Chapter 4: Hellos and Goodbyes

Book:Seriously, I'm A What? Published:2024-5-1

Three days later…
“Congratulations, Princess!” My dad greeted me as soon as we were allowed to go to our families. “Congratulations, son!”
“Congratulations, Sis!” My brothers greeted me, too.
“Congratulations, Bro! At last, you’re out of high school!”
“Mom!” I exclaimed when she suddenly engulfed me and Rochie in a tight bear hug.
“Oh, my babies!” She said half-crying, half-smiling. “I am so proud of you two. I love you.” She showered us with kisses before hugging us back.
“Oe, let me join!” Red hugged us. Dad followed and hugged us as well.
“What? Are we not part of the family, too?” the twins exclaimed before throwing themselves to us and hugged us.
“Thank you, guys!” I told them smiling/crying, too. We broke away as laughter followed. “I love you, too, Mom, Dad!”
After another 30 minutes of picture-taking, we went home to enjoy mom’s special dinner.
I opened my closet to find something nice to wear. After dinner, we agreed on going to an all-wolf club for a post-graduation party.
Two days after my attack, I felt fine. I told my family about what happened between me and Gabriel and asked my brothers never to hurt him. He is still my mate after all.
I decided to look my best tonight. So I settled with a black skirt that goes mid-thigh and a pink spaghetti-strapped top with a black blazer. I had my hair done in a fish-bone style. I then wore my silver necklace and bracelet. Finally, I applied a little powder on my face; applied mascara and eyeliner to emphasize my eyes; and a lip gloss to my already pink lips. I slipped on my high-heeled sandals as I grabbed my purse with my phone and money and went out of my room.
“Hey, Sis!” Drey came to me, shaking his head. I heard a wolf-whistle and saw Rochie and Red staring at me.
“What? Is something wrong?” I asked them.
They shook their head. “No. You. Just. Look,” Rochie whistled/sighed, “SEXY!” Red, still speechless, nodded at me. I laughed as we started to go down stairs.
“By the way,” I turned to them. “You all don’t look bad yourself.”
As we stepped down, I was suddenly engulfed in a tight hug. “Mom!” I exclaimed as I tried to wiggle out of her embrace.
“Oh, baby. You are so gorgeous!”
“Gorgeous indeed!” my dad said as he also hugged me.
“Ahm, guys!” I told them, “I am not going across the country, you know.” I joked and surprisingly, everyone laughed. I am known to not have a good sense of humor.
“Guys, let’s go!” Drew called us out as he walked inside the house. He saw us laughing. “WOW!” he looked at me admiringly. “Just, WOW!”
I hugged him and then my brothers one by one, thanking them. I just feel so loved.
As we turned to our parents, they started their “litany” of do’s and don’ts for us.
“Make sure one of you will be with your sister ALWAYS!” Dad put emphasis on “always”.
“Yes, dad!” we answered them as we bid them goodbye.
After a 15-minute drive, we reached an all-werewolf club just at the end of the Silver Gibbous pack territory. The boys decided to have some sort of schedule on who’s going to be with me at a particular time. I silently laughed at the idea.
As we stepped inside the club, we were met by a full-packed room. I felt each of Rochie’s and Red’s arms snaked around my waist in a protective stance as they led me inside. A reggae music was playing in the background as we were greeted by some of our friends.
Drew was ahead of us when he suddenly stiffened and so as my other brothers. Rochie and Red were on each of my side and Drey was at our back. (See how protective they are?)
I looked at where they were looking at. I was taken aback. I felt anger surfacing once again. I glared at the pair making out in a lounge as I saw my mate and some slut.
I felt lump in my throat as pain hit my heart. I went to the washroom and once again cried. I let my tears stream down my face and gave in to self-pity.
“Pity me!” I told myself. “I am so pathetic that no one would like me.” I felt another pain as though I was stabbed in my heart many times. My lungs started to ache as my breathing started to slow once again.
I calmed myself. I remembered how much my family loves me. On how my brothers would willingly drop everything for me.
I felt calmed and I smiled as I remember the scene when Rochie and I graduated; the one when all of us hugged one another in a tight embrace.
I slowly became alright. “We have to be strong!” my wolf whispered in a smile. I know how much she is hurting.
“Yes! I have to be strong!” I told myself then I got up and washed my face. I retouched my make-up and put my best smile on my lips.
I saw my brothers’ worried faces as I walked back towards them. But as I they saw my smile, their faces brighten up. “How did I think of myself being pathetic? With just these boys, I feel like a princess!” I cheered up myself.
“I’m okay, Kuyas! Thanks to all of you.” I whispered and hugged each of them. We walked to the counter. My brothers ordered beer while I ordered a COKE. I turned and watched the dance floor. I dared to watch my mate still making out. I looked at them and realized it was Tiffany.
Anger once again started to surface. But now, I did not cry and for once, I am in control. I focused my anger on my glare, wishing that the drinks on the table near them would splash towards them.
And as if Fate sided with me. I saw how the liquid rose from the glass and hit them. I jumped from my seat in my surprise and smiled.
“Wow!” I laughed to myself as they broke apart.
Tiffany squealed in annoyance as she was very wet from that ice cold drink. I heard some of the patrons laugh.
I went back to my new discovery. I decided to try it once again. I focused on the drink of the person across her and imagined that it would splash on her face. And it happened once again, the way how I wish it would.
This time, I wasn’t able to hold my laughter. I laughed out loud just as everybody else did.
“Wow!” I exclaimed to myself once again.
“Hmm, water?” I sighed in disbelief.
I focused on my drink this time and tried to do it again to really prove to myself that my idea was right. I thought of the soda to rise from its container as high as my eyelevel and it happened. I tried to form it into a circle and still it followed. I let it back to my glass and looked around. Good thing no one was looking.
“I can manipulate water, too!” I whispered excitedly.
I was busy thinking of my new discovery when I heard Red calling me. I looked up at him.
“Look who’s here!” he looked at his back to the person next to him. My eyes widened upon seeing the person he was referring to.
“Oh my god!” I shouted and jumped off my seat. “Justin!”
