Ranita stood on the balcony enjoying the breeze. Ayaan ran over, holding a robot in his arms, and hugged her legs.
“Mommy, are you unhappy?” he asked.
“I amn’t unhappy! Why don’t you go play with uncles?” Ranita replied.
Ayaan widened his eyes and said, “They are drinking! I want to drink too, but they won’t let me!”
Upon hearing Ayaan’s desire to drink, Ranita pinched his face and helplessly said, “You’re still young, you can’t drink! When you’re an adult, you can try it, but alcohol is not good for your health, so it’s better to drink less.”
“Then when will I become an adult?”
“At eighteen.” Ranita smiled and comforted her son, “Time passes quickly, so just wait a bit longer!”
Ayaan became happy again.
“Mommy, I haven’t seen Daddy for a long time. Can I go play with him?”
Ranita was taken aback. “Ayaan, do you miss Daddy?”
“Yes, yes! I wants to play with Daddy!” After a pause, Ayaan took out a book and pointed to the airplane on it. “I want to make this with Daddy. It’s a lot of fun.”
In fact, Ayaan was very sensible. Since Ranita told him that she wouldn’t live with Brendon, Ayaan hadn’t been causing any trouble. This was the first time he mentioned missing his father.
Ranita stroked his head, feeling heartbroken for her son.
“Tomorrow, I’ll accompany you to do it. We can also go to the park and see if it can fly, alright?”
Ayaan looked at Ranita, seeming a bit disappointed, but he still nodded obediently. “Okay, okay! I’ll go find Grandma now! You can be busy.”
Ranita did have things to do.
The doctor repeatedly asked her, so Ranita reluctantly agreed to try and find Brendon.
After hesitating for a while, Ranita dialed Brendon’s number.
However, Brendon didn’t answer the call.
Could something have happened? Negative thoughts flashed through Ranita’s mind, but no… He had Shannon by his side and even Holly. Even if something happened, it wouldn’t be her concern.
Ranita hung up the phone.
After thinking for a while, she sent a message to Allen, “Allen, do you know which hotel Brendon is staying at?”
She didn’t receive a reply to the message.
Ranita grew anxious waiting and couldn’t focus on her research. Just as she was about to make a phone call, Allen sent her a location and a room number.
Ranita decided to go and find Brendon.
Standing outside the room, Ranita was about to knock on the door when it opened from the inside, revealing a man with a cold and stern face. “Come in.”
Brendon was wearing casual clothes, but his hair was wet, and his skin had a hint of moisture, indicating that he had just finished bathing.
Under the dim light, the man’s slender neck and Adam’s apple looked especially sexy.
Ranita hesitated for a moment but still entered the room.
“I was taking a shower when you called me,” Brendon explained, handing her a glass of water. “Why did you come over all of a sudden?”
Brendon was surprised when he received the call from the front desk.
“The hospital called me. They said you haven’t fully recovered, and they advised you to stay a bit longer,” Ranita said, carefully examining Brendon and noticing that his lips were slightly paler than before.
“I’m fine now, I can leave the hospital,” Brendon replied, pausing for a moment before explaining, “Staying at the hospital is just a waste of time.”
Ranita’s heart felt heavy. She couldn’t help but ask indignantly, “A waste of time? Is Shannon so important to you? Will you accompany her even at the expense of your life, going shopping and dining with her…”
Ranita’s eyes were sour, and she couldn’t bring herself to say the rest-indulging and spoiling her, do you love her that much?
