Ri’s POV
“Oh my god!” I shouted and jumped off my seat. “Justin!” I throw myself to him and hugged him tightly. He hugged me back and gave me a big smile.
“Well, hello, Princess!” he said when we broke away.
Justin is just one of my cousins in my mother’s side. He is of the same age as me that is why we are kinda close, too. Girls are rare for our family. In fact, believe it or not, my mom and I were the only girls in her side. Well, aside from the mates of my other cousins. That’s why girls are really cherished and respected. and I’m glad Mom has taught my brothers with that trait.
“How are you?” I heard Justin asked me. “Ooops!” he said acting like he got a mistake on something. “I’m sorry! I guess I don’t have to ask that, do I?” he winked at me as he looked at me from head to toe and back. I blushed. “From the looks of it, you are stunning—no, no,” he shook his head, “—You. Are. Gorgeous!” I blushed even more as he obviously is teasing me. I hugged him to hide my blush.
I heard laughter from our back coming from my brothers. They looked at us with an amused faces.
“I am great!” I heard my brothers gasped as I said it but I ignored them. I looked at Justin once again. “A little of this and that, but I am great!” I hugged him again and said, “I miss you!”
“Now you said it!” He chuckled and pulled me into the dance floor, amidst all the people dancing.
He started dancing; swaying his hips fast from side to side and I followed him. I noticed my brothers followed us in the middle of the dance floor, too.
The music then changed into a slow one. Justin held my waist while I put my arms around his neck and rested my head on his chest. We started to move slowly when I heard a growl from somewhere and from my wolf’s reaction, I knew it was Gabriel. I ignored him and continued swaying my hips.
“Woah! Have you met your mate already?” Justin asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
“Yep! But he doesn’t want me.” I told him calmly. “What are you doing here, by the way?” I changed the topic. He looked at me, hurt in his eyes. He shook his head and smiled at me.
“I was supposed to attend your graduation and fetch you as well. But my flight was delayed for two hours that’s why I wasn’t able to.”
“What do you mean by “fetch” us?”
“What? Didn’t Auntie tell you yet?” I shook my head. “Well, Lolo wants you all to be there before your 18th birthday.”
“Aahhh! My birthday! Yeah right! Thanks for reminding me!” I hit his chest as he chuckled.
“Oh!” he gasped in pain.
“I’m sorry!” I hugged him again, laughing.
We heard another growl from the tables and before I knew it, someone was already pinned on the floor.
“What the—,” I gasped as I saw Gabriel pinned by my brothers on the ground.
“What’s wrong with you, man?” Rochie asked him sternly.
“Let me go!” he ordered in his alpha tone. Luckily, it does not affect us. “Mine.” He said softly.
“No, I’m not!” I replied softly but sternly; he flinched. “You rejected me, remember?” I glared at him as I turned to my brothers.
“Kuyas, buhii na siya! Dili siya angayang usikan sa inyong kusog!” (Kuyas, let him go! He is not worth wasting your strength.)
I turned to Justin.
“Let’s go home!” I started walking out of the bar. I knew people got confused on what I said.
We were gathered in our living room with my parents and Justin. As soon as we arrived home, we asked mom and dad about this plan of going back to my Mom’s home country.
“Well, now that all of you are adults,” Mom started. “except for you, dear, I know.” She said to me with a smile. “You all need to hear this especially you, Ri, if our speculations are right.”
She looked at each of us. “Starting tomorrow, I want all of you to start packing. I need to go back home and you all need to come with me.” She looked at me and said, “Most especially you.”
“But why?” Drew asked.
“I can’t explain further coz I don’t know the exact detail. But,” she paused and looked at my Dad. When he nodded, she continued. “It was about this prophecy that I think involves our family, our origin and the five of you.”
I was surprised with what Mom said. “Does this have anything to do with our powers?”
“Yes, princess.” Dad answered.
“That’s why we need to go,” Justin said. “Lolo thinks that something might happen on Ri’s 18th birthday.”
We looked at one another in silence. Rochie broke our silence when he asked, “How much do you know about it, Dad?”
“As much as your mother knew.” He answered calmly.
“And you knew this since?” Red asked.
“Since I met your mom and her family.” Our jaws dropped. “That’s the reason I stepped down from being Alpha. When you all grew up and saw your powers, we decided we have to be discreet about it so I did what I did. I know this day will come.”
“And I am so proud of you for it.” Mom told him and was about to kiss when we all cleared our throats.
“Ahm, guys! We are still here!” I told them and they moved away, blushing.
Mom then looked at us again, ” So, we will all know what the prophecy is all about, and how it affects us as soon as we got home.”
“Are there still any questions?” Dad asked us. Nobody answered him.
Silence started to creep me that’s when I decided to tell them.
“Mom, I discovered something a while ago as well as last week.” I told her. “But I don’t think it’s possible.”
“What is it, dear?” she looked at me and I saw my brothers looking intently at me.
“Well, last week I got very angry with some of the Gibbous for name calling and throwing some drinks on me that I felt fire inside me trying to escape out of me. Then when I tried to unleash it, it seemed to flow towards Tiffany’s body which I was holding. Seconds after, she screamed like she was in pain. Is it even possible?”
I saw my Dad’s and Justin’s jaws dropped but my mom and my brothers just smiled.
“I guess so coz I can do that, too.”
“What? But I thought we can only manipulate wind.” Drey answered.
“Girls are special, didn’t I say that? I just don’t know if that’s the case thinking that I was the only girl born to this family, well now we have Ri, of course.”
“It just means that you can control fire, too.” She said. “And if I am not mistaken, you can control water and earth, too.” My jaw dropped, literally.
“I know about the water thingy but I never thought I could control earth, too.”
“Mom, you are amazing!” Rochie exclaimed and Mom blushed. “And you, babe, is going to be amazing, too.” I blushed too and everyone broke into laughter.
“You said about knowing that you can control water a while ago, Ri.” Dad said. “Can you supposedly tell us how do you know about it?”
“And you managed not to tell us about it, Ri?” Drew asked me with a hurt expression.
“Gee, Kuya, everything happened so fast.” I said when I saw my family’s serious gaze at me as if waiting for me to continue. “Well, a while ago, I… I once again got angry at Tiffany coz I saw her kissing my… m-mate.” I said soflty. “In my anger, I wished for their drinks to spill on them and surprisingly, I saw how the water rose and splashed unto their bodies.” I looked at them seriously. “I even tried to do it on my own Coke.”
I got surprised by the reaction I got from them.
“Wow!”
