Ri
“I really feel something different.” I told my brothers. We are on our way to the last pack in our itinerary, the Red Ash Pack.
“What do you think it’s all about?”
“I don’t know! I feel something wrong.”
“Maybe, you’re just excited.” Tatay told me but I did not respond. I’m trying to look within me as to why I have felt something different.
Few more hours of travel, and we reached a deserted land. My wolf jumped inside me, alert and angry.
“No!” Tatay exclaimed. “What happened here?”
“What’s wrong, Tatay?” Justin spoke and the uneasiness inside me, grew.
“This is the Red Ash Pack territory.” he answered us sadly.
“What?” I exclaimed. Seeing the deserted land, I can’t imagine that there was once a pack in here.
“No! No!” I cried thinking that we were too late.
“I can’t believe we lost her.” Kuya Drey said, looking sad as he watched Rochie’s reactions to the news.
I hugged Rochie when suddenly, I felt something triggered inside me. I can feel another Aelean not far from where we are.
“The girl is alive!” Cassy shouted inside me. “Lead me to her.” I ordered and she took control as I moved towards where the last girl is.
Tatay, Justin, my brothers and Eana (Bianca and AC were left at home) followed me without any questions. I think they know what is happening.
I passed by the destroyed pack house, into the forest where I smelled a foul smell.
“ROGUES!” I shouted in our mindlink.
“Be careful, Ri.”
I continued my way into the deeper part of the forest. Minutes later, we came to a newly built house, I guess where the rouges are living.
“They were the same rogues who attacked the pack.”
“There are around 50 of them. We can’t attack them now!” Justin said in his alpha tone. “We are obviously outnumbered.”
“But my mate is in there and she might be in danger!” Rochie spoke seriously. His eyes were of his wolf.
“We know, son,” Tatay spoke calmly. “We have to plan this out.”
We spend few more hours planning out for the attack. We decided to wait for the night to help us.
When night came, we proceeded to our plan. Rochie and I called out the wind to blow stronger, enough to drown any noise we could create.
Slowly, we moved forward, knocking out every rogues in our way. Kuya Drey would then tie them with his vines.
When the ground is clear, Kuya Red and Eana lit a part of the forest beside the pack house. As expected, most of the rogues came out. When they saw the fire, they immediately took some water to put it out. But instead of putting it out, they were entrapped inside the fire. One by one, the rogues were bound to the ground by Kuya Drey’s vines. Shock was written in their faces as they looked around.
More rogues came out and unfortunately, one of them saw us. In a second, they changed into their wolves and attacked us.
Tatay, Justin and my brothers changed into their wolves, too and prepared for the attack. Eana and I prepared, too, more seriously since we can’t shift.
The boys met the rogues in the middle. They dodged and attacked. Other rogues flew away as they were hit by them.
Cassy alerted me and when I turned around, there were rogues behind us, too. Eana and I stiffened as they approached us. Then, in a snap, they attacked us. We were thrown away as they hit us. They were about to attacked us again but we managed to get up and prepare.
In every attacked, we managed to defend ourselves, hit them and used our powers on them. Thankfully, we defeated them and forwarded to the house. Rochie was with us as we reached for the door. Eana and Rochie stayed on guard as I tried to locate where the girl is. Eana and Rochie’s eyes bulged when I led them towards the stairs. I shrugged my shoulders and continued going up.
“Help!” We heard a scream coming from one of the rooms. We immediately ran towards the place where the scream came from. We opened the door and saw a rogue trying to force himself on a girl tied to the bed.
Rochie jumped on him, knocking him off while Eana and I helped the girl. Rochie, who was busy staring at his mate, did not notice when the rogue got up and attacked.
“Kuya!” I screamed and then I saw the rogue was thrown away outside the window. I stared at him shocked.
“My wolf used my power.” he explained as he slowly stepped towards the bed.
“Open your eyes, sweet.” he asked the girl lovingly.
The girl opened her eyes and met Rochie’s. She gave a very sweet smile.
“Hello, mate.” she said. “Thank you for saving me.” and then she closed her eyes and slept peacefully.
“Miss! Miss! What happened to you?” Rochie tried to wake her up but we stopped him.
“She might be tired from what had happened.” he nodded and carried her. We went outside to go back to our family.
The surroundings seemed quiet now, I guess the fight was done. We walked out of the house and approached the guys.
“Watch out!” they shouted. And then everything seemed to be in slow-mo. We turned and saw the rogue Rochie had thrown out a while ago, attacked me. I was not able to defend myself or even avoid the attack. The rogue managed to chuck a huge part of my body. I slumped down and before I got unconscious, I saw them killed the last rogue.
