“Ranita, open the door!” Brendon knocked on the door, his voice carrying a low chuckle.
“I won’t!” Just as Ranita finished speaking, a man’s voice came from outside, “The hotel staff will be here soon!”
Ranita reluctantly opened the door for him, but she was still sulking. “What are you here for?”
“After sending warmth to your fiancée so late at night, you hurried over here early in the morning. Aren’t you tired?”
Ranita was truly angry. Her voice was filled with acidity and anger.
Brendon paused for a moment, then lowered his head and silently closed the door behind him. Ranita was so furious that she felt like her lungs were about to explode. Did this despicable man plan to use silence as his weapon?
“Heh, no more words to say?”
As soon as she spoke, a heavy shadow fell over Ranita’s head. She pouted her mouth in anger and glared at Brendon.
In the next second, she met his narrow eyes, which were smiling.
“What are you laughing at?” Ranita became even more annoyed. Everything was irritating her at the moment, and Brendon actually found a reason to laugh.
Brendon’s long fingers poked at her cheek, and his Adam’s apple rolled as he let out a low chuckle. He said, “Ranita, are you jealous?”
“You’re delusional!” Ranita slapped his hand away, not allowing him to touch her cheek. “Who’s jealous of you?”
“Is that so? I can sense it!” Brendon said, unable to contain his laughter. Every time he smiled, his eyebrows and eyes would lift, and his dark eyes sparkled, making it hard for anyone to resist.
Ranita stared at him blankly, not saying a word.
Brendon reached out to hold her hand and asked, “What’s wrong? How about you listen to my explanation first and then decide whether or not to be angry?”
Ranita’s heart ached, and she coldly snorted, “Fine, explain! I’m listening!”
“Last night, nothing happened between Shannon and me. I met her…” Brendon paused for a moment, then suddenly fell silent. He looked at Ranita, reached out to embrace her, and whispered softly in her ear, “I’m sorry.”
Why was he suddenly apologizing?
Could it be that something had really happened?
“Brendon, you scumbag!” Ranita struggled and punched him in the chest. She hit him so hard that her hand hurt from the impact on his bones.
Brendon grunted, grabbing Ranita’s hand and gently massaging it. “Does it hurt?”
“It doesn’t hurt! Why do you care?”
Ranita bared her teeth. “I’m not someone to you!”
Brendon saw her getting angry, and with a strong desire to survive, he spoke up, “I really didn’t do anything with Shannon… I apologize to you because of something that happened four years ago…”
Brendon briefly explained the situation.
As Ranita listened, her anger surged up like a fire. Either Robert was acting under Amiya’s orders, or it was Shannon, and Ranita was more inclined to believe that Robert and Shannon were in cahoots.
“Heh! So, before you even said anything, Shannon took a knife to harm herself? She really knows how to go to extremes.”
Ranita sarcastically remarked, still looking at Brendon in annoyance. “Once she cries, you’re rendered helpless, right?”
“Your beloved Shannon wrongly accused me and turned you against me…”
Her words were interrupted as he kissed her.
He silenced her lips, kissing her forcefully and dominantly, and then biting her firmly.
Ranita blushed from the kiss and said, both embarrassed and angry, “What are you doing! Don’t touch me!”
Brendon looked down at her from a higher position, his eyes dark and serious. He said, “She’s not my beloved… You’re not allowed to say that anymore.”
