Chapter 42 You killed my mom.

Book:Welcome To My Life Published:2024-6-3

Yolanda Taylor stumbled along the way, running down the stairs and bumping into someone who just frowned in disgust and was just about to curse when she was already running ahead.
The person who had been bumped into looked disgruntled, but as she watched Yolanda Taylor’s stumbling back, knocking over several people along the way, she had no choice but to let it go.
“Miss Taylor-”
Someone saw her and opened their mouth to call out to her, yet all Yolanda Taylor wanted to do was find Gwen Fox.
She reached out and pushed her way through the crowd and finally saw Gwen Fox standing not far away with Xenia Davis.
Xenia Davis saw her and raised her eyebrows slightly, “Miss Taylor, are you okay? I can see that your face looks like it’s not-”
Before the word “fine” could be uttered, Yolanda Taylor had already pushed past her and was walking straight into Gwen Fox’s eyes, “Where’s my mom?”
She reached up and tugged on his collar, looking at Gwen Fox with eyes that were red and scary.
Gwen Fox looked down at her, a cool expression on his face, “Let go.”
His words had ice in them, and they came out so cold that if it were usual, Yolanda Taylor would have been so scared that she would have let go.
But right now, all she could think about was the conversation she heard between those two people in the restroom.
Instead of letting go of her hand, she even used a little bit of strength, “Gwen Fox, I’m asking you, where is my mom!”
She was ranting like a madwoman on an occasion like this, and everyone around her looked over.
Xenia Davis raised an eyebrow and reached out to pull Yolanda Taylor away, only to have Yolanda Taylor hit her hand hard, “Don’t touch me!”
Her entire body shuddered, the thread of sanity just hanging so tightly that as soon as Gwen Fox opened her mouth in response to her words, the thread would snap.
Xenia Davis hadn’t expected Yolanda Taylor to be so forceful, her wrists were sore from the slaps and her face was in disbelief, but there were so many people, and it was a dinner party hosted by both of their families, so Yolanda Taylor could have no shame, but she couldn’t.
She glanced at the people around her, and could only hold back her anger and open her mouth to advise, “Miss Taylor, where is your mother, and how would Young Master Fox know. Doesn’t Auntie like to gamble? If you go to the casino and look for it, you might be able to find it!”
Xenia Davis’ words came out, and everyone around pointed at Yolanda Taylor.
Some people even began to associate the sudden separation between the two Yolanda Taylor and Gwen Fox with Yolanda Taylor’s mother liking to gamble, probably because Yolanda Taylor’s mother had lost a lot of money gambling and Yolanda Taylor was using Gwen Fox as an ATM.
There was a lot of talk at one point.
Xenia Davis had a few smug looks on her face, but when she looked over at Yolanda Taylor, the other woman didn’t care at all what she said.
She just looks at Gwen Fox, and when he doesn’t say anything, Yolanda Taylor pushes him harder all of a sudden, “Where did my mom go!”
She lost her voice and screamed, Gwen Fox looked at her and frowned slightly before finally opening her honor, “Ran away.”
“Ran away?”
Yolanda Taylor’s lips winced, her teeth biting into her lip and pain coursing through her, but she was oblivious to it, forcing another step towards Gwen Fox’s eyes, “Ran away or died?”
She said, tugging at the corner of her mouth, and suddenly raised her hand and pounded at Gwen Fox, “Why are you doing this to me! Why! Gwen Fox why! That was my mom! My mom!”
She kept pounding him like a madman, shouting at the top of her lungs as she did so.
Gwen Fox frowned tightly, an oppressive chill running through his body.
He raised his hand and clasped Yolanda Taylor’s wrist tightly, and threw her with force, “If you’re going to be crazy, be crazy somewhere else!”
Yolanda Taylor didn’t stand still, and fell to the side, looking to smash into the wine glasses on the shelf next to her, when Dika Rothstein arrived just in time and reached out to pull her into her arms.
“What’s going on?”
Seeing Dika Rothstein arrive, Xenia Davis laughed a little and stepped forward, “Godfather of Dika, you’re here just in time, Miss Taylor is somehow suddenly chasing after Young Master Fox asking where her mother is, which is funny, where is her mother? How would Young Master Fox know, Young Master Fox, right?”
At the end of her sentence, she glanced at Gwen Fox.
Gwen Fox didn’t say anything, he looked at Yolanda Taylor, who was being held by Dika Rothstein, and his face was grim as if it was a black cloud about to destroy the city, “Why? Didn’t you already know why?”
He looked at her with no semblance of affection inside his eyes.
Yolanda Taylor no longer cared whether he loved her or not, she only cared whether Petra had really had an accident.
She hadn’t believed it, had stumbled out to question him, had expected him to deny it, but instead he had said her mom had escaped.
Yolanda Taylor knew that what those two had said was more than likely true.
For a moment, she only felt as if something had exploded inside her head.
Yolanda Taylor just felt her vision blur, her legs went weak, and if it wasn’t for Dika Rothstein holding her in a death grip, her whole body would have fallen to the ground.
“You killed my mom.”
She said it calmly, but it was like the stagnant water of despair on the ground, unable to make a ripple.
As soon as Dika Rothstein heard her words, her face changed, “You-”
At this time, Yolanda Taylor suddenly pushed him away, grabbed a highball glass and slammed it hard against the tabletop, then picked up a piece of glass on the ground and rushed towards Gwen Fox: “You killed my mom, I’m going to kill you Gwen Fox!
Her movements were so fast that the people present did not react, and could only see her catching the glass shards of the wine glass and stabbing them at Gwen Fox.
But Gwen Fox stood there, no half-emotion on his face, only raising his hand to clasp her hand as she approached.
He was so strong that he pinched her fingers so hard that the shards of glass in Yolanda Taylor’s hand fell to the floor.
She was dripping blood from a cut on her hand, and the blood dripping onto the floor was shocking to watch.
“You should be glad your mom is dead, otherwise I would have made your life worse.”
As he finished speaking, his hand squeezed so hard that Yolanda Taylor just felt like she was going to snap her fingers.
She looked at him as tears continued to flow down her face and Yolanda Taylor could see less and less.
It was as if her strength had been drained from her body, and just as Gwen Fox let go of her hand, her whole body fell back two steps.
Dika Rothstein stepped forward to help her, “Let’s get out of here.”
He said, and regardless of Yolanda Taylor’s reaction, he directly picked her up.
By this time, Yolanda Taylor was no longer resisting, she just stared blankly at Gwen Fox with an expression of both sadness and despair on her face.
She didn’t know what she had done wrong to provoke Gwen Fox to be so desperate.
She just looked at him, and even though she was being picked up by Dika Rothstein, she didn’t take her eyes off of him.
Toward the end, she suddenly spoke, “Since you hate me so much, I’ll do what you want.”
Her voice was not loud, but it was loud enough for those around her to hear.
The face that had been gloomy moved slightly, Gwen Fox watched her being carried farther and farther away, and for some reason, in this moment, he actually felt a little empty in his heart.
But it was only a brief moment, and soon, he came back to his senses.
Jerome Perot came sniffing around, and looking at the mess in front of him, he couldn’t help but frown at Gwen Fox, “Did you really kill Yolanda’s mom?”
Jerome Perot didn’t get an answer, only a quenched, grim look from Gwen Fox.
He opened his mouth to say something when he heard Xenia Davis speak in a conspiratorial manner.
Jerome Perot glanced at Xenia Davis, “That mouth of Miss Davis is really as poisonous as ever, and I wonder if that heart underneath her chest is also poisoned black.”
Xenia Davis’ face stiffened at his jab, “Jerome Perot, you–”
Jerome Perot, however, had already turned and walked away, and with this whole thing going on tonight, the whole of Borden City was spreading the rumor that Gwen Fox had killed Yolanda Taylor her mother out of love.
