Her consciousness became blurry, and the pain in her body seemed to diminish. People around her were screaming, brakes screeching, and someone was shouting “Call 911! Is there a doctor? Someone is hurt!”
Ranita lay on the rough ground, her blurred pupils seeing a security guard running towards her… her heart filled with despair.
She couldn’t be taken away.
Something flowed into her eyes and Ranita blinked unconsciously but found that she was too much in pain to even move her eyelids.
At first, Ranita’s mind was chaotic. After passing through the confusion, she thought of Brendon. She missed him so much! She missed her friends and parents whom she hadn’t seen for a long time…
“Move aside!” The security guard pushed through the crowd but was stopped by someone else. “Who are you guys? She is injured; wait for 911 to arrive before doing anything! Don’t move around!”
Ranita chose a relatively large intersection with many cars passing by. She felt guilty about causing trouble for pedestrians but had no other choice.
“We know each other; please let us take this person away…” The security guard wore sunglasses and dressed all in black with an intimidating aura that made passersby afraid to speak up.
