He stood afar and saw them get together and drove off. Was he wasting his time in pursuing Rita agan?
He was suffering torture because of her and she was already seeing someone else? It was as if his headache was pounding him afresh with a fuller force.
He got back into his car but couldn’t drive. Rita had slipped off his hand and he couldn’t do anything about it.
No, he wouldn’t believe it. Perhaps they are friends and no strings attached. He would go to her one more time and if she confirmed seeing someone else, he wouldn’t go after her again.
How he was able to drive back to his Mansion he doesn’t know. He just saw that he arrived home. He went to his room and laid on the bed.
He took his drugs but skipped the pills. He would take that at night and hope this one would work for him.
When Lanre left the hospital, he drove to Julia’s place. He met Theresa and Junxie there. Julià just sat looking tired and weak.
Lanre apologised and said he was having a surgery and couldn’t make it. Junxie said it was nothing. His doctor had attended to him.
But it seems he isn’t getting better. He wants to suggest that they go to the hospital.
Julia got closer and looked at the drugs prescribed for him. “Are you still having insomnia?” He asked
Junxie Li was surprised. He had seen the drugs but didn’t know what they were meant to cure. Julia was having Insomnia?
Julia nodded and Lanre was angry “how could you not tell me when you are still suffering from it? How can you stay for weeks without sleeping normally and expect to be fine?..”
Julia felt like a little Child that was being scolded. “I didn’t want to bother you” was the reply Julia gave.
” Bother me,” you said? I was trained to be bothered by health issues. How can you be this negligent about your health Julia..”Lanre scolded.
“What can we do now brother?” Theresa Mo asked. “This drug isn’t going to work on him if he’s been experiencing insomnia for a few weeks now,” Lanre declared.
He got Zack’s cell phone number from Junxie and went aside to talk to him for a few minutes. When he returned, he wrote some prescription on a paper and asked one of Julia’s chauffeur to get the drugs.
“The problem of the heart is really affecting you Julia and it’s becoming a psychological case.
If you let this depreciate further, it would lead to depression. You have to put your mind at ease and let things take it’s natural course..” Lanre was coaxing him.
It wasn’t easy, he knows but he had to be strong. If he affects himself so much how will he appreciate Rita if she eventually comes back to him?
“Oh, it’s the thoughts of Rita that has driven you to this point? I wish you had realized your feelings earlier before things got this complicated..” Junxie Li stated.
The chauffeur soon arrived and delivered the goods. Lanre collected it and examined it closely and asked if Julia had taken his dinner.
” He has eaten but I don’t know if it’s breakfast or lunch,” Junxie Li replied, when they arrived Julia had said he hadn’t eaten anything that day.
So it’s most likely to be breakfast taken at dinner Time. Lanre understood and pulled some injections and gave Julia two out of them.
Junxie Li just stood by, he felt pity for his brother but he knew he was paying for his sins.
It wasn’t quite three minutes and Julia was dozing off. “I will help you to your room” Theresa Mo offered and Junxie just stood with his hands in his pants pocket and didn’t give a hand.
Theresa helped him to his bedroom. As soon as she left the sitting room, Lanre said “Junxie, you really have been working hard these days. I applaud your prowess”
Junxie Li was lost. “What do you mean Lanre?” He asked, not understanding exactly what he was saying.
“I mean the evidence of your hard work is showing its results in my sister..” Lanre said and started laughing.
Junxie Li smiled. Lanre’s laughter is contagious. Lanre saw Junxie was still lost and he said “Theresa is pregnant but it’s still very early”
Junxie was surprised and wanted to ask Lanre a question when Theresa returned. “How is he now?” Lanre asked, looking at Theresa intently.
“He was almost dozing off before we arrived in his bedroom. I hope this works for him this time. He is such a nice guy..” Theresa stated.
Junxie Li glanced at Theresa but didn’t see anything unusual about her that might indicate she’s pregnant. But Lanre is a doctor and might have his own way of knowing without diagnosing.
“How have you been these days sister? I hope you are not often tired and stressed out?” Lanre asked, holding her and bringing her to sit on the sofa.
“I haven’t been doing anything actually. All I do is sit and wait for the day to arrive..” Theresa replied.
“Better. Just relax. Besides, don’t you like taking supplements?” Lanre asked, looking so concerned.
Theresa smiled. ” The last time you asked these kinds of questions was when I was pregnant with my boys. I don’t like taking supplements except when I am pregnant and I am not pregnant yet”
“Mm.. mm” Lanre grunted and smiled broadly. Junxie Li said she could take the supplement despite she claim not to be pregnant.
When they parted, Junxie Li was quiet till they got to their Mansion. Theresa herself doesn’t know yet that she’s pregnant otherwise, she would have told him.
Theresa said she wished that Julia had a good sleep. He hasn’t been feeling well for days and he looked pale.
Junxie Li didn’t give her words a thought. They both have different thoughts and what was bothering him was different from what was bothering her.
Since Theresa was pregnant with his child, this time he would treat her fragile. He didn’t have an opportunity to be there during the pregnancy and birth of the boys.
But now, his shoulders are available for her to lay her head on. He would stand up to his responsibility this time and watch his baby bump grow.
“… or do you have an objection?”Theresa asked and waited for Junxie’s response. The latter glanced at her and was lost.
” What were you saying?”
