Ranita’s head was spinning, but she knew that if Robert really took her away, it wouldn’t end well for her.
So…
Ranita glanced out the car window from the corner of her eye.
The streets flew by at a fast pace.
“Robert, I have a question to ask you.” Ranita bit her lip and spoke hoarsely. “Did Amiya send you or Shannon?”
Robert raised an eyebrow and saw that she was struggling even though she was about to die. He began to enjoy playing with his prey! Robert smiled. “Ranita, does it matter?”
“It does… Was it Amiya or Shannon?!”
Amiya hated her, but Brendon said for her to leave. Amiya shouldn’t go against Brendon’s wishes.
So…
“Was it Shannon? Last time when Turner kidnapped me, wasn’t she involved too?”
When she mentioned his son, Robert’s emotions became somewhat uncontrollable. His face turned dark and gloomy, “You bitch! How dare you mention my son?! If not for you, how could he have had his legs broken by Brendon and be forced to go into hiding in the mountains without daring to show himself at Boulderland Mansion again!”
“Not only that but you completely ruined him!”
“Ranita, you deserve death!”
Robert glared fiercely at her as if he wanted to strangle her neck again.
Ranita’s lips turned pale as she smiled slyly, “Shannon instructed Turner, didn’t she? Robert, we don’t have any grievances between us so why break the law for Shannon?”
“Why not let me go?” After pausing briefly, Ranita continued speaking, “Although I divorced Brendon now, he doesn’t tolerate anyone who crosses him; if he finds out about this, do you think everything will be okay with you?”
“If you release me, I’ll pretend nothing happened. Robert, I know you harbor resentment against me because of Turner’s incident, so Shannon instigated you to abduct me, and you agreed. But have you ever thought… if someone as big as me suddenly goes missing, won’t my friends look for me? If this matter comes to light, what loss would Shannon suffer?”
“At most, she’ll shed a few tears and make a half-hearted apology. But you… Robert, have you ever considered? Are you really willing to be used as a pawn?”
Robert hated Ranita to the core, but everyone knew Turner’s fate. Robert felt uneasy, knowing that if Brendon found out about this, he might not only lose his place in Boulderland Mansion but also end up in prison.
Robert’s expression turned pale, and he hesitated.
“Ranita! Don’t try to persuade me. Once the bow is drawn, the arrow must be released. If I let you go, Shannon won’t spare me! Moreover… you’ll soon realize that there’s no escape from a place where prayers go unanswered.”
Negotiations broke down.
Ranita pursed her lips and suddenly chuckled softly.
“Ranita, why are you laughing?! Facing death, and you can still laugh…” Robert looked at Ranita in astonishment, almost thinking she had gone mad.
“Robert, has anyone told you that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree? Your son’s current situation is all because you didn’t raise him properly!”
The corners of Ranita’s lips lifted, her pale features filled with determination.
“Crack!”
Ranita manipulated the car door handle, exerting the last bit of her strength to push the door open, then rolled out while clutching her head…
In fact, Ranita had no certainty.
There have been many tragic cases reported in the news where individuals thrown out of car doors suffered severe injuries due to either a strong impact or being run over by subsequent vehicles.
Pain overwhelmed her from all directions.
Ranita’s mind became blank, leaving only the sensation of agony!
