“Is this guy thinking something?” Ranita reached out and twisted his arm, warning through gritted teeth, “Brendon!”
“What do you want?”
Brendon hugged her, the soft and fragrant beauty in his arms. Of course he had thoughts, but seeing Ranita’s angry look, he extinguished the inappropriate ideas. He held her waist with both hands and put her on the edge of the bed.
The fair legs were pressed against the bed.
Brendon’s Adam’s apple rolled as he struggled to move his gaze away. He took her pants and slipped them onto her feet.
“You…” Ranita was confused.
“What are you doing?”
“You’re so clumsy that you can even fall while putting on your pants!” Brendon said softly before giving her a glance. Ranita’s ears were still hot from being mocked by him, and now even her back was heating up.
“You’re the clumsy one!” Ranita grabbed her pants and kicked him with her foot. “Get out!”
Ranita exploded in anger as Brendon obediently left.
“Are you okay now?”
Ranita took a moment to relax. Just as she had changed her clothes, she heard a knock on the door. The man’s voice was very pleasant, “Can I come in?”
Ranita opened the door. “Why are you so free?”
“I signed a tour guide contract with you these past few days, didn’t you know?” Brendon leaned against the door. “Come out and have something to eat. I bought lunch.”
Ranita shook her head weakly. “No, I’m not hungry.”
Just as she finished speaking, her stomach growled at an inappropriate time. Ranita awkwardly explained, “I really am not hungry.”
“Eat!” Brendon grabbed her hand and dragged her to the dining table. “Have some food, take medicine if you’re tired, and continue sleeping if you need to.”
Ranita didn’t really feel like eating, but she thought about having to go to the kindergarten later. If she didn’t eat, she would definitely have no energy.
Ranita took a few bites and looked at Brendon. “I appreciate your kind help, but I have something to do this afternoon, so you can go back after you finish eating.”
“Setting aside the contract, you are my… ex-wife. If you’re sick, I can’t just stand by and do nothing.” Brendon pursed his lips, staring at her for a moment, and then said, “What’s happening this afternoon? You’re sick and need to rest at home.”
Ranita wasn’t going to tell him about the sports day.
“It’s none of your business.”
Ranita wasn’t good at lying, and her contradictory words immediately gave Brendon a clue. He put down his fork and asked, “So, you’re saying your plans this afternoon have something to do with me?”
Ranita chuckled, “If you don’t understand, I can translate it into any other language you like!”
“Ranita! You’re sick, and your foot is twisted. Are you sure you want to go out?” Brendon thought for a moment and guessed, “Is something happening at Ayaan’s kindergarten?”
Ranita looked away. “No!”
That meant there was something!
“I understand now. I’ll accompany you this afternoon!” Brendon cleaned up the trash on the table and tidied it up very seriously.
Ranita didn’t react for a moment.
She didn’t even know that Brendon would do these things!
“Why are you staring at me like that?” Brendon sat down across from her and handed her a cup of water. “Take your medicine in fifteen minutes.”
Ranita snapped out of her daze, feeling a jumble of emotions inside.
Brendon seemed to have changed a lot in four years.
“No need, I can go by myself!” Ranita still refused Brendon’s involvement.
Brendon frowned. “Ranita, don’t be stubborn!”
Ranita strongly refused, but like a piece of sticky toffee, no matter how she tried to shake him off, she couldn’t. Ranita was forced to bring him along to Ayaan’s kindergarten.
