Screams were heard as their body kept colliding with each other. The place was dark, so they couldn’t see each other’s faces. They started throwing punches at each other blindly.
Some of them tried to stand up but stepped on others who hit them in retaliation.
Where were they?
Some of them even tried to stand but collided with the walls and for some of them, it was the door.
They all screamed in terror and fright. What was happening?
The two guards, stationed at the entrance of the room, heard noises and bangs on the door and one ran to call Alpha Jason’s attention.
“Alpha! Alpha!!” He called out as the got close to Jason.
“What!” Jason roared at him. He hated to be disturbed when he was relaxing.
“The sleeping soldiers just woke up,” He announced, and immediately Jason charged up on his feet. They finally woke up, those soldiers had been sleeping for over a week. All efforts to wake them up proved abortive.
The doctors tried severally to wake them up by injecting them with several substances, but none of them woke up. The doctors ran a test on them and found nothing in their blood stream. Jason thought of disposing their body but couldn’t because they were still breathing and now, after putting him through many stresses, they finally woke.
“Let’s go!” Jason commanded, and the soldier led the way.
Jason could hear loud screams coming from the room the soldiers were thrown into. When they wouldn’t wake up, Jason threw them on top of each other into a room and assigned two soldiers to watch over them carefully.
Jason, know the men were shouting because they didn’t know where they were, but it felt funny to him. They were shouting like women who were scared at the sight of death and not the soldiers that he trained.
As the soldiers kept struggling to find their way out, they heard the sound of a key opening the door, and everywhere fell silent. Was it their time to die?
They anticipated the worst coming because they didn’t know where they were. The beautiful afternoon sun illuminated the room immediately the door was open, almost blinding them and all their faces became visible.
They all held their breaths in shock when they saw Alpha Jason standing in front of them with a Stoic expression.
What happened?
Why were they here?
Jason saw the confused look on their faces and heaved. They were oblivious of what had happened to them.
“You all go freshen up and resume your duties immediately,” Jason ordered and walked away. He wasn’t going to give them time to process what was happening.
Jason had just entered the living room and realized they were people there. He saw the prestigious men and women of the kingdom sitted there with his mother.
“We are all here to plan your wedding,” Isabella explained when she saw the confused look on his face. Jason’s face immediately darkened when his mother explained it to him. He wasn’t ready to get married yet.
“You’ll make a good husband for our dear Jacinta,” one of the men present spoke, and Jason growled loudly at him in annoyance. The man stiffened with fear, has he said something wrong?
The man looked at other people present as though he were searching for an answer, but they all looked away.
Jason hissed loudly and walked away from them. Well, they were all used to Jason’s disrespect. He had no respect for anyone except his mother.
Jacinta’s parents were among the prestigious people who came. While Jacinta’s mother, Susan, was smiling sheepishly like a teenage, Jacinta’s father took his time to observe Jason. It was obvious that Jason wasn’t in love with his daughter.
He knew if Jacinta married Jason, he was going to maltreat her, and that scared him a lot. From the way Jason acted just now, he knew Jason was forced to write that letter proposing marriage.
Jacinta’s father heaved in frustration. How he ended up getting married to Susan was something he couldn’t tell. Susan was very stubborn and always wanted things to go her own way.
Was being the mother-in-law of the strongest Alpha more important than their daughter’s happiness?
Jacinta’s father decided to go see his daughter and advise her for the very last time, who knows, he might be lucky this time, and she’ll listen to him.
Jacinta’s father excused himself from the meeting, he asked a maid where Jacinta’s room in the Isabella’s castle was located at, and she directed him. He had never been in support of his daughter moving in to a man’s house before marriage.
He saw moving into a man’s house before marriage as an act of desperation, he kicked against it when Jacinta informed him of her intentions, but his wife overrode his order as usual and gave Jacinta the go ahead.
Getting to the door of the room, he took a deep breath before finally knocking. Jacinta opened the door and was surprised to see her father.
“Dad!” She screamed and hugged her father. Although her father didn’t agree with her decision, she loved him dearly.
Jacinta ushered her father inside, and he sat on the bed.
“Sweetheart, there’s something I want to talk to you about,” Jacinta’s father started off calmly.
“Dad, Is everything okay?” Jacinta asked curiously.
“It’s about your marriage to Jason, baby girl, I need you to please reconsider. I’m scared of you getting hurt by Jason. You and I know he doesn’t love you, a one-sided love always negatively affects the one who’s in love. You are beautiful, you are from a good family, many men out there wouldn’t hesitate to make you their mate. So why do you want to enter into a loveless marriage?”
Jacinta knew her father was right. It was a one-sided love, and it was going to hurt her badly, but she loved Jason and not other men.
Not only that, her mother wanted her to marry Jason, her mother said she was made for the best and Jason was the best.
But what if Jason never ever got to love her back?
Jacinta began to consider her father’s word. He had a point, in a loveless marriage she was going to suffer emotionally, but she also wanted to be known as the wife of the strongest Alpha in all the kingdom. That was her dream!
It’s been minutes since Jacinta’s father excused himself from the meeting, where could he have gone?
Susan hoped he hasn’t gone to dissuade Jacinta from getting married to Jason because he was likely to do that; he never approved of their union.
Susan quickly excused herself and walked briskly to Jacinta’s room. She stood at the door and eavesdropped when she got there and just as she had predicted, he was trying to dissuade Jacinta from getting married to Jason.
“Bang!” Susan barged in before Jacinta could even reply.
“What is wrong with you? Why do you always want to ruin beautiful things?” Susan yelled in anger.
Marcus (Jacinta’s father) just looked at her and said nothing. He had no strength for her troubles, so he just stood up and left the room.
“Mum, what if Jason never falls in love with me?” Jacinta asked when she was sure her father had gone far away from the room.
“Then, I’ll hypnotize him myself and force him to love you!”
