The incident where you fell into the mud pit…”
Adam Jackson remembered it too. “Alright, you didn’t forget. You remember the embarrassing things about me very clearly.”
Freya laughed, her consciousness slowly becoming fuzzy. Gradually, she lost consciousness.
…
A few hours later, Freya woke up groggily. And she was already lying in the hospital room.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?” Adam Jackson asked.
Freya regained some energy and replied, “I’m fine.”
“Then rest well. If you feel any discomfort, call me anytime.”
Freya said, “Okay.”
As Adam Jackson walked towards the door, about to leave, he saw a man standing at the entrance.
