Beatrice smiled impressively at what she had turned the kingdom into, at least half popular of the people now practiced black magic openly. It was a dream come true for Beatrice to see people practice black magic openly without fear of being executed.
Beatrice couldn’t lie, things has been really difficult for her without Agnes by her side, but she didn’t care, she was going to get used to it as usual. She had a life before Agnes came and now that she was no more in her life, her life had to continue.
The group of people practicing black magic were given permission by Beatrice to hurt anyone who tried to get in their way. She taught them to kill without remorse, and it was really a sad thing.
Many of them killed their families, friends, or anyone who tried to talk them out of black magic. Many innocent people were met with untimely death.
Meanwhile, in the prison, Agnes and Tracy bond got stronger, they became like sisters and never a day went by without them thinking of how to get rid of Beatrice, but they were yet to come up with a reasonable plan.
Ezekiel came in and greeted Tracy and Agnes. Yes, Ezekiel was that soldier who fell in love with Tracy and has been bringing her food constantly since the beginning of her stay in the prison. He loved her dearly and was ready to do anything for her to be free and happy again.
He was an angel in disguise.
“Have you found anything that can serve as her weakness?” Tracy asked curiously. Ezekiel got very close to the queen to find out anything that could be used against her, but unfortunately, he found nothing on her, which was very frustrating.
“No, my princess,” He shook his head negatively.
“Every living being has a weakness, there must be something that can bring that witch down,” Agnes blurted out angrily. She just couldn’t get it, Beatrice wasn’t an immortal, even some immortals had something that could weaken them.
Why was hers so difficult?
A thought flashed through Agnes’s mind, and she smiled wickedly for a moment before saying,
“Since she has no solid weakness, I know of something that can put her in pains for a little while.”
“What’s that?” Tracy and Ezekiel asked at the same time. They couldn’t wait to know what could put the Almighty Beatrice through pain. Beatrice seemed immune to pains.
“She’s allergic to onion. If she eats onions, her body reacts in a very terrible way. She’ll feel itchy for a couple of days and sometimes faint.”
“Really? That’s a good one. It’s time to frustrate her the same way she has frustrated others for months now,” Tracy declared.
“Ezekiel, get some grated onions from the kitchen and add it to whatever meal she’ll be eating today and don’t get caught.”
Ezekiel nodded and left the cell to carry out the assignment that was given to him. First off, he headed to the kitchen and met the chef already preparing pottage for the Queen. She was chopping the meat.
Ezekiel thought of a way to distract the chef so he could create an opportunity for him to search for the grated onions and add it to the meal.
“Hello Mrs. Charlotte,” Ezekiel greeted, smiling widely. Mrs. Charlotte has been the royal cook for two decades now, no other chef that could replace her has been found. Her cooking skills were top-notch.
“Where are the other kitchen workers?” Ezekiel asked when he saw she was the only one in the kitchen; no one was assisting her.
“They all went on leave,” Mrs. Charlotte responded with a smile on her face, while Ezekiel became confused. A leave? Beatrice wasn’t one to show mercy to anyone.
“The queen has been so happy lately, so she gave some workers a two-week leave,” Mrs. Charlotte elaborated while Ezekiel nodded his head in understanding.
Ezekiel needed to carry out his task as soon as possible, but he didn’t want Mrs. Charlotte to be punished for what she knew nothing about, so he kept thinking hard of how to discreetly carry it out.
Mrs. Charlotte’s face turned sad in the next minute, and Ezekiel wondered why. Some minutes Ago she was smiling brightly, then now she had a frown on.
Why? Could she read minds? Did she find out what he was up to? For some reason, Ezekiel felt uncomfortable seeing her frown.
“Are you okay, Mrs. Charlotte?” He asked calmly.
“I miss the royal family. I hate the Queen, she killed them,” Charlotte responded angrily and slammed the knife she was using hard on the chopping board.
“I badly want to see her in pain, even if it’s just for a moment. I would’ve killed her a long time ago if not that she keeps asking me to taste the meal I prepare before she eats.”
“She doesn’t deserve to live, she has killed many innocent people, and now she already legalized dark magic in the kingdom.”
Ezekiel was stunned at her outburst. Mrs. Charlotte was one who spoke less and always smiled. Who would have thought that she had this amount of hate bottled up inside of her.
“Oh poor Ariella, I miss her,” Mrs. Charlotte sobbed, Ezekiel embraced her and caressed her back gently comforting her.
“I apologize for my outburst, I just felt so overwhelmed,” Mrs. Charlotte apologized and laughed Awkwardly after she calmed down.
“How about we making her feel a little pain?” To Ezekiel, it was the perfect opportunity to suggest adding onions to Beatrice, he just hoped Mrs. Charlotte agrees.
“Really? How? Is that even possible?” Mrs. Charlotte asked curiously. Even if it was just for a little moment, she really wanted to make Beatrice feel pain.
“Yes, it’s very much possible, she has a weakness. You say she asked you to taste the food each time before she eats, right?” Ezekiel asked.
“Yes. She always does.”
“I’m sure she has asked you at one point not to ever make her meals with onions. What do you think happens when she eats onions?” Ezekiel asked sarcastically.
Realization hit Mrs. Charlotte, and she gasped, that was true, Beatrice told her from the first day she started cooking for her not to ever add onion to any of the meals she made for her.
And of course, she has never added a little onion even mistakenly in the Queen’s meal to avoid being killed. But never, for once, has she ever wondered why the Queen avoided onions.
“There you have it Ma’am, she’s allergic to onions, when she takes onions, her body begins to itch her which eventually leads to terrible sores and on some occasions she faints,” Ezekiel explained in details.
Mrs. Charlotte has never been this happy in a while, she immediately brought out grated onions from where she had initially stored it and added enough amount to the pottage she was preparing.
Soon after, she went to serve the food to Beatrice, who was already seated in the dining waiting for her meal.
Mrs. Charlotte bowed to the Queen and quietly dished out the food into a golden plate. After dishing the food, she made to leave when Beatrice stopped her.
“You old hag! Do I always have to remind you to taste the meal?”
“I’m sorry, My Queen,” Mrs. Charlotte apologized and tasted the meal before leaving.
Beatrice smiled at the food right in front of her, it looked so inviting, she was already salivating and couldn’t wait to taste it.
Although she never, for once, praised the chef, the chef made the best food ever. She was so skilled and that was the reason she never laid her off.
Beatrice knew Mrs. Charlotte was very close to Mitchell when she was alive and was very sure the chef resented her, that was why she always asked the chef to taste the food she served her before she ate it.
Beatrice took a spoonful of the pottage and tasted it, damn! The taste was heavenly and without a waste of time, Beatrice devoured the meal.
Soon after eating, Beatrice went to the living room to relax. She began to feel uneasy, and before she knew what was going on, her body began to itch her.
Beatrice felt so hot inside and began to scratch herself uncontrollably.
“Make it stop! It’s so hot!” She screamed continually, and some of the soldiers who stood nearby ran to her, wondering what was happening to her.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Charlotte hid herself and laughed hard as she watched Beatrice screaming in pains.
Few minutes after, Beatrice slumped.
