“You!” Holly’s face turned red with anger, “Ranita, what are you saying…”
“Holly, don’t talk like a shrew. You’re always calling people names. Do you think everyone is like you?” Ranita retorted without hesitation.
Holly was about to explode with anger and stomped her feet in place. “Ranita… you’re asking for it…”
“Holly, besides bullying others, what else can you do? You keep talking about fighting and killing all day long. Don’t jump over the legal line or one day you might really end up in jail!”
Not only Holly but Shannon was also stunned in place.
They never thought Ranita could be so scary when she got angry.
“Ranita, shut up! Watch how I deal with you!” Holly rushed towards Ranita, who took out her phone and said, “Holly, I advise you not to be so impulsive. There are surveillance cameras everywhere in the neighborhood. If you lay a hand on a pregnant woman, you’ll end up behind bars!”
“Beep beep beep,” Ranita spoke into her phone, “Security room? I’m having a bit of trouble here…”
Holly was grinding her teeth.
Shannon immediately held Holly, trying to calm her down, “Holly, don’t be angry! Ranita didn’t mean it. Let’s talk calmly.”
Shannon turned to Ranita, “Ranita, please don’t act like this. You know Holly’s temper; she means no harm.”
Shannon stared with shy, teary eyes, her cheeks tinged with red, appearing delicate and pitiable. “Ranita, if you have a problem with me, just let it be. Don’t bother with Holly.”
Heh heh! Wasn’t Holly’s behavior intentional? What would be considered intentional then?
As they say, two can’t talk unless they agree. Ranita didn’t want them to continue entangling with her, so she smirked and said, “Be careful! If Miss Murphy faints in front of me later, it’ll be my fault.”
Shannon, with an embarrassed blush on her cheeks and tear-filled eyes, looked pitiful and wronged.
“Ranita… You’ve misunderstood me! I didn’t mean any harm by coming here. I just wanted to see you…” Shannon said, swaying as if about to fall.
Holly quickly held her and angrily shouted at Ranita, “Ranita, what are you doing! Shannon, who had good intentions, mistook you for a scoundrel. She’s already suffered a miscarriage, and you’re so heartless.”
“Is calling the only thing you know how to do? Humph! I’ll call my brother too, and let him come and see your true colors.” Holly called Brendon and angrily shouted, “Brother, come quickly! Ranita is bullying Shannon.”
Brendon, who had just left, returned not long after.
Ranita’s heart pounded frantically.
Too many times, she had been entangled in such unclear situations, and she was tired of it.
“Brendon…” Shannon called out in a sweet and heartbroken tone. Her pale face, tinged with a sickly white, quivered, resembling a startled little deer.
Brendon furrowed his brow, reaching out to support Shannon. Holly, still chattering incessantly, accused Ranita, portraying her as a witch who stole the beautiful singing voice of a mermaid princess.
Seeing that Shannon was about to speak, Ranita preemptively said, “Brendon, take Shannon and Holly away. Don’t bother me anymore!”
Having said that with a stern face, she left without looking back. At the corner, she caught a glimpse of Shannon, soft and crying in Brendon’s arms.
Love and affection, seemingly harmonious.
Ranita’s heart was tugged and subtly ached.
Brendon was a big liar.
Where did his concern for her come from?
