I scoped my eyes around and up the trees to see whether I could get any glimpse of her. She’s not here. Where could she possibly be? Where did she go, and why did she run away? Don’t tell me that her memory wasn’t effaced? If that is the case, then I’ll never forgive myself. I’ll live with that guilt… Of killing my own babies, because of my recklessness. My heart will be irreparably damaged. What should I do now? Should I let her go in peace? Or should I bring her back and explain everything to her, and tell her that she’s free to live her life as she wishes?

I think she must have guesstimated that werewolves have knacks of smelling. So she must’ve imagined that we would find her so easily. We have to go backwards and find out where her scent began and continued.

When the pack house came into view, I came to a stop when I caught a whiff of her scent coming from another direction. She went running using that route. I said and took off into the same route she used. Her scent was leading me towards the highway. I wheeled toward the highway trying to keep a low profile just not to plow into the bunch of tourists. Her scent became stronger as I arrived at the highway. I shifted to human and darted my eyes around the area.
Her scent doesn’t continue anywhere, she must’ve used a cab and went to her home or at the hospital to see her brother. I mind linked with Jerome and told him to bring me my car and some pairs of clothes. Am certainly sure that if she didn’t go to her home, she went to see her brother. I’m going there and get her back to the house. “Exactly,” my wolf said as he perked up.
Jerome brought my car with some clothes in it. I hopped in the car after yanking my clothes onto my body and drove off. In a sudden the clouds started getting murky and I became a little uneasy. No matter what comes, I have to get her back at the house. Back to me. I also chose her as my Mate. Am going to tell her that she belongs to me , that she’s mine and hers. Be specific with your words, human. My wolf said. I am, you beast. I chose her too. And I didn’t do it because of that old man. I thought it through the past five days and made my decision. I said to him, ”And what about Sofia?” Are you over her? My wolf asked. I didn’t answer him because I don’t have the answer to his question now. I asked you, human, so answer me. “Can you stop asking me about her now?” I told you I made up my mind. I’m going to efface her out of my mind and heart. FOR GOOD. I replied to him but my body was shaking. Why am I shaking? gripped the steering wheel tightly that my knuckles started becoming white as I gazed toward the highway through the frontal car mirror. The wind is becoming heavy. I have to get to the hospital before it starts raining.

I reached the hospital and packed the car in the parking lot. I don’t know what happened to me but I still feel the agitation. I put the agitations behind me and smiled. It’s very quiet inside. The nurses who were wandering around beamed brightly when they looked at me and I saw them blushing while murmuring, “wow, he’s hot. Look at his torsos, they’re heavenly breath taking. I looked down at myself and cursed Jerome under my breath for picking out this shirt. What was he thinking about when picking out this shirt in all the shirts I have? It’s too thin. I continued with my mission as I walked through the hallway. The hospital was very quiet, everyone was minding their own businesses with their patients or relatives. As I crossed into another hallway that leads into where Catriona’s brother is, I inhaled her scent and another one I know very well.
How is it possible? What would he be doing here in the hospital, in all places? I agree with you, it’s very rare for him to be seen in these kinds of places. My wolf said. I continued walking and my agitation increased up as his scent got stronger…
I stopped deadpanned when I saw him looking at Catriona, smiling at her showing her his perfect smile with his white teeth. “Gabriel… What is he doing here? I was like watching a horror movie when I saw Catriona smiling back at him thanking him for helping her.
A nurse came out of the patient room where her brother is and smiled at Catriona. Wow, your very lucky to have such a handsome man. The nurse said. Catriona furrowed her eyebrows confused. She opened her mouth to say something to her or maybe correct her that she and Gabriel are not intimates but Gabe cutted her off, no nurse, am the lucky one to have her as my woman. I appreciate the gesture though. He said and i got the urge of shifting and rip his damn throat out. Catriona looked up at him wide-eyed. She averted her eyes from Gabriel to the smiling nurse. Am jealous of you girl. The nurse said and stormed away. Is that nurse out of her fucking mind?
Before Catriona could say something to the disappearing nurse, she saw me flaring with anger. She called my name and cowered herself behind Gabe. Don’t be afraid princess, I won’t hurt you. My wolf cried out when he saw his mate cowering behind Gabe, scared when she saw me. I knew Gabe sniffed my presence and saw me out of the corner of his eye when I emerged myself but he decided to disregard me.
Whoo…. What a coincidence jayden? Aren’t you supposed to be in the meeting with my people? He said calmly even though he sensed the situation between me and Catriona.
Catriona jumped away from him and looked up at him and to me. “Do you two know each other?” She asked frantically. Something like that pumpkin. Gabe said.
My wolf lost self control when he heard the bastard calling his mate pumpkin. He was about to shift and rip the mother fucker’s throat out but refrained himself because he didn’t want his mate to despise him more.
“Catriona, can we talk? She shook her head in refusal, and with that she leapt to her feet and went inside the patient room and closed the door behind her. I felt my wolf lowering down in agony. You, let’s have a talk. I said to Gabe. He shrugged nonchalantly. What’s wrong with this dude?
We went outside the hospital to the safer side where no one could see and listen to our conversation. Before he opened his mouth I punched him right in the face catching him off-guard. What do you think you were doing with catriona? Was this the urgent work you had to attend to? I asked him through gritted teeth feeling the temptation of shifting and tearing him limb to limb.
I was on my way to your house when I saw her waving to my car asking for help. She didn’t tell me what exactly happened to her though I wanted to know but I just found myself helping her here. He said. Thank you for being a good Samaritan Gabe, for the first time in your fucking life. And since when did Gabriel Bradley stop his car on the sides of the road and help just anyone? I know you can’t even help a dying person, Gabe. That’s not you. Now tell me, what are your intentions? And what nonsense were you talking about back there in the hospital? Why were you calling her pumpkin? I asked him, my jaws clenched.
He moved a step closer to me and gazed directly into my eyes. We are both the same size and height. He smirked at me as he trailed his eyes up and down my body.
