“What are you doing here?”
Seeing this look on Dika Rothstein’s face, Yolanda Taylor was a little vain for some reason.
Hearing her words, he glanced at her, “I was going to come over and have a late dinner with you.”
Yolanda Taylor looked down at the baked sweet potato in her hand, and for a moment, she didn’t know what to say.
She glanced at Gwen Fox, “You go on back.”
“Uh-huh.”
This time, he did not insist on sending her back.
After responding, Gwen Fox lifted his leg and walked away.
Yolanda Taylor looked at Dika Rothstein in front of her, she didn’t know what to say, she didn’t mean to hide it from him, she really didn’t know what to say about Gwen Fox.
Dika Rothstein looked at her, “I’ll take you back.”
“Oh.”
The two people were speechless all the way, Dika Rothstein drove over, it was only a seven or eight minute road, but in two minutes she was downstairs at her house.
Yolanda Taylor unbuckled her seatbelt, “I’ll be back then, good night.”
“Go to bed early, I’ll catch you some other time.”
“Oh.”
This was a bit of an awkward scene tonight, and Yolanda Taylor had to get out of the car.
She looked back at Dika Rothstein before she entered the door barrier and saw him sitting in the car looking at her and waving, so she had to wave back before turning around and heading into the elevator.
It was only after watching the people finally get into the elevator that Dika Rothstein drove the car out.
It wasn’t long after the car left the entrance to the neighborhood that he ran into Gwen Fox.
He was standing on the side of the road, seemingly waiting for him on purpose.
Dika Rothstein only felt the fire, “Boom” burned up, straight burned his whole person’s sanity is gone.
He pulled over, jumped out of the car and ran over to him, grabbing him by the collar, “Gwen Fox, what the fuck do you want?”
“None of your business.”
He lowered his eye brows slightly, Dika Rothstein’s movements not threatening him in the slightest.
Dika Rothstein, however, was completely enraged by him, “Gwen Fox, how many more times are you going to get her killed? Are you going to get her killed before you’re satisfied?!”
Hearing his words, Gwen Fox’s demeanor finally changed, “I didn’t think about hurting her again.”
He said, lifting his hand and pulling away, shaking the smoke from his hand, “You have no business interfering with her friendships.”
“You’re looking for death Gwen Fox!!! believe it or not, believe it or not I’ll really screw you?!”
Gwen Fox had disappeared for so long, but now she suddenly appeared in front of his eyes, Dika Rothstein would indeed be a very simple thing if she really wanted to screw Gwen Fox to death.
But he still didn’t do it in the end, firstly, he was afraid that Yolanda Taylor would think about it, and secondly, he was worried that when the time came that THE Fox family found out, in the end, the matter would all fall on Yolanda Taylor’s head, that’s why he restrained himself to death.
But Gwen Fox was too much, no matter how much he warned him, he was like a ghost that wouldn’t go away, haunting Yolanda Taylor at all times.
He had risked his life to save Yolanda Taylor from the fire, and he wouldn’t give anyone another chance to hurt her!
Not to mention Gwen Fox, the one who caused the accident back then!
“Did you think she wouldn’t remember? You hid my existence from her, do you think she really doesn’t know that you’re hiding something? If she really didn’t know, why would she not tell you about my existence? I’ve been driving her home from work for the past few days.”
Pushing Dika Rothstein away, Gwen Fox snorted.
The only person in this world who could make him bow down was Yolanda Taylor; no one else, no one else, had the qualifications or the ability to do so.
Back then it was Dika Rothstein who saved Yolanda Taylor, he appreciated him and thanked him, but it didn’t mean that he would condone him treating himself as if he was Yolanda Taylor’s owner in general.
Dika Rothstein should be thankful that he was the one who saved Yolanda Taylor back then, if not, he wouldn’t have been able to get away with what happened that night.
Now that he was trying to tell him what to do, Gwen Fox only found it laughable.
“You’re looking for a fight, Gwen Fox!”
Dika Rothstein had been a real jerk for those ten years or so, and although her temper had eased in the past few years, she had always been a grumpy person.
That snort from Gwen Fox stung him to the core, and he couldn’t hold back any longer, swinging his fist straight at him.
Yolanda Taylor had just gotten out of the elevator when something didn’t feel right.
She looked down at the half-baked sweet potato that had gone cold in her hand, frowned a little, and turned to retrace her steps back inside the elevator.
She practically jogged all the way out of the neighborhood, and within a few steps of getting out, she saw Dika Rothstein’s car.
And next to the car was Gwen Fox and Dika Rothstein who were fighting, two men who were fighting so hard that neither would let the other go.
Yolanda Taylor froze for a moment, and when she reacted she rushed over to pull the fight, “Dika Rothstein! Don’t fight!”
“Gwen Fox! Don’t fight!”
Gwen Fox saw her suddenly rushing forward, and fearing that she might get hurt, she rushed forward and shielded her underneath.
At the same time, Dika Rothstein’s fist fell and landed right on his back.
Yolanda Taylor was wrapped up in the side of his arms, and the muffled grunt was loud enough for her to hear.
She froze for a moment, “Are you okay?”
Dika Rothstein gritted her teeth and had to withdraw her hand as well, “Yolanda Taylor, you need to stop being so stupid and falling for him! It’s okay for you to forget about the fire, but you remember those burns, don’t you? Those wounds on your back are still there, right? How could you have gone through all that back then if it wasn’t for him?!”
Dika Rothstein reminds her, word by word, that the fire that caused her to lose her memory and suffer burns was directly related to the man in front of her.
Or maybe it was Gwen Fox who started that fire.
She remembered when she first woke up with a large burn on her back that hurt so much she couldn’t sleep every night.
The pain almost made her despair, but she didn’t want to die, so she was just able to grit her teeth and hang on.
Then it got better, and she was left with a not-so-small patch of wounds on her back despite going through two skin grafting surgeries.
She had forgotten about that fire, but she remembered clearly the wounds that were left on her after the fire, and even the brand of that fire was still on her back.
Thinking about all this, she couldn’t help but take two steps back, her face a little pale, “You go away, Dika Rothstein is right, I can’t possibly be this stupid anymore. You need to stay out of my sight!”
She said, pausing and closing her eyes, “Consider it a plea, Gwen Fox.”
The words, she said softly, but they fell on Gwen Fox’s heart like a hard hammer.
For a moment, he felt as if his heart had stopped.
He looked at her, wanting to open his mouth to say something, but when his eyes fell on her face, he finally held back, said nothing, and turned to leave.
A cold wind blew over her and Dika Rothstein stepped in front of her, “Let me walk you back.”
Yolanda Taylor nodded, her hand feeling the half baked sweet potato inside her pocket, and surprisingly, she felt a twinge of pain in her heart.
