Julia suddenly became gloomy. He sighed and turned his face away, biting his lower lip.
Theresa saw his actions and his sudden Change of mood and wondered if she was wrong to have asked him such a question.
“Theresa, my life hasn’t been the same again after Rita left me. I went to see her in the hospital before she was discharged and you can’t imagine how insulted and humiliated her brother treated me.
I endured it because it was I who did wrong. Alfred even pushed and would have rumpled my suit that day and Rita watched on without a word.
I had to leave her place that morning. I went to her house to see her after she was discharged and it wasn’t only Alfred who attacked me at the time but her mother as well.
She categorically told me not to come find her daughter again. She wants me to live my life apart from her daughter because I have caused her enough harm.
I had to respect her and left. Rita blacklisted my cellphone numbers. The two numbers I used were blacklisted.
I tried reaching her through her social media accounts and she blocked me. I am handicapped. I want to see her, talk to her, apologise to her, ask her how she wants me to compensate her.
I discovered she had resumed back to work, I tried going to see her but she would refuse me entrance into her office.
I don’t know how to reach her again. I am lost and I have lost my peace since that incident.

I have learnt to keep my misery hidden behind my smiles. But I am suffering in private Theresa.
The only one who knows how to share my burdens is my brother but he is not interested in interacting with me and I don’t know who else to share my pains with except now that you ask…” Julia explained.
Theresa Mo felt sorry for him. He seemed to have learned the hard way. She looked at his sulken eyes and knew truly he hadn’t been sleeping well.
“Do you still have feelings for Rita?” Theresa asked and Julia chuckled softly “I love her Theresa” Julia answered.
She believed him. If he didn’t love her, he wouldn’t have been suffering this much. She doesn’t know but guess he has left those casual girlfriends he keeps including Xixi.
She knew the latter had been fired by Junxie. She had thought Julia was going to confront his brother on why he fired his girlfriend but he didn’t.
” If you still love her, then you will not be tired of trying to see her. Keep trying and someday, she will give you an audience…” Theresa advised.
She doesn’t want to get involved with the situation of Julia and Rita. They are adults and can sort themselves out.
Besides, Junxie Li would get mad with her if he discovers she intervened in his affairs.
” How’s the wedding plan gone so far?” Julia asked. The wedding is coming up in a week’s time and the news of it was everywhere.
But Theresa’s personality was unknown yet. The wedding is strictly on invitation and Junxie Li doesn’t want anything noisy, being a private person.
“Everything is put in order” Theresa answered. She smiled and Julia smiled as well.
Julia went to find Rita in her work place and for the first time in weeks, he saw her coming out of the company to go for lunch.
He went to her immediately and she snubbed him, walking past him as if she doesn’t know him,
” Rita please, I need to talk to you” Julia said, going after her. Rita turned sharply and glared at him.
“When did you become such an idiot that you can no longer read the handwriting on the wall? Can’t you see that we have nothing in common again?
Why have you been pestering me everywhere? I don’t like naughty people around me, especially those who have no self esteem to respect themselves..” she lashed him.
Julia didn’t mind. Whatever she wants to say, she can say it. She has the right to go even with him after all, he had done the worst things to her.
“I know I was wrong to have been unfair to you, but please I am ready to make my wrongs right, all I am asking is that you give me an audience..”Julia pleads.
But Rita yelled at him to get away from her. Julia was embarrassed and stood while Rita got into her car and drove off.
He would return to get her to talk to him. He would not give up easily until he saw her forgive him.
That evening, Rita walked into a hotel dressed in a plain short gown but fitted. She looked simple but beautiful.
She saw a young man at an extreme end and he beckoned to her. She walked towards him and he stood up, smiling at her.
He stretched his hand and Rita took it politely. She smiled at him as well. He gestured to her to take a seat before he sat down again.
He looked handsome like her mother had said but he doesn’t look as much as her Julia. He seemed to have a sense of humour.
” Nice meeting you, I am Davis” he introduced himself, “The pleasure is mine, I am Rita..”
They smiled at each other for the upteenth time and Davis asked what Rita would like to take?
They spent about two hours together before they decided to leave. Davis told her a little about himself and Rita did the same.
They parted on a good note and Davis asked if he could come pick her for lunch the next day. Rita thought about it.
Maybe she should say yes in case Julia comes to her again, she would scare him off if he saw her with someone else.
“Ok, I would look forward to seeing you again”Rita agreed and Davis let her drive off first before leaving.
