“You mean Jason did all that to you?” Susan fumed in anger.
Yesterday, they (Susan’s family members) were all asleep when they heard a repeated knock on the gate that woke them up. The guards all brought out their weapons, thinking it was a thief or a werewolf who had gone wild. But to their astonishment, it was Jacinta. Susan and her husband were stunned, what was even shocking was that she came back with all her belongings.
“Baby girl, what happened?” Jacinta’s father asked his daughter with a worried expression.
“Jason is mistreating me,” Jacinta began to sob. Jacinta’s father heaved in frustration, he didn’t know what to say. Countless time, he has asked his daughter to let Jason go and give other men a chance, but she was adamant. He could remember Jacinta vividly telling him it was Jason or no one. He knew Jason didn’t love her, but his wife Susan kept pushing their daughter.
“I’m sorry, princess!” he finally said. Jacinta looked at her father with her tears eyes, she knew he never wanted her to become Jason’s mate. Jason never loved her, and it was Jason that was going to decide to make her his mate and not otherwise. Many times, she fought with her father because of Jason.
Jacinta’s belongings were carried inside by some maids. When they were settled, Jacinta narrated everything to her parents.
“You mean he asked you to sleep in the guard room? Is he crazy? What gave him that audacity?” Susan, who was being trying so hard to act calm in the presence of her husband, flamed up in anger. She tried so hard to keep her reaction in check because she never wanted her husband to say “I told you.”
Jason went too far, firstly he turned her daughter into a kitchen supervisor, and now he asked her to sleep in the guard’s room, who did he think he was? Susan vowed to deal with Jason.
“Sweetheart, why don’t you just forget about Jason and give someone else a chance? There are other men who are willing to make you their mate. You are so beautiful and there is hardly any man that’ll refuse to marry you.” Jacinta’s father advised gently.
“Never! I’ll never let that happen. My daughter deserves the best, and Jason is the best for her. I am her mother, and I’ll never mislead her.” Susan spoke.
“But honey, what’s the point of staying with someone who is the best and still causes you pains? You know I also want what’s best for our daughter. You and I know Jason doesn’t love her. Stop advising her to throw at self at him. It’ll make her look cheap, you know this.” Jacinta’s father persisted.
“Now I know you don’t want what’s best for our daughter, you don’t want her to marry someone of high status and be settled. You want her to marry all those poverty-stricken, infected men. I want her to be known as the wife of the most powerful werewolf ever known, and I as the mother-in-law.” Susan yelled at her husband.
“But she will be happy with someone else, and that’s all that matters.” Jacinta’s father continued to reason with his wife.
“Oh, please shut up! Keep your sermon to yourself. Cinta darling, let’s go upstairs, your father is such a joy killer.”
Jacinta looked at her father sadly, he had a point, but she was born into wealth and was already used to her wealthy life. How could she get married to one of those men from an average family? She was above average and couldn’t cope with average. If It meant going fetish to get Jason, she will.
*****Inside Jacinta’s room******
“Don’t worry about Jason. I’ll figure it out. He won’t do anything to you, he can’t hurt his mother. Speaking of which, did you give the portion to Isabella?” Susan inquired.
“I gave it to her, but I don’t know how it ended up in the hallway broken and shattered into pieces,”
Susan’s face darkened. So Isabella threw away what she gave to her, how could she do that?
“But mum, I don’t think she disposed of it. It seemed like it was stolen from her because I found it close to the maid’s quarter.” Jacinta spoke, and that calmed Susan, who was almost upset. It had better be that someone stole the portion from Isabella. If not, Isabella will face her wrath.

“Who was the kitchen maid on duty last night?” Jason yelled and startled all the maids who were present in the kitchen. Jason wasn’t wearing his blood-stained dress now, he was all changed up presently.
Fear came to all those who were in the kitchen. Jason’s aura was scary and intimidating. They still haven’t gotten over what happened earlier today.
“Are you all deaf? I said, who was the kitchen maid that was on duty last night?” Instantly, all the kitchen maids pointed to the head chef. The head chef began to shake in fright. She was done for.
“How did the kitchen key end up in a guard’s hand?” Jason yelled. The head chef knew she was in a serious trouble. Yesterday the guard had told her that he needed the kitchen key, that he wanted to do something that was going to be beneficial to both of them and that which he planned to do was for Lady Jacinta. Since Jacinta had given her a huge amount of money some time ago, she couldn’t resist because she knew the pay will be heavy. She never knew it’ll end up going wrong.
“He stole it from me, I didn’t know when he took it,” The head chef lied and fell on the floor pleading for her life.
“How could you be so careless? You are dismissed, pack your belongings and leave my house.”

Susan heard a knock on the door and ordered a maid to go get the door. Susan heard a loud gasp coming from the door, and she stood up, alerted. Who was that at the door?
Jason walked in majestically, beating all her imaginations. What was he doing here? Has he come to punish her daughter for defiling his other? Well, she would never let that happen.
Jason sat down, comfortable, without uttering a word. Jason and Susan kept exchanging looks, with none of them uttering a word.
“I’ll just keep it straight, where is Jacinta?” Jason finally broke the silence.
Susan looked at Jason in awe, if not that he was the strongest and one of a kind, he would have been long destroyed by her. She couldn’t question his authority, he was the fiercest Alpha ever known, and challenging him was digging one’s own grave.
“I’m sorry Alpha for the way Jacinta left your castle, she fell sick then she ran home for proper treatment.” Susan knelt on the floor, apologizing. Inwardly, she was upset that she was on her kneels begging this little boy that she knew when he was born. Jason might have been her son, if she had ended up marrying Robert. Susan was only devising a way to calm Alpha Jason down, defiling an Alpha order was a deadly thing to do. Although she was friends with Jason’s mother, she knew Jason never liked her.
“That haven’t answered my….”
“Mum, who is sick?” Jacinta asked descending from the stairs but stopped in her track when her eyes locked with Jason’s.
