Xavier’s POV
“Don’t leave.” As she said this, she closed her eyes. My heart dropped. She asked me to stay.
I started grinning like a mad man. ” DOCTOR COMES HERE. BELLA IS AWAKE.” I shouted at the doctor. I did not want to leave Bella, especially when she had requested not to leave.
The doctor came running in. “She just woke up and talked and fell asleep again.” I told him. He nodded his head at me. “If you don’t mind, can you step aside so that I could check her.” the doctor had asked me.
I growled at him. “NO! Bella had told me to not to leave. I will not leave.” I spat at the doctor. No way am I leaving Bella when asked me not to.
The doctor just nodded his head and went to the other side. He started examining her. “She is all good now. She will be waking in about 15-20 minutes. When she wakes up, she will have a dry throat. just give her the medicine that will be brought in a few minutes. Once she has taken her medication, I will be coming in to do one last check to discharge her.”
He said finish when a nurse came bringing in the medicines. He must have mind-linked her. I nodded at him. He and the nurse soon left after knowing I wanted to be alone with my mate when she woke up.
I looked back at Bella. She was resting as her right cheek was against the pillow. A strand of her hair had fallen. I took it in my hands, and tucked it behind her ear.
A smile crept as I looked at her face. She had asked me to stay. I feel like a teenage guy being accepted by a girl for a date.
I waited for Bella to wake up. As I waited for her to open her brown hazel eyes, I started to think how to talk to her. What am I supposed to say? Will she be comfortable with me? Goddess this is so frustrating.
Bella’s POV
I let out a groan as I opened my head. After I opened my eyes, I tried sitting up. Just then someone came to help me sit down.
It was Xavier. He helped me sit straight up. He held my shoulder with one hand and adjusted the pillow. the sparks, they were there again.
After I sat up, Xavier stood there rubbing the back of his neck. I felt that quite cute. I felt my throat were dry. I pulled the hem of his shirt as he turned his gaze towards. I signalled with my hands asking for water.
He quickly scrambled to take some water. He returned with a glass of water. instead of handing the water, he placed it near my lips. I blushed as I drank the water. After I was done he took the glass away.
“How are you doing now? Do you have any pain? Do you need me to call the doctor?” he asked, his voice was filled with concern.
“I am feeling better now. I don’t have any pain now. I don’t need the doctor now.” I said as I answered each of his questions. He nodded his head and sat down.
It became quiet soon. I did not know what to say. He got up again. I quickly looked up fearing he was going to leave me.
“No, no, no. I am not leaving, I will be back.” I sighed out in relief as he said. As he went, I felt embarrassed for thinking like that.
Soon he came back with some pills in his hands. I scrunched my head at that. “Here take this. The doctor had informed me to give you this.” he said as he showed me the medicines.
I quickly shook my head. “Don’t worry they are not drugs. I promise.” he said as I felt his sadness through his voice.
I quickly shook my head at his silly thought. He assumed that I thought he was giving me drugs. “No, I did not think like that. I just don’t like to take pills. They don’t taste nice. They taste bitter.” I said as I scrunch my face. When I looked up, he had an amused face.
I quickly blushed and turned away. I heard a deep chuckle from him, which made me shiver at that sound. He lifted my face as he placed his fingers under my chin.
“You have to take them if you want to get better soon.” he said softly as if he was talking to a small kid. I shook my head, not wanting to take medication. He made me look into his blue oceanic eye.
“Please. For me.” he asked as I saw him put puppy eyes. How can I say no to that. “Ok. I will take it for your sake.” I said as I saw him giving a full blown grin which made me giddy.
I slowly took the medicine as he passed them to me. As I took them and put them in my mouth, I cringed at the taste of it. I drank the water along with the medicine.
He chuckled at the look in my face.
I knew he had questions. And for the first time, I had answers.
