Ranita frowned and had no patience to continue arguing with her, “Shannon, do as you please. I’m going to rest!”
Ranita was about to close the door when Shannon’s eyes turned red and she showed a pleading expression of grievance, “Ranita, actually I still have something to tell you.”
“But can I go in and talk? If we talk at the door and someone sees or takes a picture, we might be misunderstood again!”
“Let’s not talk about it then! I don’t really want to hear it either.”
“Ranita! I don’t mean anything else… I just want to discuss with you. Although what happened this time was an accident, can you please be careful and keep a distance from Brendon in the future…”
“After all, Brendon and I are engaged and we’re getting married soon! Even though your relationship is in the past, you’re also a woman and you know that women can’t tolerate any interference in matters of love.”
Shannon felt wronged and pitiful. On the surface, she was supposed to apologize to her and promise to resolve the matter, but every word and sentence seemed to blame her, accusing her of being shameless.
Ranita was tired of listening to Shannon’s roundabout sentences. She ignored her and forcefully closed the door. However, the next second, Shannon’s heartbreaking scream pierced through, “Ah! It hurts! My hand…”
The scream was loud.
Ranita instinctively opened the door, about to say something, but a low growl interrupted, “What’s going on?”
“Brendon! My hand…” Shannon was already teary-eyed, swaying her body and extending her swollen fingers, saying, “My hand got caught in the door! Brendon, Ranita didn’t do it on purpose…”
“It’s my own fault!”
Saying that, Shannon’s body went limp as if she was about to faint. Brendon, sitting in the wheelchair, reached out and scooped her onto his lap.
Shannon acted coquettish and pitifully said, “My hand hurts so much!”
“Ranita, what happened?” Brendon asked.
Ranita watched coldly and said, “Didn’t you see it? If you want an explanation, then Miss Murphy willingly walked into a trap.”
“Brendon, I didn’t mean any harm! Don’t you know what happened online? I came here to apologize to Ranita, but who knew…”
Shannon sobbed and burrowed into Brendon’s embrace.
Ranita’s heart clenched.
“Brendon, my hand hurts. Can you take me to see a doctor?” Shannon choked, “I have a performance in a few days. If my hand is injured… what am I going to do?”
Brendon felt frustrated. He didn’t want Shannon sitting in his lap, but given her current state, he couldn’t push her away.
“Ranita…”
“Mr. Stuart, just take Miss Murphy to see the doctor! And if you don’t want to get hurt in the future, don’t bother me!” Ranita didn’t explain much. After all, even if she did, he might not believe her, so there was no point in wasting her breath.
Ranita slammed the door shut.
Cutting off everything, Ranita suddenly felt a wave of discomfort in her stomach. She comforted herself, telling herself not to be upset, that it wasn’t a big deal, and she could get through it.
Outside the door, Allen rushed over, and Brendon immediately called out to him, “Allen, help Shannon and take her to see a doctor.”
Allen saw Shannon stubbornly sitting in Brendon’s lap and felt a twinge of disgust, but he reached out and helped her up, saying, “Shannon, where do you feel uncomfortable? I’ll take you to see a doctor!”
Shannon was unwilling.
Allen forced a smile and said, “Brendon is still recovering! If you keep pressing on him like this, he’ll get internal injuries!”
