“Brendon, what a coincidence. I didn’t expect Ranita and Mr. John to be here at the auction!” Shannon paused, ran her fingers through her hair, and smiled even brighter. “And our seats are next to each other!”
“Is that so?” Brendon nodded lightly at Ranita, his indifferent demeanor giving no indication that he had recently held her in his arms.
Ranita pursed her lips and coincidentally touched the wound that had been bitten earlier, causing a slight pain.
“Ah! Ranita, what happened to your lips? It looks like it’s bleeding!” Shannon exclaimed in surprise, friendly offering her a tissue. “Let me give you a tissue to wipe it.”
“No need!” Ranita took a tissue herself and wiped her lips. There was indeed a bit of blood, but not much. At that moment, Holly’s impatient voice rang in her ears. “Ranita, why are you so rude? Shannon was kind enough to help you, and you can’t even say thank you?”
“Heh! I don’t know which man bit her mouth, how shameless.”
The location where Ranita’s lip was bleeding was closer to the inside, slightly swollen and indeed ambiguous in appearance.
After Holly’s remark, Shannon immediately jumped in with a soft voice, “Oh, Holly, don’t be so nosy! Ranita is single. It’s normal to have some intimacy with a boyfriend occasionally.”
“Ranita, if you have a boyfriend, remember to let us know so we can congratulate you!” Shannon’s voice was gentle, but she spoke at length, continuing, “That Mr. John we saw today, could it be him?”
Ranita glanced at Brendon and said, “Does it concern you? I don’t think we’re very familiar.”
“You! How dare you speak like that! Shannon was just concerned…”
“Enough! I don’t need this kind of concern!” Ranita lifted her chin indifferently, no longer interested in talking to these people.
“Holly, don’t be angry! It was my fault for speaking carelessly and making Ranita upset! The auction is about to start. Let’s sit down first!” Shannon said, stealing a glance at Brendon’s expression and noticing that his face remained unchanged, cold and indifferent, without paying much attention to Ranita.
This made Shannon extremely delighted! She knew she could still keep Brendon!
“Brendon, please have a seat too!” Shannon said, preparing to sit next to Ranita. However, to her surprise, a dark shadow moved and Brendon quickly took the seat next to Ranita.
Shannon stared with wide eyes, looking at Brendon with a helpless expression. “Brendon, should we switch seats?”
Brendon kept his gaze forward, his expression cold. “No need, let’s stay seated. Look for something you like, and if you do, bid for it.”
“Mhmm! I mainly came with Holly to take a look. I’m actually fine,” Shannon paused, her tone changing, not too loud but just enough for Ranita to hear clearly. She said, “Thank you, Brendon. You’re so good to me. I feel so happy with you!”
Others may not have known, but Ranita almost felt like vomiting. She couldn’t help but glance at Brendon, wanting to ask him about his mood… Unbeknownst to her, Brendon had keen senses and caught her in the act of stealing a glance.
Ranita quickly straightened her posture, but unexpectedly, Brendon’s knee lightly touched her leg.
Ranita moved away.
Brendon leaned in a bit.
Ranita moved away again.
She vowed that if Brendon dared to lean in again, she would…
After waiting for a while, Brendon didn’t move.
Ranita held her breath, unsure if she felt relieved or disappointed, but one thing was certain-it made her extremely uncomfortable.
