Broken Marriage

Book:The Wingless Fairy (The Alpha's Luna) Published:2024-6-3

*** A few weeks back***
Matias was standing on his balcony thinking hard. It wasn’t an easy task for someone to kill Jason, yet they got him.
He wanted to know who those people who killed Jason were, so he could be in cohort with them, if they could kill Jason, they were able to do all things.
“Find those who killed Jason.” Matias mind linked to his beta.
Jason was now finally out of the way, and he was going to make sure he becomes the crowned king of the four regions.
He couldn’t wait to explore the power and authority bestowed on a king, but there was a problem.
He was a mate less Alpha.
And he couldn’t be crowned king without a Luna.
If not for Jason, who made him one-eyed, he wouldn’t be searching desperately for a woman who will accept his looks. Many ladies who he proposed marriage to, so they could be his breeders, all turned him down because he was one-eyed.
They all wanted a flawless man who they could flaunt, and not a one-eyed man like him.
Oh! How he hated Jason to the core, but thank Goodness he was dead and now out of his way.
The next day, Matias beta brought back feedback on who killed Jason.
“Lady Susan and her daughter killed him, Alpha,” The beta revealed.
Lady Susan?
Matias thought Jacinta loved Jason so much, he saw the way she looked at him at the engagement party.
“But why would they kill him?” Matias asked, he wasn’t aware of Ariella being in the picture now.
“He dumped her publicly on their wedding day for another beautiful woman,” The beta answered.
“Another woman? Haha, haha, Jason was really lucky to have all those women around him,” Matias laughed.
“How beautiful is this one?” He inquired.
“I have never seen her Alpha.”
Matias gestured to him to leave, he had gotten the Information he wanted. So Lady Susan and her daughter were capable of pulling such a string, that was quite unexpected, seeing how long Isabella and Susan have been friends.
Matias decided that moment that he was going to marry Jacinta. He needed a woman who was ferocious and wouldn’t take NO for an answer.
If she could kill the man she loves that meant, she could do just anything to acquire what she wanted and that was the kind of woman he wanted to be his Luna.
“I’ll do everything to stop the other Alphas from being crowned king. No one except I shall be called king!” Matias declared loudly to the hearing of his workers around him.
****Present day****
“I can’t believe the two of you, so you guys really killed Jason?” Marcus Jacinta’s father yelled. How could his wife do that to someone who has been nothing but good to them?
They killed Isabella’s only child, and they didn’t even have the conscience to go see her and console her. How could his wife be so wicked? He couldn’t blame his daughter, she was only following the leading of her mother.
“You! How could you?” Marcus made to move close to his daughter, but his wife blocked him.
“Don’t touch my child,” She warned.
“Do you even love your child?” Marcus asked sarcastically.
“You act like you love your child so much, yet you turned her into a murderer at this age. Now because of your crime, my child will be made to marry a man with only one eye. How beautiful! You should be ashamed of yourself, Susan!” He yelled.
Susan was taken aback.
In their many years of marriage, he has never yelled at her or called her by her name, regardless of what she did.
“Marcus, you just yelled at me?” Susan asked.
“Yes I did. I guess you are surprised, right. I know you hypnotized me into marrying you, but the truth is you were really my mate. I know what you’ve been doing for years, yet I turned a blind eye to it.”
“You knew?” Susan asked shakily.
The truth was, Marcus was her mate, but she never loved him, she only loved her first love. It was after two years of her Marriage to Marcus that she found out, he was her destined mate, but the greediness in her grew even more. She wasn’t contented with what she had, she wanted all the power, respect, fame for herself.
“Isabella’s husband, Robert, my good friend, wasn’t your mate, yet you kept throwing yourself at him and when he refused your advances you killed him.”
“I loved you so much to keep the truth away from the whole world, I knew everything you did, yet I pretended not to know.”
“But how?” Susan asked. For many years now, he did all her bidding without complaints. That showed he was still under her hypnotism, but he just said he knew all along, which meant at some point he was free, but how and when?
“How? Do you really want to know? Fine! A few days after our wedding, we went to Isabella’s castle to visit them, and she noticed the deadness in my eyes. You were so hung on being around her husband that you didn’t notice she sat close to me and chanted the release spell.”
“Isabella!” Susan yelled and gritted her teeth. Isabella was always getting in her way, spoiling her plans. Since Marcus has known the truth, Susan knew he wasn’t going to side with her, so she decided to fight him back.
“Hahaha, hahaha!” Susan laughed like a maniac, and that got Marcus confused.
Why was she laughing like that?
“Do you even have evidence I killed him?” Susan asked sarcastically. The look on Marcus’ face was evident that he had no evidence.
“No, I guess right? People won’t believe you because you have no evidence to back up your claims. I’ll tell them the doctors diagnosed you as mentally unstable if you spill out nonsense. I’m sure you know, forging a medical result is pretty easy,” Susan threatened.
Susan made to leave when Marcus spoke,
“I know you killed my mother too, and I’ll do all I can do to fetch evidence.”
Susan’s heart shook.
The murder weapon she used on Marcus mother got missing years ago and until date, it was never found. The murder weapon had her fingerprint on it.
Susan maintained her composure, she wasn’t going to let Marcus know she was a bit scared. She was going to figure it out somehow and get the murder weapon before him or anyone got hold of it.
“Our marriage is over, Susan,” Marcus said before he removed the wedding ring that was on his finger and dropped it on the table.
Marcus turned to Jacinta and looked at her for a few minutes before saying,
“I never knew you’ll turn out this way. I tried every possible way to prevent you from being the kind of woman your mother is, but I guess you already chosen your path. I pray you find your way back to the right path before it becomes too late for you.”
“Dad, please don’t leave,” Jacinta, who was already tearing up, made to kneel, and her mother stopped her.
“Let him go, he’s not worth it.”
Marcus went upstairs, packed his belongings and left the house. He was done tolerating and concealing crimes in his house.
After Marcus left the house, Susan and her daughter sat down without uttering a word to each other for a couple of minutes before Jacinta finally asked,
“Mum, am I really going to marry that one-eyed Alpha?”
“Yes, you will… That’s the only way we can protect ourselves.”
“But mother, I don’t like him. I don’t want to marry him,” Jacinta began to sob.
“Don’t worry, my child. All you need to do is to hang in there and pretend that you’ve wholeheartedly accepted to marry him, while I’ll come up with a plan to break off the engagement before the Marriage. Trust me, I’ll do anything for you,” Susan assured.
Unknowingly to them, Marcus stood by the door side outside, eavesdropping on their conversation. He knew Susan wasn’t one to be easily threatened, and she was already scheming evil in her head.
She wasn’t one to allow her daughter marry a man like Matias who had a bad record.
He just couldn’t believe how unrepentant Susan could be, she was already thinking of a way to commit another evil.
“I pray to the creator that nemesis catches up with you soon, Susan,” Marcus wholeheartedly prayed against the woman he once loved.
Yes! He no longer loved her.
Seeing how hardened she was, his entire love for her died off.
