Chapter 541 Interference

Book:A Successful Career After Divorce Published:2024-6-4

This was the first time Ranita had ever said such harsh words to someone.
Although she wasn’t a biological child of the Bowman family, she had grown up in their wealthy household since childhood. Her parents were cultured people who had taught her to be friendly and polite to others.
“Ranita… how could you say that about me… I didn’t do anything wrong… I just wanted to apologize to you!” Shannon’s voice trembled with tears. “I didn’t say anything bad, I just came over to return the bank card for Brendon.”
So pitiful, so aggrieved.
Ranita’s heart turned cold as steel, and she felt extreme disgust towards Shannon.
“If he wants to return the card to me, let him do it himself!” Ranita raised an eyebrow, her gaze cold and sharp. “As for you, don’t appear in front of me again.”
“Ranita…” Shannon looked at Ranita with a deeply resentful expression, tears already streaming down her face. “Don’t be angry, I’ll leave right away! Although I know you don’t like to hear it, I still want to say it again…”
“If you know I don’t like to hear it, then don’t say it!” Ranita interrupted her. “Shannon, please leave!”
Ranita slammed the door shut.
Shannon’s pitiful expression instantly shattered, replaced by anger and fury in her eyes. If one looked closely, her face was already contorted.
“Miss Murphy… Are you okay?” A passing nurse approached with concern upon seeing Shannon’s red-rimmed eyes. “Do you need any help?”
“I’m fine… It was just a fight with a friend! But she didn’t mean it… It’s my own problem,” Shannon vaguely replied, smiling at the nurse. “Thank you for your concern, I’ll go back now.”
The nurse, who happened to be a die-hard fan of Shannon, immediately shared the incident with her friends. Little did they know that the news would be distorted as it spread…
By the time Eve discovered and told Ranita about it, her blurry picture had already made it to the hot search rankings, with the headline being her interference in Shannon’s relationship with her fiancé…
“Ranita, it’s obviously Shannon’s fans causing trouble! It’s so ridiculous. Do you really need to interfere with her and Brendon? If you had stubbornly refused to divorce back then, she would have been left to eat dirt!” Eve was so angry her throat felt torn.
Ranita, on the other hand, remained calm.
“Eve, calm down. I’m fine,” Ranita pursed her lips and calmly analyzed, “If she really comes to me, I don’t mind giving her a taste of the limelight.”
After a few more words, Eve had to go attend to her own matters.
Just as Ranita hung up the phone, Shannon arrived. Ranita smirked, “What do you want?”
“Ranita, can I come in and talk?” Shannon pleaded.
“Not good! If you don’t want to talk, then leave!” Ranita tried to close the door, but Shannon held it back. Anxious and remorseful, she said, “Ranita, I just found out about the online incident. I’ve already taken care of it and I promise it won’t affect you.”
“But right now, the heat is quite high, and it will take some time,” Shannon said.
Ranita coldly chuckled, “That’s for the best! Shannon, if it really comes to me, I’ll have a good talk with you.”
“Ranita… I’m sorry! This time, it really came unexpectedly, I didn’t know what happened! Those fans were only doing it for me, they weren’t specifically targeting you, and there was no ill intent… Ranita, don’t take it to heart.”
Shannon’s words were as good as saying nothing.
Of course, Ranita didn’t expect her to genuinely repent.
Had Shannon ever been sincere when she said one thing to her face and did another behind her back?
