Windy and rainy, Gwen Fox had just collected his umbrella, but he didn’t hear what Yolanda Taylor said clearly, but he had just clearly seen Yolanda Taylor’s lips moving and said something.
Standing in front of her, he subconsciously hummed, “Hmm?” “Nothing.”
Yolanda Taylor looked back and saw his dampened shirt, but didn’t say anything, “Leaving now, or waiting for the rain to stop?”
The car couldn’t drive in, there was a yard in front of the detention center, Gwen Fox’s car was parked on the side of the road in front of it, and it was at least a twenty-meter walk from here.
Gwen Fox’s shirt was quite wet, sticking to his body and making him feel uncomfortable, hearing Yolanda Taylor’s words, he glanced at the rain screen again, “We’ll go when it’s less rainy.”
He said, reaching out to try and take her hand to see if she was cold.
The rest of this heat had cooled off quite a bit because of the rain, and maybe it might even be a bit cooler.
But Yolanda Taylor avoided his hand and didn’t let him take it, but he did touch it a little.
Yolanda Taylor’s hand was cold, I don’t know if it was from being inside in the air-conditioned room for so long, or if it was just a little cold from standing out here in this downpour.
“Cold?”
Hearing his words, Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him, “Not cold.”
She said, curling her tailfingers a little and then averting her eyes.
Gwen Fox watched her as Yolanda Taylor didn’t look very well after being locked up in there for five days, probably because she hadn’t slept well.
It took a full hour and a half for the rain to let up, and by then it was time for the police officers inside the detention center to go off duty.
Gwen Fox opened her umbrella and walked to the bottom of the steps, reaching back and handing it to her as she waited for her to walk out with her.
Yolanda Taylor glanced down at his hand and pursed her lips slightly before passing her own.
Gwen Fox’s hand was quite different from his face, it was as if a fire had been placed inside his palm, even a little hot.
With a distance of more than twenty meters, it didn’t take long for the two to walk to the car.
It had been raining so hard for so long that the driver was a little drowsy waiting in the car, suddenly hearing the sound of the car door being pulled open, he immediately came back to his senses, “President Fox, Mrs. Fox.”
Yolanda Taylor leaned over and entered the inside of the car, nodding her head, “Hard at work.”
As soon as she spoke, Gwen Fox sat in as well.
The two had just waited out the light rain under the roof of that detention center for so long, and by now Gwen Fox’s shirt was dry from the wind.
“Let’s go back to the villa, I’ll have the maid make dinner.”
“Uh-huh.”
She leaned on top of the chair back, a little tired.
Yolanda Taylor had slept poorly for the past five days, and it had nothing to do with good or bad surroundings, it was just that an unfamiliar environment like that was a little scary, even though she had mentally prepared for the worst.
Fear, and unease, those two emotions alone were enough to keep her up at night.
Gwen Fox looked at her sideways and saw that her eyes were closed as if she was trying to sleep, so she didn’t say anything else.
The car drove off smoothly, the downpour from earlier was now about to stop.
The roads were slippery in the rain, and even if the car drove steadily, it couldn’t stop someone who wanted to run a red light.
“Squeak–”
The harsh brakes sounded, and Gwen Fox reached out to protect Yolanda Taylor from hitting the car seat in front of her.
Yolanda Taylor had woken up and frowned slightly as she looked at the driver who had turned his head in fear, “Hit anyone?”
“Didn’t hit anyone, ma’am.”
The driver was afraid of Gwen Fox, and hearing Yolanda Taylor open her mouth was like catching a lifesaver.
Gwen Fox was like dynamite these days, and he was the third driver to be replaced.
Yolanda Taylor looked forward again, “Let’s just forget about hitting anyone.”
“Just drive.”
Her words were followed by Gwen Fox’s voice.
The driver sighed in relief and hurriedly restarted the car, fearing that Gwen Fox would lash out.
“There’s still a bit of road left, so you’ll sleep a bit more?”
Yolanda Taylor shook her head and pushed his hand away.
By this time the rain had stopped, and the evening haze after the rain was exquisite and very beautiful.
She looked out the car window and said faintly, “Think about what I said the other day.”
Hearing her words, Gwen Fox’s face instantly sank, “No need to think about it, I won’t agree.”
Yolanda Taylor inclined her head to look at him and didn’t say anything.
The two didn’t say anything else, and it was quiet inside the carriage until the car pulled up to the villa.
Yolanda Taylor was detained inside for five days, not yet convicted, so it is not really a prisoner, every day in the inside is not bad, but that in the end is not a good place to come back to her silence and went into the bathroom to wash up.
She’d washed her hair and had just finished rinsing it when the water inside the tub had drained.
Yolanda Taylor took an essential oil from the side and dripped it in before she lifted her legs and laid down.
It wasn’t that she liked baths much, Kipling Taylor had an accident the year she turned fifteen, and she hadn’t had time to learn how to be a sophisticated woman before she had to deal with living on a shoestring, and it was Gwen Fox who had taught her to enjoy the luxury of things like this.
She also remembers the first time she took a bath, learning from the TV inside the person to get a whole bathtub of bubbles, the result is that the whole bathroom floor is slippery, Gwen Fox followed her back to take a bath, but also almost slipped and fell.
Probably the lavender essential oil sleeping effect is really good, plus the bathtub inside the water is warm and pleasant, she soaked and soaked actually fell asleep.
Gwen Fox also took a bath, that shirt in the rain when he went to pick up Yolanda Taylor was wet a large part, but when the rain is small, that shirt has been dried by the wind, but he has always been a bit of a cleanliness fetish, so once he came back to also go to the shower.
He didn’t shower very quickly, and when he came out and sat down for a moment and realized that Yolanda Taylor was still in the bathroom, he couldn’t help but frown a little, and got up and knocked on the bathroom door.
There was no answer.
Gwen Fox only felt his heart tighten, inexplicably thinking of the panic he felt when he saw Yolanda Taylor that day, he directly turned around and went to get the spare key and opened the door to go in.
Just inside, he saw Yolanda Taylor who was leaning against the edge of the bathtub and fell asleep.
Her hair was washed and wrapped up in a towel by her, and a palm-sized face was completely exposed, the tiredness on her face becoming clearer and clearer.
Gwen Fox walked over and touched the water, realizing that it had gotten a little cooler, and even though it was summer, the chances of catching a cold while soaking in such cool water were still high.
He called out to her, but Yolanda Taylor just frowned.
Gwen Fox didn’t open her mouth to call out to her again when he saw how deeply she was sleeping, but instead picked her up and carefully placed her on the bed, pulling the silk air-conditioned comforter over her before going in to the bathroom to get her clothes out.
