Elena seemed worried that Elijah would mistreat Freya, so she said, “I’ll walk you downstairs.”
She held onto Freya’s arm and as they stepped out, she locked the door as if she were afraid Elijah would barge in and take Sivin away.
Freya noticed Elijah’s displeased expression. With his temper, it wouldn’t be good if he harmed Elena. She smiled and said, “I can manage on my own. You should take care of Dr Peters. He shouldn’t be alone at home.”
That was indeed true. Sivin shouldn’t be left alone.
Elena hesitated, “But what about you…”
“If I encounter any danger, I’ll call the police.” As Freya uttered the words “danger” she stole a glance at Elijah. It seemed like she was hinting at something.
Elena replied, “Good to know.”
Freya smiled and said, “I know. You should go back inside quickly.”
When facing Freya, Elena wore a smile on her face, but as soon as she turned towards Elijah, her expression turned cold as if he was an unforgivable villain.
In Elena’s heart, Elijah wasn’t just a bad person; he was the epitome of evil!
Elena entered the room, closing the door behind her. Before shutting it completely, she reminded Freya, “Be careful. If you encounter any danger, call the police immediately.”
Freya nodded with a smile, “I will.”
Freya could even hear the sound of Elena locking the door as she stood there, not leaving.
Elijah maintained a stern face and said, “If given another chance, I would do the same.” He didn’t believe he had done anything wrong. Sivin made Freya take the blame for Joan Nash’s incident and helped Freya escape from him. It was his fault.
Inside the room.
Elena muttered as she walked into the bedroom. She glanced at her husband sitting by the bedside and said, “I wonder if Freya is in danger.”
“Why would you say that? She’s fine. What danger could she possibly encounter?”
“That guy is at the door.” Elena replied.
Sivin looked helplessly at his wife, “That’s her husband. No matter how bad Elijah is, he wouldn’t harm his pregnant wife, right?”
Elena remained silent. She widened her eyes in disbelief. “What?”
“Her, her husband? Wasn’t Elijah unmarried? When did he get married?”
“I’m not sure,” Sivin thought, he must have had a secret marriage, considering Elijah never made it public or had a wedding.
Elena slapped her thigh. “I should have thought of that earlier. They appeared together, Elijah was waiting for her at the door. It’s obvious their relationship is more than ordinary. And I foolishly warned Fay that Elijah is a despicable villain…”
It was like a major plot twist.
She slapped Sivin’s thigh. “Why didn’t you remind me?”
“Well, Dr Stone was there just now, how could I remind you in front of her?” Sivin retorted.
“Freya, that girl, seemed nice. How did she end up marrying such a man? I wonder if she has suffered from domestic violence.”
Sivin helplessly told his wife, “Oh come on, stop meddling in other people’s business. Find me a clean set of clothes, I need to go out.”
“But you’re sick, where are you going? You need rest. Don’t you know your own condition?”
“I do know, that’s why I need to go out.” Sivin spoke firmly, his tone indicating his determination.
His tone conveyed his attitude.
Reluctantly, Elena got up to fetch the clothes.
…
Freya sat in Elijah’s car.
“I’m going back to the hotel.” Said she.
Elijah’s expression noticeably changed.
She explained, “I have something to do tomorrow, and I don’t want anyone to know that I left the hotel…”
“Alright, go back to the hotel, I’ll go with you.” Elijah said.
Freya wanted to say that she came back for a reason, but at that moment, Evan’s phone rang, interrupting her words.
Evan’s brows furrowed gradually, and after hanging up the phone, he looked at the rear-view mirror.
“Mr Silverton, something’s up.”
