Daisy sat as usual, watching over Ariella as she slept. She didn’t trust her sister Beatrice and somehow felt that Beatrice would be on the look for her and Ariella, so she couldn’t take chances by sleeping. If she heard any strange sound, they would immediately leave that place they were.
Ariella hasn’t mastered and accepted the powers she has recently discovered, and she was meant to guide her.
Daisy became alerted when Ariella began to struggle in her sleep, it was as if someone was warring with her.
“Ariella?” Daisy called calmly in order not to attract the attention of the wild animals that lived in the forest.
Ariella kept struggling, then the bracelet shined brightly, almost blinding Daisy. Daisy shielded her face from the light, it was too bright, it brightened the whole tent they were in.
Ariella gasped and opened her eyes,
“Ariel? Are you okay?”
Ariella was breathing so fast, like someone who had escaped from a deadly experience.
“I saw Beatrice, she was calling my name. She was summoning my spirit,” Ariella explained, still breathing hard.
Daisy wasn’t surprised, she knew who Beatrice was and was capable of doing. Since her twin sister had tracked them down, it was no more safe to stay here. They needed to leave as soon as possible.
“Ariel, we have to leave this place.”
“Now? It’s dark already, and many wild animals would be lurking around,” Ariella refused.
“If we don’t leave right now, probably by sun rise Beatrice and the soldiers will arrive here to capture you, so we have to go, okay?”
Daisy and Ariella left the tent all set to leave the forest. Both of them walked quietly in order not to attract wild animals to themselves.
They both walked on foot, of course because Ariella lost her wings. Ariella mistakenly tripped and fell to the ground, making a sound that attracted an animal to them.
A ferocious and gigantic boar came out of it hiding place, ready to attack Ariella.
Fear gripped Ariella’s delicate heart. Was this how she was going to die?
“Quick! Grab my hands Ariella, let’s fly away,” Daisy stretched out her hand to Ariella who was on the floor.
The boar began to draw closer, his razor teeth gleamed in the moonlight, ready to tear through anything in it way.
“Ariella please!” Daisy pleaded, the boar was getting closer, yet Ariella refused to take her hand.
“I’ll be a burden on you Daisy, just go. I’ll be fine, I promise,” Ariella assured.
“No! I can’t leave you,” Daisy couldn’t leave Ariella’s side. She was determined to die protecting Ariella.
“I order you Daisy, go!”
Daisy froze for a few seconds, that was the first time Ariella had given her an order as an heir.
Daisy saw the boar charging at them with rage and immediately grabbed Ariella’s hand to fly, but Ariella snatched her hand away from her, leaving Daisy no choice than to fly alone.
Using her quick thinking and resourcefulness, Ariella realized she needed to outsmart the charging boar. She swiftly climbed onto a nearby tree, carefully avoiding its sharp branches. The boar, frustrated by its missed opportunity, started ramming its head against the tree’s trunk.
It seemed like a dead end for Ariella, she couldn’t climb down from the tree, climbing down meant dying.
Ariella’s heart ached more when she thought of how helpful her wings would have been.
The tree kept shaking as the boar continued ramming it head against the tree’s trunk.
Daisy, who was watching everything occurring from above the ground, panicked. The tree would soon get weakened from the boar ramming on it and it will fall down. Daisy decided to fly over to where Ariella was and help her. It was easier now that Ariella was above the floor, far from the boar.
“Daisy stay there!” Ariella warned as though she knew what was on Daisy’s mind. Daisy groaned in frustration.
What was Ariella doing?
This was the perfect time to escape, and still, she was refusing help from her.
Ariella breathed shakily in fear, she knew she could die any moment from now, and she didn’t want Daisy to die alongside her. The past few days they’ve spent in the forest, they barely fed properly. Daisy couldn’t carry her, she knew Daisy was starving the same way she was, it was better for Daisy to live than for both of them to die together.
And also, she didn’t even know how to control her newly found powers.
The tree finally became so weak and fell, making Ariella an easy prey to be devoured.
“Ariel!” Daisy yelled and began to cry.
The boar roared in anger. Ariella closed her eyes, waiting for the boar to devour her.
A few seconds past, yet Ariella felt no pain. Instead, she felt something wet on her cheek. Ariella opened her eyes only to see the boar licking her face.
She was shocked!
Daisy also froze for some seconds, where she was due to shock. She gradually flew close to where Ariella and the boar were to get a clearer view.
The boar moved close to Daisy, immediately she landed on the floor, and she moved back in defense.
The boar went back to Ariella and sat down with it back facing Ariella, gesturing to Ariel to sit on it, but Ariella kept looking at it confused.
“I think it’s asking you to sit on it, Ariella,” Daisy pointed out.
Daisy was beyond thrilled, the creator of the universe was indeed kind to have sent them a creature that’ll help Ariella, whose wings were cut off and also make their journey easier.
Ariella sat on the boar and rode on it as they continued their journey.
Surprisingly, they never encountered any more wild animals as they went on.
They journeyed for two days, and yet, they found no sight of a person or people. It felt like a journey of no end because they didn’t know where they were headed to and the further they went, the bigger the forest seemed to be getting.
They saw a river and stopped by to drink water. The two ladies almost starved to death when luckily, they saw some wild fruits that were barely enough for a person, plucked it and ate it
The boar finally stopped and began to sniff around. It could perceive the smell of people nearby.
Ariella and Daisy became alerted when the boar stopped. It seemed as if it sniffed the smell of something, and they had to prepare themselves for the worst.
Daisy was about to chant a magical spell when the boar with Ariella still sitting on it followed through the left path at an increasing pace.
Daisy also increased her flying pace, they kept moving for some minutes when suddenly they heard chatters that sounded like it was from people.
Despite the chatters it heard, the boar kept moving. What Ariella and Daisy saw next was so breathtaking that Ariella couldn’t help but exclaim,
“Wooooow!”
Before them was a beautiful open field. It seemed like someone was getting married because there were floral decorations everywhere.
Everything before them screamed wealth and royalty. The isle was decorated with floral decorations, even the throne the couple were to seat on had beautiful floral decorations.
As it appeared, the wedding was yet to start because the seats weren’t properly full, although there were people present.
Even Daisy was in awe, the wedding venue was so beautiful and captivating.
Ariella, being a flower fairy, was mesmerized by the floral decorations she saw that she didn’t know when she climbed down from the boar who stood still.
Ariella magically made all the flowers begin to bloom, causing them to become bigger and deeper in their color.
“Mum! See! There’s a boar there and the flowers are blooming too,” A little boy who saw the boar and flowers blooming pointed it out to his mother. The little boy’s word caught all the people present attention, and they all turned.
Screams were heard everywhere at the sight of the boar.
Jacinta, who had just arrived, saw the boar and two beautiful ladies, standing beside it.
Who were these imposters?
The two faces were unfamiliar to her, Jacinta was surprised to see one of the two ladies with wings.
A fairy?
Where did they come from?
Daisy, sensing danger, positioned herself defensively in front of Ariella, ready to attack anyone who dared touch her princess.
“Attack!” Jacinta gestured at the warrior wolves around, and they all charged at Ariella and Daisy.
But before they could even get to where they were. They all heard a familiar groan that held rage in it, and they stopped in their track.
Although Ariella was starved and could feel her body suddenly shaking, she was ready to try defending herself from those wolves coming to attack them. All her life she was treated as a princess, she wasn’t trained on how to fight.
Suddenly, Ariella felt cold shivers went down her spine. She felt an intimidating aura and her heart began to beat fast.
Ariel’s world stopped when her beautiful eyes met with that of the most handsome man she had ever seen. Her eyes trailed from his face down to his mouth, her vision began to blur.
“Mate!” Ariella made out the word he uttered before she blacked out.
