Junxie Li asked and stared clueless at her. She asked him if he had an objection. Objection to what?
“You weren’t listening to me right? What’s the matter?” Theresa asked, intertwining her elbow with his. She looked up at Junxie with a smile.
The latter smiled faintly and kissed her temple. “Not really, my mind did a little wandering but I am with you now..” he twisted it.
” I was saying Julia’s adopted daughter is in the boys quarters. I hope you don’t object to her spending the night there?” She repeated.
” No, if she doesn’t cause trouble for the boys. Besides, was it the agreement between the both of you to bring her over to the boys quarters?” Julia inquired.
“Oh no, I only suggested that she would catch up early when she mixes with kids like herself but not to live with the boys.
If Julia wasn’t having a challenge, he would have come over to pick her to his place…” Theresa explained.
Junxie didn’t ask again. He is happy that he will be expecting a baby in a few months time. So nothing was capable of making him upset at the time.
“You and I are going for some pre-wedding photos. The wedding planner demands photos from us.
So I guess we would be a little busy tomorrow, taking the helicopter if the venue is a bit far to ride in a car.
But I want you to rest well early so you don’t get stressed out..”Junxie Li requested.
Theresa Mo said ok and that implies that the company might be without a President and vice president the next day.
Next morning, Julia woke up at half past seven. He felt light, robbed his face and then sat up.
He looked at the bedside clock and was dazed, past seven? He really slept peacefully despite the nightmares?
How was that possible? It wasn’t scary anymore but he slept all the same. He got out of bed and went to relieve himself in the bathroom.
Gosh, in days, he hadn’t really slept. In Fact after that the loss of Rita’s pregnancy.
That reminds him he was going to see her that day. She has to give him an audience. After apologising to her, he would ask her the simple question if she was seeing someone else.
He soon took a bath and got dressed. His daughter was still in Junxie’s Mansion. His chauffeur drove while he instructed him to stop by in his brother’s Mansion.
He got there and went to see Amaya. The kids were through with their breakfast and were chatting when Julia arrived.
Amaya saw him and jump on her feet, running towards him ” daddy, daddy”
Julia hugged her and smiled. His nephews also ran towards him and he lifted them off their feet.
He kissed their Chubby cheeks and caressed their hair.”Little Junxie’s” he muttered.
Junxie stood by the door and heard him. His face expressionless, he stared at his brother’s back view.
He seemed to be fine that morning and talked like his usual self. ” Daddy!” Tim chimed and ran past his uncle to his father.
Lee also did the same and Amaya stood lost. She doesn’t know what to do or how to call this man that looks so much like her daddy.
Junxie lifted the boys and threw them in the air and caught them again one after the other and they giggled loudly.
” Come to Unce Amaya” Junxie Li invited and the little girl smiled, ran towards Junxie ” Uncle” she said.
Junxie Li lifted her and threw her into the air and then caught her. But he didn’t place her down but carried her in his arms and looked at her.
Junxie Li smiled. If the baby in Theresa’s belly turns out to be a girl like she wished, he would be carrying her like he was carrying Amaya, so sweet and delicate.
“I am Tim and Lee’s father. But I am your uncle. Next time, when they run towards me, you run as well. Is that clear?” He asked.
The little girl nodded and Junxie said she should say it with her mouth. ” Yes, uncle” in a thin voice.
Her voice is really feminine and tender. He kissed her temple and placed her down. She soon ran off to join the boys.
“She’s really getting along with the boys more than I had thought” Junxie said like a whisper but Julia heard and smiled.
“Good morning brother” Julia greeted. He wonders why his brother was still casually dressed. Wasn’t he going to the company?
“Julia, how are you this morning?” Junxie asked, walking away and Julia following him. He came to see how the boys are doing since he couldn’t stop by the previous evening to check on them.
When he saw Julia, he knew it was going to be better than to tell him straight away that he wasn’t going to be in the company.
They walked through the paths between the main mansion and the kids quarters. ” How’s your health, did you sleep well?” He asked without looking in Julia’s direction.
” I am better than I was yesterday. I woke up this morning feeling refreshed” Julia replied and Junxie nodded his head and said nothing else.
“You are dressed like someone who is not going to the office. Are you not coming?” Julia asked.
” I won’t be in the company early or may not be around at all, It all depends on how fast everything went.
Theresa and I are going for pre-wedding snapshots. So you take care of the activities of the company till my return…” Junxie instructed.
” Ok. I wish you and Theresa the best” Julia commented and the two brothers hugged themselves.
Theresa and Junxie had gotten into the car, and were heading to the first venue where the snapshot would be taken, when Junxie Li received a call from the police.
” Hello, is this Junxie Li from Li’s family? Your car with plate number XXX has been involved in the ghastly accident and we need you to come over and identify the corpses…”
Junxie’s hands were stiffened even after the call ended. That is his Lamborghini. That was his second best car and he had let Theresa ride in it as her own after she came to his Mansion.
Accident and corpses were involved? How did it happen? Shouldn’t the car be in the garage since Theresa was riding with him in his private car?
” What happened Junxie?” Theresa asked, holding his hand and bringing it down to her thighs.
He answered a call and became extremely quiet. What happened, was there bad news?
” Where is your car, I mean the Lamborghini?” Junxie Li asked.
