“Dika Rothstein.”
It took Dika Rothstein a moment to come back to his senses at the sound of her voice.
He took one last drag on his cigarette and then put out the still half-empty cigarette straight away.
Yolanda Taylor returned to her seat and checked the time, “It’s seven thirty, aren’t you coming over?”
He raised an eyebrow and looked at her with a smirk, “Have you figured out how you’re going to face Gwen Fox?”
“Uh-huh.”
Her hand pinched around her bag tightening ever so slightly as she answered that.
She hadn’t really thought about it, but it didn’t matter if she did or didn’t, the most important thing for her right now was to get Petra back.
The Davis family’s party was extraordinary, and the open parking lot outside the hotel was filled with luxury cars.
As soon as Dika Rothstein’s car stopped, someone came forward to help open the door.
He inclined his head to look at her, “Here we are.”
Yolanda Taylor nodded once and followed him out of the car.
No sooner had the two gotten inside than Yolanda Taylor ran into Xenia Davis.
Clustered in the middle of a bunch of rich and famous women, Xenia Davis was dressed up today, from head to toe.
Seeing her, Xenia Davis gently raised her eyebrows and directly walked over on her high heels, “Long time no see, Miss Taylor.”
Xenia Davis looked at her with a very smug brow.
Yolanda Taylor, however, was as flat as could be, “Long time no see, Miss Davis.”
“Tsk, Miss Taylor’s servants are getting better and better, just a few days ago I saw Young Master Anderson next to her, and in just a few days, she’s changed to the Godfather of Dika?”
In front of so many people, Xenia Davis’s words were really hard to hear, if it were in the past, Yolanda Taylor would have stabbed back, but she was not in the mood for that now, she just laughed, “Miss Davis is really good at joking.”
She said, just then someone called Xenia Davis not far away, Yolanda Taylor looked up, “Miss Davis, your friend is looking for you, I’ll leave you alone.”
Xenia Davis narrowed her eyes and looked at Yolanda Taylor’s back, and all of a sudden she laughed, “Just as well, I’d like to see how long she can laugh!”
“How long what laugh?”
Sallie came around from behind Xenia Davis, who looked at her and waved.
Sallie leaned down and leaned over, half a second later, after listening to Xenia Davis’ words, Sallie’s face changed slightly, “Won’t you make a scene, if you do that?”
“What could go wrong? If she dares to come tonight, I’m going to make her cry and leave!”
Saying that, Xenia Davis pushed Sallie, “Quick, listen to me!”
Sallie had been friends with Xenia Davis for more than ten years, and when Xenia Davis disliked Yolanda Taylor, she was naturally on the same page with her.
Seeing that Xenia Davis was so insistent, she didn’t say anything else and brought a glass of red wine to do as Xenia Davis said.
Dika Rothstein took a glass of orange juice and handed it to Yolanda Taylor, “Xenia Davis hates to tear you apart when she sees you, are you sure she’s going to tell you that?”
Yolanda Taylor took a sip of her juice and smiled faintly, “She’ll talk.”
“So sure?” “I’ve been fighting her for six or seven years, I still know her at this point.”
The two were talking when there was some movement at the entrance to the hall and Dika Rothstein inclined her head to see that it was Gwen Fox.
He subconsciously looked over at Yolanda Taylor, who in front of him just lightly swept a glance at Gwen Fox and withdrew her eyes.
Dika Rothstein, however, kept her eyes on Gwen Fox, who was always the center of attention; he was dressed casually today, but despite that, the simple sweater with the pants was still a sight to behold.
The man’s eyebrows were cold, and his black eyes were even colder, and no one dared to look at him without emotion.
But Dika Rothstein is different.
When Gwen Fox looked over, the smile on Dika Rothstein’s face inexplicably sank.
Gwen Fox’s eyebrows moved in a rare, indifferent way, her eyes straying from Dika Rothstein’s body to Yolanda Taylor beside him.
Yolanda Taylor is also dressed casually tonight, just a long black French dress, her long hair coiled up, the makeup on her face is very light, and the light hitting her face can’t stop her from looking pale.
Probably noticed his line of sight, she looked up and looked over, the pair of eyes that used to be amorous and self-talking now only had the coldness of a stranger.
Gwen Fox withdrew her gaze, raised her glass to the greeter, and walked toward the Yves Davis crowd with a bland look on her face.
Yolanda Taylor’s face was calm, but her palms were pinched red, and it took a great deal of self-control to restrain herself from rushing up to Gwen Fox and questioning him.
She didn’t have any pride or face left in front of him, and now with so many people, Yolanda Taylor didn’t want to make herself a joke once again.
“Yolanda Taylor?”
Dika Rothstein called out to her from the side, Yolanda Taylor nodded, “I’m fine.”
“Yolanda.”
Having not seen Martin Anderson in almost a month, Yolanda Taylor was a little surprised to see him, “Aren’t you in Bert City?”
Martin Anderson had started a company in Bert City, and Yolanda Taylor had only found out about it a while ago from Dika Rothstein.
Martin Anderson smiled, his eyes skimming over Dika Rothstein and finally resting on her face, “My mom’s birthday is in two days, so I’m back.”
She nodded a little, “No wonder.”
That phone call had kind of pushed through the Martin Anderson layer, he hadn’t explicitly said it, and Yolanda Taylor hadn’t explicitly said no, but everyone was smart.
Now looking at Dika Rothstein by her side, Martin Anderson was upset but knew there was nothing he could do.
“Young Master Anderson.”
Dika Rothstein opened the conversation so the three weren’t considered awkward.
Not long after the party opened, Yves Davis took the stage to address the crowd, with Xenia Davis at his side.
After Gwen Fox and Xenia Davis broke off their engagement, those with their eyes on the fat piece of the Davis family were on Xenia Davis, who was a star-studded presence today.
The breakup of Gwen Fox’s engagement to Xenia Davis didn’t seem to affect Yves Davis’ admiration for him at all, and the two were chatting in the back of the stage.
The dinner was winding down and Yolanda Taylor glanced at Dika Rothstein and Martin Anderson, “If you’ll excuse me for a moment, I need to use the restroom.”
She said, putting down the cup in her hand and carrying her skirt up to the second floor.
Yolanda Taylor casually stopped a maitre d’, “Could you please take a message to Miss Davis for me, saying that I have something for her, and that I’ll be waiting for her in the changing room on the second floor.”
The waiter recognized her, took her money, and immediately went to find Xenia Davis with a smile on his face.
Yolanda Taylor went into the restroom, which wasn’t very crowded at this time of day, and she entered a random compartment.
Just as she finished using the restroom and was about to exit, she cold hear her name mentioned.
Yolanda Taylor’s hand on the door knob was slightly lurched, and when she hesitated, she heard the person outside say: “In fact, I think Yolanda Taylor is also quite miserable, and I don’t know how she flipped out with Gwen Fox, and I heard that Gwen Fox escorted her mom away, and that on the night of the 9th, her mom was hit by a car and died when she was escaping. The Fox family has been hiding, did not let the news leaked out, this news if leaked out, I think Yolanda Taylor should be looking for Gwen Fox to fight for their lives, right?”
“How do you know? There’s no word of this at all!”
“I’m telling you, don’t tell anyone! I’ve heard that the driver who hit the person was found by Gwen Fox, he just wanted to run over her mom, and all the running away stuff is fake, he just wanted to get her mom killed! I don’t know the reason, I just heard from my relatives that someone from the Fox family accidentally slipped up, and the Fox family has been hiding this, don’t tell anyone!”
Yolanda Taylor only felt that her whole body was cold, she stood inside the cubicle, her blood seemed to have stopped.
Someone else walked in, and that’s when she reacted, opening the door in a hurry and stumbling out.
