“Mr. Stuart…” Julia trembled in fear as she looked at Brendon, but managed to calm down a bit and say, “Mr. Stuart, it’s been a while! Is there something you need?”
Brendon was dressed in an expensive suit that tightly wrapped his sturdy body, giving him an air of arrogance and aloofness that didn’t quite fit with the simple house they were in.
He took a step forward and glanced over the scattered luggage before turning his gaze back to Julia. “Julia, where are you going?”
“I… I’m not going anywhere,” Julia stuttered out as memories of her past four years flooded her mind.
Back then, she was fired.
Afterward, she faced setbacks everywhere in Kurima and couldn’t find a good job at all! She had become accustomed to the good environment and high salary at Stuart’s Corp, and she couldn’t settle for a job that was even slightly inferior. But even the positions she used to look down upon were rejecting her outright!
Brendon blacklisted her.
He forced her to leave Kurima.
Since graduation, she had been struggling in Kurima, and her family had spent a lot of money to support her. Without a job, they had no security, and on top of that, she had a paralyzed brother who needed money every day.
“Why don’t you tell me…” Brendon’s polished shoes stepped closer, and he looked down at her from above. “Why did you hurt Ayaan?”
“Who sent you?”
Julia hated Shannon with all her heart, but if she revealed Shannon’s identity, what would happen to her brother?
Both of them were intelligent, and they understood the need to make choices.
Shannon had always had a firm grip on her.
“I don’t understand what you’re saying, Mr. Stuart… Did you misunderstand something? I’ve only recently come to Berlin, and I’m not familiar with the place. I never expected to encounter you! If I’ve offended you in any way, I apologize.”
Brendon couldn’t be bothered with words.
He shouted to the people outside, “Take care of her!”
Two fierce foreign men entered, clearly not someone to be trifled with. If she fell into their hands, it would be a fate worse than death! Julia’s eyes widened in terror, “No, no, no! Mr. Stuart, please, I beg you, I was wrong! Please spare me! Remember all the hard work I put in at Stuart’s Corp, spare me this once!”
Julia burst into tears, falling to her knees, and pleaded desperately, “Mr. Stuart, I was truly wrong! I was just confused for a moment, I never intended to harm that child! I was just so angry. When you kicked me out of Stuart’s Corp, I held a grudge! I know I was wrong, I truly know it!”
“I never actually wanted that child’s life, I just wanted to vent!”
Julia dared not say that she had gone after Ayaan’s life; if she did, Brendon might stomp her to death on the spot.
Brendon’s face turned incredibly cold.
He never expected that it was because of him that Ayaan had suffered.
“Tell all of this to the police!” Brendon turned and walked away.
Julia was taken to the police station by Paul’s men. With sufficient evidence and her own confession, she was immediately detained.
As for the aftermath, that was the job for the lawyers.
When Brendon returned to the hospital, Ranita was next to him, sorting out Ayaan’s things, while Ayaan sat on Jedidiah’s lap, reading a storybook together.
Ayaan showed a toothy grin, giggling and hugging Jedidiah’s neck, playing intimately with him.
The woman watched them play quietly, her profile shining with a radiant smile.
This scene stirred up a whirlwind of emotions in Brendon’s heart.
Even though they were his child and his wife, they seemed like a family of three with another man…
