When the three of us asked the voice that came through Catriona, who they were, someone prodded me in the chest using a finger and my vision slowly started blurring. I was watching Vivian and Vanessa arguing about something I can’t hear. Their voices felt like they were coming through the deep tunnel. I was fighting and trying so hard to keep myself steady from falling down. I tried to clear my eyes to get a clear view but before I fully opened them, someone placed the thumbs onto my temples on either side and I fell down as my body wavered.

I opened them. The first thing I saw as I opened my eyes were the birds wandering in the sky and the sounds of the ocean waves. I quickly sat up straight and darted my eyes around my surroundings. We are not happy at all Mr Jayden. He said. “Not happy about what?”. I asked him, not understanding. He stepped forward and stood closer to me but at a safer distance.

I got up from the bed and headed into the bathroom to wash in my face with some cold water. Before I did so, I laughed at myself when I saw my reflection in the mirror. I look awful. I turned on the tap and poured the cold water onto my face feeling a little relaxed. I grabbed a face towel from the bar to dry my face. As i was doing so, the doctor mind linked with me and told me that Catriona had a miscarriage again.
After receiving the news, I blocked him.
What kind of Alpha am i, who cannot even protect the woman that was carrying my children? “What made me think that I was ready to be a father? This is all my fault, I killed both my babies. I killed them. I ambled over to the mirror side and stood there staring at myself in the mirror.

I mindlinked with Sandra and asked her about Catriona’s condition. She told me that she refused to talk to anyone. Okay, I’ll be right there.
I went downstairs using the elevator and got out and strolled toward the door. Opening it, my eyes fell on Vanessa. When she saw me , she stumbled backward frightened.
Alpha….. Before she could say anything else, I grabbed her by the neck and lifted her up in the air fiercely. ” What did you do to Catriona you witch? Tell me before I kill you right now. TELL ME! I yelled at her, feeling her insides trembling too.
She chanted something under her breath and burned my hands that felt like a stab of a silver dagger. I freed her neck and she fell down.
I will explain everything to you once you’re calm. She said as she stood up and I felt bad for doing that to her. I almost killed her. Ever since she joined this family, she has been so good to everyone, including me. She’d been a mother and a granny figure to most of the pack members here and they all love her. If I kill her now they’ll all see me as a person who killed their mother and granny.
Vanessa, I called her before she disappeared into the house. She stopped and looked back at me, her eyes a bit red from my choking. I’m truly sorry for treating you in that manner. I know you can’t hurt me or the person I love. She just gave me a smile and entered the house. I’m sure if she didn’t do what she did, she would have been dead by now.
At the hospital, I found Sandra coming out of the patient room. She saw me and bowed her head at me respectfully. What happened? I asked her. She’s awake but her mouth is sealed. She said, “What do you mean her mouth is sealed? I asked, getting scared. She refused to speak to any of us. The doctor said there is nothing wrong with her mouth but she’s just not speaking. Sandra said. Okay, you may leave. She bowed again and moved out of the way for me to enter.
I entered inside and saw her staring up at the ceiling. When she didn’t notice my presence, I knew that her mind was somewhere else. I cleared my throat to get her attention not to startle her. When she saw me, she flipped around and faced me backward.
“Catriona, are you okay?” I asked and regretted asking her. Of course she’s not okay. She’d just had two miscarriages within a day. And that’s because of me. I failed to protect her.
The door was opened and the doctor entered and bowed in respect. How’s she? I asked the doctor through a mind link. She healed herself again as she did. Said the doctor. I wasn’t surprised because I have some hints from that old man who I think might be her grandfather or whatever, is the one who heals her. And Alpha, she cleared her throat. Even though she’d healed herself, give her like two weeks before you have intercourse with her again. She said.
What do you mean by saying that doctor? Are you by chance meaning to say that I’m a sadist? Is that what you mean? I asked her, my voice evenly, even though I was a little bit annoyed. No Alpha, please don’t get me wrong. What I meant is … It’s okey, i understand. I won’t do anything to her that may backfire on her.

Four days had passed and Catriona was back at the house today from the hospital. She’d been silent ever since the incident. I’m very sure and glad that at least her memory about who we are has been effaced. What made me so sure was because she doesn’t show any reactions of terror in my presence.
I was in my office getting ready for the meeting with the sultans committee to arrive. I had to postpone the meeting because of what was going on in my pack. Thank God that my face looks normal now or else Gabe would have made me into a song for a whole week.
In less than twenty minutes, Jerome came into my office and told me that the sultans committee had arrived. I got up from my chair and headed out to welcome them.
I want this meeting to go smoothly and get over with, without any of them reminding me of how powerful their king is and how he can help me in anyways if I agree to join hands with him. I said and Jerome patted on my shoulders.
“How many times do I have to remind you Jerome that I’m your Alpha?” I said to him jokingly. I’m sorry Alpha for patting on your shoulders when it’s forbidden. He said playfully with a smile and I joined him as we entered the conference room which is on the 3rd floor of the house.
We entered and I was very surprised when I didn’t see their Alpha, or king as they call him. We all bowed at each other in very much respect for each other. I was expecting to see your king, where could he be? I asked.
We apologize for that Alpha. Alpha king had some emergency work he had to attend to before he came here. He ordered us to represent him until he arrives. They said, I clenched my hands under the long wide table in anger. I swallowed my anger and looked up at them.
Isn’t that disrespectful of him. They all looked at me with their eyes wide. This meeting will not continue until he comes. I said. Alpha, what you’re saying right now is disrespectful as well. He sent us because… That’s my final word. I said cutting them off. Go back and come back with him, or you can wait here until he arrives. I stood up and went out of the conference room alongside Jerome.
We were heading upstairs to take the elevator when Sandra mind linked with me panicking.
She told me hesitantly that Catriona had run away from the house. I didn’t wait for her to continue, I blocked the mind link and rushed downstairs on the 1st floor.
I barreled outside and inhaled her scent. I immediately shifted as soon as I inhaled her and sprinted into the wood following her scent.
