Freya’s eyes were slightly red as she turned her head away from Elijah’s gaze. “It’s nothing.”
She wiped away a tear and said, “I explained everything to my mom. She won’t scold you anymore. Let’s go out for breakfast!”
If there was any news, Elijah would definitely tell her. But Elijah didn’t bring it up, which meaned he hadn’t found anything yet. He couldn’t possibly be unaware of her feelings. As the father of that child, he felt just as upset as Freya did. But until they found something, discussing it would only bring more sadness.
Freya changed the subject, and he went along with it, talking about other things. “Evan has woken up. After we finish breakfast, let’s go see him.”
Freya nodded. “Okay.”
Elijah got up and pulled her into his arms, silently comforting her.
Freya forced a smile. “I’m hungry. Let’s go eat.”
She grabbed Elijah’s hand and walked out of the bedroom. As they walked, she continued talking. “You haven’t seen Kai in a while. Do you miss him? He’s doing fine now, but the red spots on his body haven’t completely faded yet. Don’t hold him, the spots can transfer. Wait until they’re gone, and then you can hold him…”
Freya rambled on. When they reached the living room, Elowen was there. She took the initiative to speak to Elijah. “If something like this happens again, let me know in advance so I won’t misunderstand you.”
Elijah replied, “Yes, Mom. Thank you for taking care of Kai and Freya.”
Upon hearing the word “Mom,” Elowen’s face lit up, and any remaining displeasure vanished. A smile appeared at the corner of her lips. “You two go ahead and eat. Breakfast will get cold.”
After saying that, she went back to take care of Kai. Kai was in the room.
Freya didn’t have much of an appetite and didn’t feel like eating the carefully prepared meal by Linda on the table. Elijah placed a glass of milk in front of her, commanding her, “Eat well.”
Freya poked at the seafood dumplings on the plate. “I’m not very hungry.”
As she got up, Elijah held onto her, extending his long arm to wrap her in his embrace, and sat her on his lap.
Freya furrowed her brows. “What are you doing? My mom is still here. It would be embarrassing if she sees us like this.”
Elijah knew she had reservations, which was why he acted so boldly. He picked up a translucent seafood dumpling and brought it to her lips. “If you eat it, I’ll let you go.”
Freya pouted at him.
“Hmm?” Elijah moved forward again.
The warm dumpling was right at his mouth, and he could even smell the rich flavor. She opened her mouth, bit into the dumpling he handed her. The filling inside was filled with soup, delicious and sweet. After finishing one, Elijah picked up another one and fed it to her. Freya refused to eat. Elijah parted her legs, making her sit on his thigh in a more intimate position. Freya resisted, so he held her waist even tighter, threateningly saying, “Eat well, and I’ll let you go.”
“You shameless person.” Freya said angrily.
Elijah didn’t care about anything else. He wasn’t angry either, and continued to feed her. In order for him to release her sooner, Freya had to obediently eat what he fed her. After drinking a glass of milk and finishing a basket of dumplings, she said, “I’m full.”
Elijah asked, “Really?”
“Do you want me to open my stomach and show you my fullness?” Freya said in an obviously angry tone.
Elijah couldn’t push her any further, so he had to let go of her first. Freya got her freedom, but instead of immediately getting up from him, she leaned forward and hugged his head, then bit his lips with force. And she bit hard. Elijah raised an eyebrow slightly. But instead of resisting, he looked at her with great indulgence. Freya tasted a faint taste of blood, quickly let go of him, and said, “Don’t force me again.”
Elijah smiled and replied with a single word, “Hmm.”
Freya was about to get off his leg, but slipped and fell back onto Elijah’s embrace. Linda happened to come in and quickly closed her eyes, turned around, and said with a smile, “You guys continue, please continue, I didn’t see anything.” After speaking, she hurriedly walked away, afraid of being a third wheel.
Freya’s face suddenly felt hot since she realized Linda must have misunderstood. It was so embarrassing. She glared at Elijah and said, “It’s all your fault.”
Elijah tugged at the corner of his lips, smiling, “We’re husband and wife, they understand, being experienced themselves.”
Freya glared at him fiercely, then quickly walked to the bedroom. After finishing his meal, Elijah went to the room to check on their son, then went to call Freya. Ever since Freya had a scar on her body, she always wore a scarf when she went out, covering her face and neck.
On the way to see Evan, Freya sat in the car and asked him, “I saw news of a fire today, with such a big fire, and people died inside. Will the police investigate?”
“I’ve already arranged it, there will be scapegoats.” Although they were scapegoats, those two thugs deserved it. Elijah had someone investigate, those two guys had a history of committing crimes, robbery, assault, fighting, they should have been punished a long time ago. Freya nodded. She didn’t ask at home because she didn’t want Elowen to hear. Elijah took care of it, so she could rest assured.
They soon arrived at Evan’s recovery place. Evan was already out of bed and moving around. He didn’t lie down for long, and with Sacha’s careful care, his body recovered quickly. He was exercising when the door was pushed open. He thought it was Sacha and turned his head, only to see Elijah and Freya. He immediately walked over, “Why are you here, Mr Silverton?”
“We came to see you, is your body all better now?” Freya asked.
“I’m completely fine, I was planning to check out today.” Evan looked at Freya gratefully and said, “Thank you, I heard from Orion that it was you who told him to hide me, otherwise, I would have been killed by Dina.”
He also heard about Dina from Orion.
“It’s my fault about Dina, I misjudged people and placed her next to Mr Silverton.” Evan blamed himself.
Elijah said, “It’s indeed your fault, be more careful in the future.”
Evan answered seriously, “Yes, I will definitely avoid such situations in the future.”
“Now that everything is fine, come back to work soon.” Elijah said casually. Although he didn’t show anything, he was happy to see Evan recover.
Evan knew Elijah’s temper and smiled, “I’ll go back today.”
“When you go back, what about me?” Sacha stood at the door.
Evan had decided to be with Sacha. Although Sacha wasn’t Joan’s biological daughter, she was her adopted daughter. Before being with Sacha, Evan wanted to talk to Elijah. He asked Sacha to come over.
“Mr Silverton, while I was unconscious, Sacha took care of me and stayed by my side. I’ve realized that I have feelings for her, and I want to be with her. I hope you can give us your blessing.” Evan asked sincerely.
