Ronan was oblivious to being followed. He pushed open the door to Freya’s residence. Seeing the apartment number, Evan’s eyes widened. Wasn’t this Dr. Jane’s place? How did Ronan end up here? Did he know Dr. Jane?
Based on his past experiences, there must be something fishy going on. Therefore, Evan approached the door and knocked. He wanted to see what kind of relationship Ronan Vega had with this Dr. Jane.
Freya, feeling lazy and unwilling to move, heard the doorbell. Ronan went to answer it. Seeing the person at the door, he furrowed his brows. “What are you doing here?”
Evan smirked. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that? What are you doing here?” As he spoke, his gaze shifted to the interior of the apartment. Jane was sitting on the sofa, and there was a chair opposite her. If they weren’t familiar with each other, they probably wouldn’t sit face-to-face like that while having a meal.
Freya dragged her weary body over. “This is my patient. What brings you here?”
Ronan chimed in, “Yes, I am Dr. Jane’s patient. I came to her house to inquire about my condition.”
Evan didn’t believe this explanation for a second. But he didn’t expose the lie and instead decided to investigate discreetly. He had his ways. Evan smiled and said, “Ah, I see. However, I’m afraid you won’t be able to continue asking Dr Jane about her patients. Mr Silverton needs her.”
He looked at Freya. “Dr Jane, let’s go.”
Freya, exhausted from a restless night and being on edge all day, felt tired. “Mr Silverton can skip his herbal bath today. We can continue after his allergies have subsided.”
“No herbal bath, but you still need to give him a massage, right? He can’t fall asleep, so we still need you to come.” Evan insisted.
“Evan, why are you so annoying? Dr Jane already said she doesn’t have to go today. Why do you insist on making her go?” Ronan snapped.
“She’s a doctor. She has a responsibility to her patients. If she makes Mr Silverton unhappy, one word from him, and she’ll be kicked out of Mede. Are you willing to bear that consequence, Ronan?” Evan challenged.
“Don’t underestimate me. Mede is under the Lofic family…” Ronan started to say.
“We acquired their shares.” Evan interrupted.
Ronan’s expression changed. “When did this happen?” He immediately turned to Freya.
Freya remained calm, as if she had known all along.
Did Elijah have a hand in this?
“When it happened is none of your business.” Evan sneered.
Freya took a deep breath, not wanting them to argue further. “Let’s go.”
“But you…”
“Mr Vega, please leave as well.” Freya interrupted Ronan before he could say anything. She didn’t want him to say something careless.
“I have a responsibility to my patients. Let’s go.” She said as she grabbed a jacket.
Today, aside from her makeup, her clothes were relatively normal. Evan glanced at her for a moment.
Ronan followed along. “I happen to live in Auston too, so it’s convenient for us to go together.”
“I’m not interested in taking you with me.” Said Evan.
“Cheapskate!” Ronan muttered.
Evan didn’t have time to pay attention to him. He only let Freya get into the car.
Ronan snorted, “I have a car too, you know.”

Inside the hotel room, Elijah sat on the sofa. He had been pondering a question. Last night, Jane didn’t give him a massage, yet he still fell asleep. He couldn’t figure out why. His insomnia had been getting worse since Freya’s death, but now there seemed to be some improvement.
The door opened, and Evan entered with Freya.
“Mr Silverton, she’s here.” Evan said.
Elijah stood up, glanced at Jane, and walked straight to the room, saying, “Come with me.”
Evan wisely exited. Freya followed him into the bedroom. She wanted to return and rest as soon as possible, saying, “Mr Silverton, please lie down.”
Elijah didn’t immediately lie down. Instead, he unabashedly looked her up and down. Freya felt extremely uncomfortable under his gaze.
“Mr Silverton, you…”
Suddenly, Elijah took a step towards her, step by step, getting closer.
