For the first time, Freya experienced the feeling of being unable to get out of bed due to soreness in her waist and legs. In the past, no matter how wild Elijah was, there was still a hint of tenderness and consideration for her feelings. But this time, it was all rough and forceful. At one point, Freya even thought Elijah might kill her like that. She had no energy left in her now.
And that man, who made her unable to get up, stood in front of the floor-length mirror, buttoning his shirt. When he saw Freya in the mirror, he asked, “Morning,”
Freya ignored him, filled with resentment.
He walked over and stood by the bed. “Not getting up? You have surgery today.”
Freya covered her head.
Elijah sat on the edge of the bed and pulled off the covers. “What’s wrong?”
Freya glared at him. “I wanted to ask, what’s wrong with you? If I did something wrong, tell me straight, don’t be so moody.”
Elijah stared at her for a few seconds. “In all your life, how many men have you liked?”
Freya thought carefully for a moment. “When did I have time to like men? Haven’t I told you before? My father forced me to learn all kinds of talents since I was young. And do you think it’s easy to get into medical school?”
Elijah stood up. “Get up then.”
With that, he walked away.
Freya was left speechless. She couldn’t understand Elijah’s behavior at all. She thought about it, realizing that she hadn’t been in contact with anyone recently. Was this anger from within Elijah?
Dragging her exhausted body out of bed, when she was washing up, she finally noticed the marks all over her neck. She was instantly burning with anger. She had surgery today. With these marks on her neck, how could she face the doctor? How could she go through with the surgery?!
She went downstairs in her pajamas, where Elijah was holding their son. She walked over confidently, took Kai from his arms, and grabbed his tie, leading him upstairs.
Elijah was dragged upstairs by her like that. Inside the room, Freya let go of his tie and interrogated, “Did you do it on purpose?”
Elijah loosened his collar. “What?”
Freya pointed at her neck. It was covered with bite marks and hickies from him. Elijah looked at it and seemed quite satisfied.
“Are you out of your mind? How can I go out and face the doctor like this?” Freya angrily kicked his leg and pounded his chest. “Elijah, you’re insane…”
Elijah grabbed her wildly waving hands and forcefully pulled her into his embrace. With only twenty percent of his strength, he firmly controlled her restless hands. His other arm, like a powerful excavator, tightly held her waist, her delicate body pressed against his. He lowered his eyes, his long and thick lashes casting a shadow over his deep, shining eyes. “Are you angry?”
Freya bit her lip and turned her head in anger.
Elijah kissed her cheek. “I won’t do it again in the future.”
Freya struggled. “Let go of me.”
“You give me a kiss, and I’ll let go.” Elijah acted childish.
Freya was about to be driven crazy.
“Let go of me first, it hurts!”
Elijah bit her earlobe and asked, “It hurt? Are you referring to the bed?”
Freya said nothing.
“Elijah, if you keep this up, I’ll really be angry.” Freya was genuinely angry.
Elijah didn’t dare to provoke her further, so he let go of her.
Freya straightened herself up and saw that Elijah was still there, frowning. “Aren’t you going to the office today?”
“Not going,” he smiled. “I’ll accompany you to the hospital.”
“I can’t go now, let’s wait a couple of days.” She really couldn’t face the doctor at the moment.
“No, there’s no time.” Elijah grabbed her hand. “Let’s go.”
“I won’t.” Freya held onto the doorknob tightly.
Elijah said, “If you don’t go, I’ll carry you downstairs. You know whether I can or not.”
That was a blatant threat.
Downstairs were Linda, Elowen, and Kai. If Elijah carried her like that, what would they think?
Reluctantly, Freya went out with him and got into the car, heading to the hospital.
