Chapter 61 Everything is his fault.

Yolanda Taylor pursed her lips for a second, “I don’t remember anything from before, and I don’t really want to.”
Why she had gone through a fire like that, what the hell that fire had to do with the Gwen Fox in front of her, she didn’t even want to know.
Call her cowardly or good, call her evasive, she was content with the status quo, period.
“Uh-huh.”
He answered, and neither one of them said another word after that.
Three minutes later Yolanda Taylor stopped looking at the glass doors in front of her, “I’m here, thanks for the ride back, it’s late, go back to rest.”
“Sweet dreams.”
It’s true that he didn’t give another inch, but Yolanda Taylor stood on the edge of that glass door and didn’t let go immediately after hearing his words.
She looked at him, her face a little cold, “Gwen Fox, ever since I met you, I’ve always had some really bad nightmares.”
She didn’t say it too bluntly and hurtfully, but Gwen Fox knew exactly what it meant.
“I’m sorry.”
Yolanda Taylor let go, the glass doors separating the two people, one inside, the other outside.
The elevator arrived quickly, and before she entered it, she ghosted a glance at Gwen Fox outside the glass doors.
He was still standing there watching her, and there was no way she could ignore that look.
Yolanda Taylor withdrew her eyes and lifted her leg to get inside the elevator.
Once she was in the elevator, Gwen Fox finally lost sight of her.
But he didn’t leave, he just collected his umbrella and leaned against that glass door, thinking about what she just said.
“Gwen Fox, ever since I met you, I’ve always had some really bad nightmares.”
She had used the word “nightmares” to describe their past, and he hadn’t imagined that one day, those three years of their past would seem like a nightmare to Yolanda Taylor.
And a nightmare it should have been, as he had crushed her love with his own hands and indirectly killed her mother.
Twice he had watched with cold eyes as she begged and pleaded for her to be tattooed, and he wondered why he had been so cruel back then.
Obviously love her very much, but can be that cruel.
Hate yourself, right?
Hate himself actually fell in love with the enemy’s daughter.
However, that day, he watched her disappear into the fire, he hated himself for not loving her enough.
He was to blame for where he was today, and no one else.
Yolanda Taylor had another nightmare, another unclear dream, only this time it was something new.
She dreamed of a woman, looking at her and smiling deviously.
The woman was laughing and saying something at the same time, but she couldn’t hear what she was saying, she just heard her laughing.
The laughter was so horrible that she woke up straight away.
The night was even darker outside the window and she glanced at the desk clock on the side and realized that it was past four in the morning.
Yolanda Taylor got up and drank a cup of hot water before laying back down.
For several nights afterward, she ran into Gwen Fox waiting for her on the same road outside the studio.
Yolanda Taylor didn’t know what to say anymore, she thought he was over the top, but when she thought about it, it didn’t seem like he did anything but wait for her to get off work.
Every time, he just dropped her off under that glass door and left.
Sometimes he would talk to her, sometimes he would just be quiet all the way home with her.
He did this every day, and even the security guard uncle didn’t believe her when she said he wasn’t her boyfriend anymore.
And yet he really wasn’t her boyfriend.
Maybe once he was, but now, between them, there was no relationship whatsoever, not even a friend.
She’d left a little early this day, and not surprisingly, she’d seen Gwen Fox standing there just as she’d gone out of the studio.
It was after ten at night, another Friday, and there were still people on the road; this side of town was a downtown neighborhood, and there were a lot of couples coming and going.
He was standing by himself in his coat, tall and leggy, and he stood out.
Before Yolanda Taylor came out, two girls were in front of his eyes not knowing what to say, mostly hitting on him.
She paused in her steps and didn’t walk out right away.
But as if he had eyes behind him, he suddenly turned back to her.
Yolanda Taylor, in a rare moment of embarrassment, stood there and smiled.
Gwen Fox looked at her, a little stunned, as if back in those years, she stood in the distance waiting for his light.
His heart ached as he lifted his leg and walked toward her.
The two girls followed him, and soon Gwen Fox stopped in front of Yolanda Taylor, “Off duty?”
Yolanda Taylor nodded once, her eyes faintly sweeping over the two girls behind him, “They-”
“I don’t recognize them.”
He frowned lightly, his face a little cold.
Those two girls glanced at Yolanda Taylor, seeing her white skin and slender figure, they immediately felt ashamed of themselves, and the two of them turned around and ran away.
“Are you hungry?”
Yolanda Taylor shook her head, but she saw him suddenly fumble a baked sweet potato out from inside his pocket, “I just bought it not long ago.”
He remembered when they hadn’t been together long, once he had picked her up from her school after a meeting and she was eating a baked sweet potato on the side of the road.
The heat curled up and smoked her face a little red.
He just asked a question, her ears followed the red, backhanded the sweet potato to hide behind.
When he was waiting for her just now, he saw someone selling baked sweet potatoes, and he didn’t know why, but he subconsciously bought it.
Yolanda Taylor froze for a moment, originally thinking that he was going to have a late night snack with himself, but now looking at that sweet potato in his hand, she realized that she had misunderstood.
“I’m genuinely not hungry.”
In order to prove that she wasn’t lying, Yolanda Taylor didn’t take that baked sweet potato.
But for some reason, she always felt as if that baked sweet potato had some kind of charm, and she glanced at it, forcing herself to withdraw her eyes with great difficulty.
She clearly hadn’t craved this baked sweet potato before, so why did she suddenly want to eat it so much.
“Uh-huh.”
Gwen Fox responded nonchalantly, then broke the baked sweet potato in her hand.
Whether this baked sweet potato was good or not was another matter, but the fragrance was really fragrant.
Yolanda Taylor smelled the fragrance and couldn’t help but look over.
Just then, Gwen Fox handed her the other half of the baked sweet potato, “I’ll help you eat half of it.”
She pursed her lips, feeling as if it would be a bit too pretentious if she refused again.
After hesitating for a moment, she still reached out and took it, “Thank you.”
Gwen Fox looked at her and suddenly smiled.
This whole time, she had barely seen him smile, and this was the first time she had seen him smile since she met him until today.
Yolanda Taylor couldn’t help but be a little taken aback, but soon the smile faded from his face.
Gwen Fox stopped suddenly, and sensing something was wrong, she looked up only to realize that Dika Rothstein had arrived at some point.
