The person who entered was the driver. Linda, Elowen, and even Freya all thought it was Elijah. Seeing that the person who entered wasn’t him, disappointment showed on their faces. The driver hesitated, unsure if it was because she appeared at the wrong time that they had such expressions. For a moment, she stood at the doorway, unsure whether to enter or leave.
“Is there something wrong?” asked Freya.
The driver walked in quickly and handed over a phone, saying, “This was left in the car.”
Freya reached out and took it. It was her phone.
“I’ll go now. If you need anything, just let me know,” the driver said.
Anyone who could come here was someone Elijah trusted. Freya nodded lightly. After being interrupted, Elowen didn’t continue her previous anger and scolding towards Elijah. In the end, it was because she cared about her daughter and grandson. Looking at Kai sleeping soundly, she couldn’t change the current situation no matter how angry or upset she was. She could only do her best to take care of them. She knew Freya was probably the one feeling the most pain right now. Although she appeared calm on the surface, Elowen knew that Freya’s composure was just an act.
Elowen walked up to Freya and bent down to pick up Kai, saying, “I’ll take him back to the room.”
Freya shook her head.
“I’ll do it.”
Elowen silently withdrew her hand.
Freya lowered her head and looked at her son. A hint of wetness appeared in her eyes.

Dina didn’t want to see anything related to Freya and replaced everything in the residence! The once familiar place now looked completely different. After rearranging everything, she called Elijah over and asked him, “Do you like it this way?”
Elijah’s eyes were cold and deep. “Freya is gone, and I promised to give you this place…”
Dina sat beside him. “I will hand over the medicine that can save your son, but not now.”
She looked at Elijah word by word.
“I can only give it to you after you hold a wedding and marry me.” She gently leaned her head on Elijah’s shoulder. “Elijah, I’ve been by your side for so many years. Do you think I don’t know your ways? Would I give you the medicine before I get what I want?”
Soon, her tone changed. “Since you’re going to marry me, can I have the set of diamond jewelry in the safe?”
She just wanted to regain the face she lost when Evan caught her. She wanted to take everything that belonged to Freya.
Elijah stood up, staring at Dina. “Since you know my temperament, don’t push your luck. I can agree to your requests, but you also have to show me if you have the medicine.”
Dina laughed once again, “I showed it to you, can I still keep it?”
She was well aware. Once the hiding place of the medicine was exposed, or if Elijah found out where she got it from, he would surely find a way to obtain it himself. Then she would be at his mercy. She wasn’t foolish.
“I won’t bring it out until I marry you.”
Elijah underestimated Dina’s vigilance and meticulous thinking. Although he had agreed to her and was dealing with her, he couldn’t put all his hopes on her alone. He secretly sent people out to search for the medicine. And he investigated her as well. He didn’t believe that she could keep everything under wraps.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Freya was not idle either. The research center also detected the virus in the dog’s body.
“Take a look.” Sivin handed her the test results.
After reading them, Freya suddenly raised her eyes, a hint of joy flashing in her eyes as she looked at Sivin. “So this virus can be overcome after all?”
Sivin nodded.
Freya had conducted her own research at the Mede Research Center. She could understand the data that was being presented and could find breakthrough points within it. The virus in the dog’s body was not something the dog naturally carried; it was injected by someone. The most infectious disease that dogs have is rabies, and rabies is transmitted through the blood. This virus, however, is transmitted through contact with fur, which is less contagious and mostly affects young children or those with weak immune systems. And since Kai is young and has come into contact with the dog, that’s why he got infected. Now Kai had a fever and red rashes on his skin, all signs of infection. If not treated soon, it will worsen. Prolonged fever was also harmful to Kai’s brain.
Freya fell into silence. She was actually thinking. She stared at the set of test data and said, “I need a laboratory.”
Sivin said, “Sure, the dean said that whatever you need, they will provide. And there’s already a laboratory available for you to use anytime. If you need any equipment, they will do their best to accommodate you.”
Having such convenience at this time was a tremendous help for her. In order to develop a cure for Kai as soon as possible, Freya immediately went to the research lab. It was indeed the top research institute in the country, equipped with the most advanced facilities. She didn’t need anything else but just an extra pair of hands.
“I’ll assist you,” Sivin volunteered.
Freya agreed without hesitation. They started working that day. She wasn’t particularly skilled in pharmaceutical research, and she remembered Maddox Greyson. Maddox Greyson had a team of researchers and had developed cancer drugs before. If she could get their help, it would surely expedite the process. So she reached out to him. Maddox Greyson readily agreed upon hearing her request. With the addition of a professional team, Freya felt confident.
Three days later, they made progress in their research. To develop a cure for Kai as soon as possible. They worked day and night without much rest. Knowing how hard everyone was working, Freya decided to treat them to a nutritious meal from a good restaurant nearby during lunchtime. When they returned, they heard snarky comments from the receptionist, “Hey, didn’t you say you’re Elijah’s wife? Why is Elijah marrying someone else?”
That day, Sivin had mentioned that she was Elijah’s wife and mentioned the dean’s attitude towards her. The receptionist mocked her for being a liar, “I want to see how long you can keep up the act. Deceitful person, still have the nerve to come and go in our research institute.”
Freya ignored it completely. They weren’t worth her attention.
Dina was getting impatient. Well, she must be eager to climb up the ladder.
Freya brought the food to the dining area outside the lab and called everyone to eat. As she sat down on her chair, she took out her phone. There was a news alert on the screen, and even without clicking on it, she could see the headline.
“CEO of KaiGenius and His Secretary Officially Together”
Freya remained expressionless and swiped it away. She lowered her head and started eating.
Suddenly, her phone rang. She picked it up. A voice came from the other end, “Let’s meet.”
